Ridley's been crying/whining for about 15 minutes now. She keeps saying dada and going to the bedroom to look for him. 😥 Usually she sees him leave so she'll go to the front door and wait for a few minutes and be over it. But she didn't see him this morning so I don't think she realizes he's gone.
If she's still like this after her nap I think we'll do a video call.
My cousin is getting married (again). So I got an invitation kind of for a bridal shower. But it says "No gifts. Please join us to help with the tasks for the wedding." Wtf does that even mean?!?! Am I invited to a party where I have to work? Do I have to bring my own glue gun?
So I'm obviously RSVPing no.
I'm picturing sitting around DIY-ing centerpieces. That would be a big 'ol no thanks from me too.
I was invited to a bridal shower. I was intending to just send money and not go because honestly I'm not the best of friends with her and she's nice but I find the showers to be pretty boring.
I noticed on her mom's invite it says "send regrets only, your silence implies attendance" only worded in a way that makes it feel obligated to go.
Then I get a call "asking" me to bring a cheese and cracker tray and they are looking forward to seeing me. Oh. Turns out they asked 48595 people and assigned them different things to bring. I can't decide if they are stacking the deck to ensure she gets gifts or has people come to the party or can't afford food??? Idk
For someone I'm not that close to, I would not be bringing food. Unless the invitation states pot luck right up front, asking people to bring food is totally inappropriate IMO.
Normally they sleep in swaddleme's or halo sacks. But he says she spit up on her halo sack so he just grabbed (the smallest) receiving blanket we own and wrapped her up.
Haha. Good attempt. Makes for an adorable picture with the tiny baby toes sticking out!
R has drastically cut down the amount of solids she eats lately and I'm not sure why. She even refused her breakfast bar this morning. And she usually gets ape shit excited over them. I hope nothing's wrong.

Could she have more teeth she's working on?
Totally possible. She only had the two bottoms right now and she didn't show many symptoms of teething before they came in, so I really don't know what to look for in her.
I would try that before trying to keep them awake when they want to sleep.
+1
mustloveerica - I always seriously regretted it when I tried to keep R awake when he wanted to sleep. And since he dropped weight at the beginning I was supposed to wake him up every 3 hours to eat during the day and all that did was leave me with a pissed off baby that was now too mad to eat anyway.

I can't remember where, but I remember reading that refusing to eat could be a sign of teeth. I realize everything gets blamed on teeth, but it would make sense to not want solids if her mouth was bothering her at all.

That seems so rude to me. I can understand maybe asking very close friends/bridesmaids and family to bring a side dish or something to the shower, but its weird to ask basically everyone attending to bring something. I would definitely send my regrets for that one!
This morning I got a free bagel on my MyPanera card and asked for a cup of coffee as well. I was all ready to pay for the coffee and had my credit card out, but the girl working there said not to worry about it! So I got a free bagel and a free coffee! Sometimes its the small things that can put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

I should clarify I'm not trying to keep them awake past their tired cues. But I usually just set them down in bouncers or whatever to tend to one baby at a time. And they just fall asleep because they're bored. So like after this bottle we did diaper change, clothes change, tummy time and then sang "head, shoulders, knees and toes" to each baby (with a dance) and then E started yawning so I swaddled her up and put her down and H followed a few minutes later. I just want to make more of an effort to give them stimulation vs just setting them in a bouncer. So they were awake for an hour after their bottle. Which is more than usual but not ignoring their tired cues.

mustloveerica, mine really liked the Kick & Play piano at that age. It was one of the few things that actually kept them stimulated and not falling asleep. Do you have anything like that?
He felt the need to wake me up at some point between 5 and 6am to ask why I posted it and what he did now. Ugh dude, I was up all night - fuck off and let me sleep.
I know that there's a lot going on with your H right now, and that you're probably feeling sleep deprived and unsupported.
However...
If I posted something like that on FB, my H would have probably done the same thing.

Yes! I actually assumed they were too young for it. But I pulled it out yesterday and they seem to like it. I'm not sure they realize the kicking is making music but they were "talking" to the toys.

Dude. That is so tacky. Hard no on that invite. I wonder what the wedding will be like - bring your own cake?

same. I mean I'd be pissed at being woken up so early, but if I posted something passive aggressively on FB, mine would be calling me out on it too.

H was like "I wonder if we will be invited to the wedding?"
"Well I mean in invited to the shower... isn't it tacky to invite someone to th shower but not the wedding?"

Teething and growth spurts....LOL
"Baby just woke up early. Must be teething/growth spurt!" "Baby just shit all over them-self. Must be teething/growth spurt!" "Baby just ate a lot. Must be teething/growth spurt!" "Baby isn't eating. Must be teething/growth spurt!"
right?! I don't even want to think about it. I was a mess last week making their collages and going through all their pictures and videos of their first year, haha. I was saying crazy things like I WANT TWINS AGAIN. Pippa can verify that the first birthday has done crazy things to me.

I'm only 5 months in and I look at their newborn pics and cry. And in a rare moment have told MH that I want another baby. SAY WHAT?!

I asked if I can't just not have a first birthday party... that means he will be a baby forevehhhh right?!

+learning a new skill
"Oh he took forever to fall asleep, he's obviously mastering some skill!!!"
My explanations for why my baby is being a baby. Teeth, growth spurt, learning 😂

I've been watching all the videos of her first year over and over and when h catches me I blame it on Ridley liking to watch them and totally not me being emotional. Lol

MIL asked me if we're going to go for twins again....

The day after giving birth, MH was helping me to the bathroom and I told him that birth wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I could do it again. He stared at me and said "I think the pain meds have made you delusional." . Hahahaha

Oh man, I've been ready for another baby since my period came back at 2 months pp. Granted I don't have twins, so not quite as crazy. Lol
