I'm kind of nervous this week. I go back to the MFM to check on my marginal cord insertion and placenta issues. I'll also find out what kind of monitoring I'll have for the rest of the pregnancy, but last time I was there they mentioned scans every other week with them and twice a week NSTs or BPPs with my OB. At least I get to see the baby again!
Wednesday I have my GTT followed by my monthly appointment. JP is off of school this week so I'm bringing him with me. C has been to all my appointments so she might get he feelings hurt. So I might have them both.
bepandnick oh goodness! That will be soo many appointments. I hope you won't have that many.
Thanks. I'm hoping it won't be that many, at least at first because it's going to be difficult to figure out my work schedule around them. But if it's what we need to do, I'll figure it out.

Nothing again this week, but it has been over a week since my GTT so I am taking that as a sign that I passed. Also I ate a lot of mini eggs and such this weekend so I better have!

My growth scan was great. The tech brought me back, did the measurements and asked if I had any questions for the MFM. When I said no, she told me she would see me in three weeks.
I have over 7 lbs of babies inside of me right now.

Had an ultrasound today to check on my low-lying placenta. The good news is that it moved up and is not a concern. The bad news is that the baby is measuring about 3 weeks ahead. Some highlights of the conversation with the U/S tech:
Her: "aren't you only supposed to be like 29 weeks?!" Me: "Actually, 28 weeks 2 days" Her: "These measurements put you at 31 weeks 2 days. EDD June 20"
Her: "how big was your first baby?" Me: "8 pounds 6 ounces" Her: "Well this guy is going to have his brother beat by a lot if he keeps this up!"
Her: "You don't have gestational diabetes or anything, right?" Me: "Yeah, actually I do..." Her: "oh... well I'm sure I'll be seeing you again in just a couple of weeks!"
Also, I almost passed out laying on the ultrasound table. Just the pressure from the baby laying on my back. It was a little bit scary. I also hadn't eaten breakfast, so it could have had something to do with that, but I checked my blood sugar right before I left for the appointment and it was not low. She said next time to remind her to just have me sit up for it.
Anyway, doctor didn't seem that concerned about growth. He said it's still in the normal distribution, just on the high end. He looked at my blood sugar log and wasn't concerned about the diabetes. I'll get another ultrasound in a month, and we'll keep reassessing, but as of now I'm definitely planning to schedule the delivery at 39 weeks.

The babies are over 3.5 pounds each??!!
and that only puts them in the 70th(ish) percentile

Crisco Salad, I tried to google a range for 29 weeks but failed. Everything just says about 2.6ish. That's awesome though! I always thought twins ran small but it sounds like yours are ahead of the game.
JoBub I think I missed that you ended up with a GD diagnosis too. Welcome to the Club - unfortunately we don't have cookies. (Unless you strategically eat them right after you check your sugar so you have the maximum amount of time to burn them off before your next check like I do) 😈
LOL I do that too. I remember eating ice cream this time of year last time I was pregnant and I was bewildered how I pulled that off since I had GD too, but I think I must have gone straight after work when I didn't have to test again until after dinner.
I don't know if I even mentioned it here when I was diagnosed, since it was no surprise. I had it last time too, and I failed the 1-hour test so badly they didn't even make me take the 3-hour.

At least you didn't have to suffer through the 3hr. Are you still diet controlled at this point?
Yeah I showed my numbers to the doctor today and he wasn't concerned at all even though I've had some random high readings. I was diet controlled with my first also. I am going to try to do better knowing I already have a big baby though.
Glucose test today. Sorry some of you ladies are already suffering with gd. I'm hoping for good results.
We talked about heartburn and how bad it's gotten and the fact that I'm not sleeping well and I'm going to look for a mental health practice to talk about anxiety and he said I can start taking Pepcid daily.... so hopefully that helps.

Had my appt. today. Nothing major to report. We decided on the Skyla IUD for when after this LO is out; and also decided that by 39 wks. we would decide if I want / should be induced (they'll let me go to 41 wks. if I want and there's no indications I shouldn't); and got my TDap. I start appts. every two weeks now - hello 3rd tri.

I had my appointment with my MFM today. Good news is baby looks good, is measuring 2 weeks ahead, and is already 3 lb at 27 weeks. Unfortunately part of my cord is exposed and there is a concern it could get compressed as baby grows. So I've got to do kick counts after I eat and look for 10 movements in an hour, I'll be starting weekly NSTs, and will have monthly scans with my MFM. They will also not let me go any later than 39 weeks.

Glad baby looks good, and I hope they can keep cooking for at least 10 more weeks!
