I can't figure out how to start my own post soooo I will ask here. How do I go about getting a breast pump covered by my insurance? Like do I call them and see what to do or do I buy it and send them the receipt? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network if that helps

Maybe start at your OB or midwife's office? They might be able to guide you in the right direction. They probably have BP resources and you can contact them to see if they take your insurance. Probably easier than trying to contact your insurance.

My OB told me that she'll write my a script for it once we're closer to delivery and they'll send me to a place in town that sells them.

It makes me SO happy to see so many people made their way over here! I haven't been on since late last night, so I've missed a lot.
I'm on a short lunch break, can anyone point me in the direction of how to add images to siggys? HTML code didn't seem to work in my "Edit Profile and Settings" section.
Also, I have an idea of who is being side-eyed, but I'm not sure if it's the same person.

I called mine and they walked me through it, I think it's different for every insurance company. I would definitely call before you buy anything, mine only covers certain ones

I would call your insurance company and see what they say. Some companies have different policies.

I'd call and ask your insurance commpany. I have aetna and they provided me with a list of vendors. I just pick one, let them know which pump I want (they give you options of what is covered), then order it. The vendor takes it from there and will deliver it 30 days before my due date.
I literally have no idea of anything my husband said to me last night after 6pm. He was getting so irritated with me & kept asking me what I was doing as I was furiously typing away.
sunshyneshay I cosign what PP's said - call your insurance and they'll walk you through it. I have to get mine from a durable medical equipment supplier not a regular store with an RX from my OB.

Go to this site. You can try and find your insurance company and then they will point you in the right direct. I had to get a prescription from my OB and then contact the vendor.
My random: I have all my nursery fabric now. As much as I love turquoise, this pile of fabric looks like it's for a little boy. I told DH that I'm going to bookmark a bunch of coral colored decor ahead of time so I can immediately buy it and get some pink in the room if this one turns out to be a girl. He thinks I'm crazy. I remember how quickly all the green in DS's room started to bother me.
My BFF is doing her nursery in coral and turquoise too, I love her finished product.
