My first had the worst cradle cap (all over her forehead even) and some hair did fall out, but mostly the hair just just rubbed off from sleeping on her back
Mine got cradle cap on his forehead too. I called it cradle face. LOL
(we ended up getting special ointment from the doctor that cleared it right up)
Lol cradle face. Poor guy!
DS got pretty bad cradle cap and EVERYONE became an expert on how to treat it.🙄

Yes!!!!! I wasn't so concerned about it until everyone had to point it out yesterday. Like yes my daughter is flaky and balding. It will clear up on its own. I don't need 10 people's different home remedies.

FS2 had cradle cap, and I ended up just kind of gently scratching it all off over the course of a couple weeks. It didn't come back once it was all off. Probably not the right/best method but it worked. What are the recommended ways to get rid of it?
I think FS3 has cradle cap too but his hair is so thick that I can't actually see for sure if he has it or not...

I actually had someone tell me I needed to either "scrub harder" or bathe my child more frequently. Excuse me?

People have recommended coconut oil or this mustela (sp?) shampoo. But our doctor said we could GENTLY scratch it off as it loosened and mostly to just leave it alone and it will take care of itself*
*obviously this depends on where and how severe. They can prescribe ointments like requiressnacks mentioned but typically if bothers us more than it does them as far as I know
I think A's at a point where I need to actually start putting her down for naps instead of just doing the newborn sleep anywhere and everywhere thing. I was planning on starting the Mom's on Call routine when we get back from Georgia, but until then what's a reasonable number or naps for a 7 week old? Should I put her down after every feeding? We have a super busy week unfortunately and I'm worried about her getting over tired and turning into a disaster
Oh I had a good chart for this that I used, let me see if I can find it.

We loosely follow the EASY schedule and always have. Our typical pattern is: -wake (babies wake when they are ready or one wakes and we wake the other), change, feed -awake time 30-60 minutes -nap usually 60-90 minutes but they have 1 longer nap that's closer to 3 hours
Following this, we start the day at 8am and they get (2) 60-90 minute naps and (1) longer nap. They typically will not nap after their dinner bottle but we start putting them down to bed at 7:30 and sometimes have the asleep for the night by 8 (lately E has been witching tho). Then they wake and eat every 3 or 4 hours at night but go right back to sleep without any awake time.
ETA: I try to make them nap in their cribs once or twice a day. That's mostly just so they get used to sleeping in there. Otherwise they still sleep anywhere.

Every time she gets a bath I've been gently scrubbing her head with a washcloth to get as much of the flakiness off as I can before she gets pissed. Then after bath I rub a small bit of aquaphor on her forehead. That seems to be clearing up her forehead but she has an impressive receding hairline now.
My sister wants to meet up at a play cafe next week and I don't know if I want to go. She's a nanny to 2 babies, so it would be fun watching R have someone else to interact with, but ugh. It's an hour and three buses away, and it would mess up her naps. But I know my sister really wants to see R and doesn't have many opportunities. Ugh.
yeeesh...3 busses? That sounds far. Is there anything a tad closer?
Not really. This is halfway for both of us. We're on opposite ends of the city.

+1 for the EASY schedule. Or you can just google Baby Whisperer sleep schedules. I was all about parent - directed eating/sleeping, but with twins that's fairly typical it seems.

That's pretty much what I did, and I used the mustela or whatever shampoo for kicks. Dunno how much it helped 🤷🏻♀️

k3am I lost the links to those sleep charts and info you shared... do you happen to have them 😅

I've been letting them determine the eating schedule mostly. They seem to have naturally fallen into a 3 or 4 hour routine so we were able to drop 1 feeding. But it's working so far. I know most twin parents would rather set the schedule so I'm an oddball I guess.

Mine are basically like clockwork, it's so funny. But early on, they had to learn to eat, then play, then sleep. Now it just happens!

The detailed chart is associated with my gmail so I'm hesitant to post it on a public forum.
But I actually prefer this cheat sheet.
Thanks! Don't blame you for not wanting to post th gmail one but this is sufficient anyway! I may bug you later for the gmail version later so I can actually save it for real since I have asked you 4858 times for it.

R was always weird with naps (until 10 months she was still taking 5-6 a day), but I always put her down for a nap after every feed.
Eta: she also slept anywhere and everywhere until she got lucky about wanting to be in bed, then on the couch, around 7 months.
teraiin, I'm kind of terrified for when this starts happening in our home. We have a tri-level and pets who need access to the various levels of the house. We have a gate with a cat door, but my goldendoodle just doesn't fit through it like she used to
Actually teraiin, thanks for tagging me into this thread. Pulling open that spreadsheet makes me realize just what a shitty job we've been doing at delaying response to night wakings since he got sick. He's back to a bottle and nursing 1-2 times a night.
He's almost a year (HOW TF DID THAT HAPPEN?!?) and I really don't want to be nursing him all night long.

1 hour left and I can hold my baby again...
He also realized it he rattles it like a crazy person he can SOMETIMES get the gate open sooooo now H needs to see if we can tighten the latch or... use a twist tie?? Or get a new gate? 😩😭

I have such a hard time with the response to night waking part. Rationally I know that it doesn't always help to rush to the rescue but in the wee hours of the morning it feels so much better to just "solve" the problem and get back to bed ASAP lol

I have been able to soothe a baby MOTN exactly zero times without a bottle. It is such a fruitless endeavor for me.
