DD had her 3 year check up today. I'm always interested in the difference between doctors and where everyone is located. Her stats were: Height - 37.5 inches Weight - 32.5
They also checked her hearing and vision, her spine and had me do a little questionnaire with her. Asked verbal questions ("what do you do if you're cold?"), physical things (jump over a piece of paper, write a vertical line, etc.), name a few colors, name/point to pictures etc. There were no shots and nothing I'm concerned about so it was pretty quick and painless. And on the way out she invited her favorite receptionist to her birthday party 😂
The doc commented on how nasally her voice still sounds. Wasn't concerning, but I kind of chuckled inside. Her voice is very different from most we come in contact with, but most of us that see her all the time think it's cute. We got one shot because I think in the early months we pushed one back so that we didn't get 6 at one time. We got a book and overall it went well. And also, we don't need to be seen until she's 5. But I'll probably have her go in at 4 not sure.
bliz1712 we were just saying yesterday how nasal DDs voice sounds. Lol we call her Fran Dresher sometimes. It's cute but I kinda hope she grows out of it. Also, her hearing was perfect....so she's just loud
Where I live doesn't do check ups after 18 months. So... there's a difference
That's like us.
DS did all his tests (like jump over a line, draw a line, build a tower etc) at 2 and a half.
They've finished with him now.
Although he does get an eye test at nursery before starting school - which is how DD1 found out she needed glasses.
Because her eyesight is terrible and DH has severe colour blindness (he only knows red, bright blue, black and white), the rest are all muddled, then DD2 and DS get referred earlier to the hospital eye clinic, which is good.
Looking back, I wish we'd picked up on DD1s eyesight earlier. I just assumed she was clumsy and really rubbish at drawing and colouring in. Instead, she couldn't see where she was going and had no idea how to keep in the lines or see the pages.

Jakob doesn't turn 3 until 5/11 but had his appt early so we could get stuff turned in for ECSE this fall.
He's 39 inches and 35 pounds. Tested his hemoglobin because he's got iron issues. It was good. He's totally healthy medical wise.
They didn't do any other testing because school district just tested for gross/fine, hearing, eyesight, speech, cognitive, and social emotional.
He is diagnosed as a young child with developmental disabilities. Autism spectrum with sensory processing disorder. And he has sound system disorder. He is also hypotonic and uses braces for his feet.
babybarlow2014 how is he overweight? He's taller than DD and only a couple pounds heavier and DD is only 75% for weight. 🤔
He's not. I like to believe she was projecting her personal weight issues onto him. Lol
I really get irritated at overweight health care folks who tell people they're fat when they have no room to talk. She's called him fat before. I said something to the Dr about it.
babybarlow2014 that's bull. I don't know how tall DS1 is but I'm going to guess shorter than yours and last time we were at the dr for a sick visit he was 37 lbs. They only comment we ever get is that he's solid. I would not be happy if they called my child fat.

I reported a medical assistant for weight talk too. She commented I was skinny, so I must come from a skinny family. Um no, and not your business! Now someone else checks my stats before I see the doctor.

DS was 36lbs 2 months ago so he's probably more now. He's tall too. Whenever I've asked about his weight, the pedi said not to worry because he's proportional and has always been a big kid.
Our visit was the normal height, weight, listen to things, look in ears and mouth. They checked blood pressure for the first time, did a vision check "game," and just asked if she can copy drawing a circle or cross, can she jump, 75% understandable speech, etc..

We went this morning 73% in weight and 76% in height. They also checked her eyes, no issues. Glad to hear I had her checked at a year and half because I'm legally blind in my left eye and not much better in the right. So thankful it appears that she hasn't gotten my crappy eyes. No shots.
We went yesterday. Found a surprise ear infection. DD said it hurt a couple times in the last week but I thought she was just trying to get medicine. Oops. Passed the hearing and vision test. Height: 39.5 inches (90%) and weight: 37 pounds (94%) no shots
I keep looking at the immunization schedule, I don't see anything listed for 3 years on the CDC website. Am I missing something? Just checking. It's an early FFFC but I've never had to take DD for shots before, H has always done it for me. This would be a first, so I was trying to prepare myself for the amount she'll receive

No shots at the 3yo visit!
DD will be sad. She really wants an "ouchie shot". Weirdo!
I couldn't remember if I delayed any because of the amount they receive in the beginning.
Funny on the stats. Doctor was saying since DH and I are both over 6 feet, he thinks C will have a rough puberty stage with growth. I grew 6 inches one year. I still remember the pain. Poor Chloe.
She is still such a little peanut. It cracks me up watching her do things and being so darn small.

You're more than 6 ft tall?! I had no idea!
[
I always say 5ft 13 inches lol it feels not as tall. I'm 6ft 1 and H is 6 ft 3
I think Doll15, and I are the tall girl club here. Although DD is on the monster end of the scale. She'll probably be like me and grow steady until senior year then let the boys catch up. Although if I remember right Chloe was blessed with smaller feet for her height.

Yes! lol I actually wear a 9.5 and from what I can tell with other tall girls, that isn't too large. I actually can share shoes with my step mom and my best friend, I'm taller than both of them by 5 inches at least

The lord blessed me with size 12 skis to hold up my body. I'm still clumsy as shit too.

Wow! Happy Birthday to all the May babies! Cannot believe they are 3 already. I forget that all of you are a month ahead. I've been meaning to call the last few weeks to schedule DS' appt since they don't schedule a yr out in advance but couldn't find the time from my insane work schedule. I remembered and scheduled on my walk to work this am since I was going in a bit later and the earliest appt I could get was in mid August! Ugh! Anyways I was actually thinking about asking to be tested for allergies? Have any of you got your tots tested? this would not be food related but other allergies like bee stings and the likes of that? I guess I am paranoid about anaphylaxis reaction. It's hard with flying insects since you really don't know until you're stung and in severe cases, it can be life threatening.
Was our office the only one that doesn't want to see her now until 5? I was considering taking her in around her 4 year bday just for a basic check up, but not sure if it's necessary.
Had our visit yesterday. She was upset from the beginning because she had a bad experience a few weeks ago. She had a cold/ear infection and had to flush her one ear to get the wax out so they could see the ear drum. Not a happy camper then. This visit was routine. Took her blood pressure for the first time. Height: 37.1 Weight: 27.1 She's still on the slender side, but her curve is continuing on the same track, so that's good.

Ds had his visit today. Dh took him, I had a work event so I'm going off of what he said and the after visit summary his pedi posted online.
35 lbs, 38 inches tall. No shots but he did get 4 vials of blood taken. Pedi is concerned about his vitamin levels since he's such a picky eater. Also testing for iron and lead.
Dh asked about his behavior issues with dd. Pedi said it's all normal but she doesn't want hitting and kicking to become habit and branch out to other areas. We have seen improvement lately in his behavior towards her by coaching a lot about hugs and kisses only. It really has made a difference. If he doesn't keep improving or gets worse, she said we should self refer to the behavioral health specialist for a consult.
Next visit at 4 years.
We will continue therapy for speech (receptive expressive language disorder).
