So my OB I saw while pregnant I'd been seeing for a few years (since we moved here). She was fine, no major concerns. Toward the end of the pregnancy, H was a little unhappy with her, because she seemed a little indecisive with regards to what route to take with my bp issues. (Example: at 35/36 weeks, she told me her goal was 38, ideally 39 unless my bp skyrocketed, and then we would induce. We never once, not ever, discussed bedrest. Then at 37 weeks, without any discussion or mention prior, I was put on full bedrest, effective immediately. My numbers hadn't ready increased anymore, she just seemed to change her mind.)
When I went in to be induced, I became high risk because if my bp issues and was transferred to another area hospital better suited to take care of me. The doc I had there was amazing. Like a-mazing. When I was discharged, they told me I needed to be seen at two weeks out, and gave me the option to see my original OB (whom I hadn't seen since being transferred, although I was told she called and touched base at some point) or the doc where I delivered. I picked the second doc, mainly because he did my emergency c-section and was more familiar with my labor/delivery.
While at my two week appointment, I asked if that practice was accepting new patients, and expressed interested in switching practices. They agreed, and scheduled my 6 week appointment. That appointment is tomorrow. However, my original OB is still wanting to see me. I told then when they called that I had already had my two week and had scheduled my 6-week with the doc who delivered. Original OB is still requesting to see me.
How do I officially cut ties with the original OB? Do I just have the new office request records? It's two totally different practices/clinics. It's not that the original doc did anything wrong, I (and h) loved the new doc, and how he handled everything. Especially if we have another baby down the road, I'd like to use him rather than original OB.
Short version: I prefer the doctor who delivered C over my original OB. I've been accepted as a patient by new doc, but original OB is still requesting to see me. How do I break ties?
