I was awake this morning laying with DS2 (we cosleep from 5am until I get up for the day) and I could feel the baby kicking a good bit. I think I am just so busy throughout the day that I'm not sitting still enough and the movements aren't hard enough to be noticed as easily when I'm busy all day.
Yesterday I started officially schooling DD. She can already read 40 sight words but now I'm doing formal reading lessons. She was so excited to have actual schoolwork like her big brother. It was so cute!
DD lost and born 9/18/2013 at 24 weeks (Trisomy 18) DS born 6/16/2015 (at 39 weeks 6 days, after emergency cerclage at 23 weeks and 14 weeks of bed rest)

That's awesome! Remind me how old your DD is?
I thought DS was trying to read the other day - he has a book that says "dum ditty dum ditty dum dum" and he like to play along with his toy drum; he wanted the book facing towards him and was following my finger so that he knew when to drum. It was like he could recognize the shapes, but he's not even two and I thought I was being crazy. But maybe I should be encouraging it and teaching him more? Totally out of my depth here......

I still have a hard time differentiating kicks/movement in the belly from other stomach things. But I do notice distinct movement at times and it's the best. Yesterday we had our monthly birthday celebration at work, so I had some sweets. Baby girl was all kinds of moving after that bit of sugar.

sarenu I would love a new woven carrier - where are you seeing them on sale?
Oops might have spoken too soon. I guess wovens are not on sale. Still looking because I really want to get one, but I think my heart might be set on a Tekhni when I get time to go into their vault.
salmon2017, she turned 3 this past March. She has been a very eager learner all her life. She knew the alphabet and their sounds by the time she was 17 months old. Then I started teaching her sight words and having her read easy sight word readers. Now, I'm moving on to more formal lessons because I feel she is ready.
DS2 can read the words Go and My....he sits with DD and I when we work on her stuff so he absorbs it. He also knows a good portion of his alphabet. He is not quite as fast as she is at picking stuff up but I have noticed an increase in his language skills since he got tubes last October.
It's official; I am feeling regular movement. Strong enough and frequent enough that I don't have to be lying totally still to notice it.
Note to self for next pregnancy - 21 weeks, that's when it happens. Try not to freak out at 17, 18, 19, and 20 weeks next time!
I'm only 17.5 weeks and I have to keep reminding myself it's still pretty early so stop freaking out. I have felt her twice since this morning so maybe she just changed positions and she had her back to my stomach last week. Who knows. I just want to feel all of her movements!

Completely agree. Just this week I've started feeling movement throughout the day and LOTS of it at night when I'm laying down. Also in the middle of the night.
I was like many of you, freaking out a week or two ago about movement. Hang in there! DD felt baby move from the outside the other night. DH still hasn't...but that's because he really hasn't tried.

It's our city's "put all your big trash on the curb and we will pick it up for free" day tomorrow so there are so many cars driving through our street! Normally there is no one because we are basically a drive so only neighbors come through. It's incredible what people pick up and want to keep for their own.
Our week like that is a week away. I love clean up week mainly because I love getting rid of crap. And it's fun to see what people have taken out of the crap.
So....we will be going through our house this weekend and next weekend to find stuff to throw out.

I'm wearing a shirt today that I don't think I'll be able to wear much longer. It's a maternity shirt and it's already a little snug. It really shows off my bump....
If anyone is looking to cloth diaper or a new carrier/woven, you may want to check out the sales going on this weekend.
I'm stocking up on two new newborn covers, new wetbags (mine are done for), and a smart bottom diaper to try out.
Yes! I ordered a thirstiest natural newborn AIO, grovia newborn AIO, and a tots bots AIO. The rest of my stash is pretty good (though I haven't officially looked through it all), so just wanting to add in some easy diapers. Yay!

DH and I decided to order apps to go from Applebees. So I ordered online and got to the restaurant. They didn't have my order at all. Turns out, it was ordered for tomorrow night. I have no idea how that happened. I picked ASAP....weird yo. Anyway...they are making it for me now.
Our fire a few nights ago lead to some serious conversations,as they always do, and we are slowly pulling the brakes on a new house. We don't want to settle and available properties are so limited. We can stay here for a few months after baby is born if they stay in our room (which was not the plan but such is life) and move both kids into one room when #2 sleeps more through the night. We will still be looking but are assuming it will be later in the fall or even next spring before we move. It's a little frustrating but it's the best in the end.
With that said, DH decided to turn our old gazebo space into a veggie garden. We are not gardening people so this should be interesting! We don't like bell peppers or tomatoes so if anyone has other ideas that work well in the middle Midwest let me know! We are thinking some corn, green beans, carrots, cucumbers, or potatoes? Who knows what will happen!
Peas and radishes! Spinach, kolorabi are fun too. I live in the upper Midwest and my mom has always had a big garden.
In the ER with DS. He fell off of some playground equipment yesterday afternoon and hit his head. He threw up 4 times over night. So here we are awaiting a cat scan.
Doctor said physically he looks fine but vomiting 3 or more times is a cause for concern. She left the cat scan up to me....grr. DH told me to just do it to make sure. We are here, have insurance so may as well be safe.

caybeh when DS got a concussion at 2.5 it was the worst thing ever. He passed out so he had to ride in the ambulance. I hope the next day or two are easy and hope DS feels better
