I know I've been storytiming a lot but I've been dwelling on this one occurrence that happened when we were out at the funeral. A family friend of DH's parents comes up to us. I don't know them, DH used to years ago from back when he was in the boy scouts. The wife asks a little about us but kind of sounds like she's familiar with us so it seems like his parents might have spoken a lil about us. One moment we're talking about DS being in kindergarten, the next she starts talking about how now there's "all sorts of courses at night or even online" I can apparently take. I cut her off & say, oh I have a master's degree. Like ummm...wtf are you implying biatch? What are my ILs saying about me? That I'm completely useless? If I had a fulltime job, who would take DS to school, pick him up, be there for emergencies, appointments, therapy appts? Like he literally just started school fulltime THIS year. I have just gotten a break THIS school year. Preschool was not fulltime. School ends in 6 weeks. If I were working, who would watch him? His camps are not fulltime. Whatever jobs I have applied for certainly do not pay enough to find care for all that time so what's the damn point & no one is going to hire me as a top paying head honcho after being a SAHM all these years, it is what it is. These old people think it's so easy these days but it's just not, it was much easier in their generation. Like I already don't feel like shit when I've been on millions of interviews since graduating however many years ago. Then I had to put this stranger in her place at a funeral of all places. You see what I have to deal with?! wtf?

DS has his 3rd art class after school today so I'm gonna head out soon & pick up a gift for his friend after this episode of Big Love ends. We got him a 2 pack of Monster Jam trucks in his easter basket & he wants to get that for him. It's a good price & I remember hearing this kid say he likes monster trucks back when I first started volunteering in the classroom so I think it's a solid choice. It's a good plan to go by myself so he doesn't get any ideas of picking something out for himself. He seriously got enough for Easter.
R is learning to walk, and the last few days she does this thing where every time she gets out of my lap she'll hold my hands and want to take off walking to the bedrooms. It's totally killing my back and knees to be getting up and down that many times a day and have to hunch over to hold her hands (I have RA). I cannot wait until she's walking on her own. Everything she could be getting into she has been since she's been able to pull herself up, so I'm ready for her to figure this out.
That sucks namastebiotches. I am curious though. What did she say when you told her you have your Master's degree? I am envisioning a very "oh shit, oops" face.
she did have that face & then said oh well then all you have to do is just put it to use.. like no shit sherlock!! Dh & I were just dumbfounded like why are we even talking about this? It wasn't even a discussion so it was super awkward yet again. Like I wasn't looking for advice.
