I'm annoyed. We cancelled going to Des Moines to avoid the flu. We had this weekend or possibly the following 2 that we could have gone, but this weekend and 2 weeks from now we'd have to leave really early Sunday to get back for something. Next weekend was wide open so would've worked best but DH's family now want to get together Saturday afternoon since we didn't get together on Easter. I hinted it would be nice if we could do that Sunday afternoon instead so it would free up the weekend but he was not on board with suggesting it to them.
So we'll either reschedule for 2 weeks from now and have to leave at like 6am on Sunday or we don't have another free weekend until the end of June. Boo!
calishove I'm also in the shop now camp; everybody seems to be doing constant sales now, it's just the nature of retail post-recession. Gymboree is doing a good one right now if you have Gymbucks to use; I've gotten emails this week from Carter's and Osh Kosh, too.
calishove I just got back from a little strip mall w gap, old navy , carters & Osh kosh. All 4 had big sales.

Stupid question: is it really that unsafe to hang things on the wall of a baby's crib? We were in an apartment with L so didn't do much with decorating. This time I saw some canvas art I liked and was thinking about a wooden plaque with DD's name, but I keep reading not to in case it falls? On the other hand, I feel like there are tons of pics of nurseries with things hanging on the crib wall
I had two painted wooden oars over B's crib, and a lightweight monogram over C's. They were/are hung very securely.
We never had an issue with anything falling but once B was old enough to pull up to standing in the crib, we dropped the mattress and also moved the oars up and out of his reach.

Would his family get together this weekend?
I know they can't tomorrow. They probably could Sunday but dh just doesn't want to ask. We don't even have anything planned, just maybe meeting at a park and/or doing lunch.
Hi ladies! Sorry for the late check in! Baby girl arrived at 3:15 am weighing 7 lbs 2 oz. She and I are doing great! Just tired! Have been trying to catch up on sleep today when possible! Thanks for all your thoughts!

@peachsmama I'm so sorry about your parents. I hope they can find happiness and leave you out of the middle.
Things have been crazy. My sister and her family left on Sunday, which was sad. My parents were suppose to leave Wednesday and my brother on Thursday after his daughter had her follow up appointment for her hand surgery. (From the camping accident) well, my parents didn't leave because my mom ended up in the er Tuesday night with chest pains. She's fine and they ruled out a heart attack, but apparently she made everyone swear not to tell me because she thought I'd panic. I'm a little pissed about that, but glad she's ok. They ended up leaving today.
We also found out the first surgery to my nieces hand didn't fix the tendon so she had to have another surgery yesterday. My brother still had to leave yesterday because their moving van is on the way to Virginia, so my SIL and niece and staying with me for the next week. Which is totally fine, but I'm feeling slightly uncomfortable because I literally only met them a few weeks ago, there is a huge language barrier (she only speaks some English) and there are some religious barriers where I'm worried about misstepping and insulting her. I guess feel uncomfortable because I'm sure she is uncomfortable.
I was just mindlessly talking to MH, and I drank a whole cup of coffee as we chatted. Let's see how this plays out tonight.
I did this last night with sweet tea...then I was so wired and silly at bedtime. I will not bore y'all with tales of my antics, but I do not know why my H stays married to me.
