Re: the annual membership to BBB/BedBath&Beyond...Restoration Hardware has gone to that format. You pay an annual fee of around $100 and get 20% off all purchases and I think free shipping (pre-kids I was a gallery manager there). Def worth it if you are making a big furniture purchase or whatnot (or just spending $500/year on random stuff).
Guess it would depend on the price of the membership to determine if I would do it at BBB. I feel like they mark up a lot of their products (vs Target or Amazon) bc they know shoppers will have coupons.
I never noticed if they marked up or not, but I always felt like the list of things that are excluded on the 20% off coupons that they send you is just silly for me to make it worthwhile! Half the time, I forget the coupon, and then I find the coupon and am like oh well I guess I couldn't have used it on what I purchased anyway! That's why I'm curious if they do the membership thing, if everything is included because for me $30 a year is totally worth that!
Loving all the beer talk! We just got back from dinner at a local brewery with two growlers in tow. D tried her first taste of beer there tonight. DS dipped his finger in mine and put it in her mouth 😂

Haha, yeah all the exclusions are basically the big-ticket items you'd most want the coupon for! I mean, I'll take a couple bucks off an outfit or something but it's not a deal breaker, whereas 20% off gear or furniture might be.

kleigh I have not seen Magic Mike and I know people think I'm crazy. And I didn't know butt implants were a real thing lol. Well I've heard of it but didn't know people actually did it.

cookswithwine9 Lilah is barely 13 lbs. She's an itty thing. Even Lillian was marginally heavier. Dr said she looks good and it's probably genetics.
LizInFL Oh BBB and Babies r Us totally inflate their prices. BBB is the worst. We got Lillian a Doc McStuffins doctor kit for Easter. $30 at Babies R Us, $20 at Target. No clue about BBB since there isn't one near us anymore, but online Lilah's highchair was like $20 more for some reason.
waitwhat I'm sorry. Mom guilt sucks. I hope he stays asleep now, though.
FFSC: I dislike beer in general. I like cider and a few lambics. That's it. It tastes like weird bread water to me.

I'm sitting in the dark, Lilah is asleep next to me, and I'm trying to figure out how to breathe. I got another cold. This one comes with the added benefit of being on top of allergies. Soooo congested and uncomfortable. And of course I'm allergic to decongestants so I just took an Allegra hoping that might help. Nope. DH is off chaperoning prom until midnight, so I'm alone, too.
On the bright side, we had a nice day. Our neighborhood had an egg hunt in the park with pony rides, a petting zoo, and treats. Then we finally got a new TV stand! Our living room setup it complete. Now I just get to decorate. My mom brought over pizza so I didn't have to cook which was nice. I'm hoping tomorrow I feel better so we can have another nice day.
waitwhat mom guilt is the worst. But I'm sure J is just fine! I guarantee he will have a big smile for you when you go in to him next (hopefully in the morning). ClassyMrsA I'm sorry you're so congested--that sucks! I hope you can somehow get a good night's sleep.
We I actually had a good night sleep here last night. I went to bed at 9 and H was up with the monitor, apparently C woke up and was inconsolable at 10:30 he ended up resorting to taking him downstairs ad sleeping on the couch with him. This means C didn't wake up until 2:30 to eat. Hallelujah for meeeee. One wake up and I fell right back asleep after and I feel like a brand new woman.
ClassyMrsA Can you use Afrin? That's the only way I could breathe earlier this week,
I've honestly never tried it. I can breathe better today, but now I have a fever. Last night I was having chills and my whole body felt weird. So, maybe not a cold? Or a really bad one.
Well, if it makes anyone feel better, the N16 magical sleeping unicorn has discovered that she can roll over in her crib, and likes to practice in the wee hours. Then she gets stuck and is all, 'wtf, adults, come get meeeeeee'.
Who stole our perfect sleep juju?
Anywho. More packing today and then I'm heading to the children's baptism class at 4:30. DH is going to try and join but I'm not optimistic. This exercise still has another 5 days to go; it has been a brutal week so far.

O STTN! However I had a little too much fun at date night so I slept like crap. Figures. I had to get up at 6 to pump my right boob. Ugh drinking is not even worth it anymore! I'm going to try to take a nap.
waitwhat I hope a day outside will help your B. My B has had a lingering cold, too...I feel like we're so close to being past it, but just can't get over the hump. As much as I value the break preschool provides me--and B loves it--I'm looking forward to the summer just as a break from the germs.

O has started biting me a lot at the end of our nursing sessions. I have been taking him off my breast and saying no when he does it. KellyMom agrees with that approach. It hasn't made a difference yet but it's only been a couple of days. It's pretty painful and I hope he stops. He also does it with the bottle nipple and my H and mom laugh at him. I told them not to laugh and remove the bottle for a moment if he does it. I know nursing and bottle feeding are different but I think it might help to be consistent. Anyone else have any experience with this behavior?
cheshie6 never been to the tulip festival. But let me ask around, I'll get back to you.
cookswithwine9 E was doing that recently. Like you, I pulled her off and said no. She only did it a couple times and hasn't since. I also switched sides to see if she just wasn't getting what she wanted.
I'm trying all kinds of new, crazy crap with D today. She can roll to her side easily now and it's really time to lose the swaddle sack.
For her first nap I put her in a Zippadeedip (or whatever TF it's called) that someone loaned me. Big huge newp. She was awake within 5 minutes of me putting her down, then was cranky because she was still tired. Not really what I had in mind.
The problem is the same as I've had with the Merlin: anytime she stirs in her sleep she is bringing her hands up to her mouth, clasping them together hard, and then basically punching herself awake. If she happens to have a pacifier (she doesn't always want one), she knocks it right out of her mouth and gets even more pissed.
So...she isn't startling. Just touching her face too much. I don't think she needs the swaddle for comfort anymore at all. I think it's simply a matter of keeping her crazy octopus arms contained. And the Merlin and Zippadeedip aren't doing that. Nor is swaddling with one arm out.
So now for second nap I have put her down on her tummy. She does have a pacifier ATM. So far I have seen her stir at least three times but she hasn't woken up. I think a big part of it is that her face against the mattress keeps the paci in when she moves her hand against her face. And obviously her arms aren't swinging wildly around. Maybe this is our solution?
dashook I also experimented with stomach napping today and it seemed to work. I'm thinking that's a good solution for you since her arms are more contained.
For you people that are putting babes on their tummies to nap, do they already consistently roll both ways? I'm tempted to try with E but she doesn't really roll belly to back yet.
She did sleep for about 45 min on her tummy last night (on a hard mattress while I was right next to her).
dashook Sounds like tummy sleeping is working, even though 44 minutes isn't the ideal nap, it's definitely a start. Go D!
J is a mover with her hands as well, She loves to hold something like a light small blanket/cloth, so i might give her that to settle with tonight as I take the drowsy but awake approach, then take away the cloth when she's asleep. Maybe that would help her do something with her hands?
Hm, I'm not sure because the issue is coming up only after she's asleep and I've put her down. I don't think I could leave a lovey or anything in there with her overnight yet.

Yeah, she can roll belly to back. She doesn't do it every time I put her like that because #lazy but she is fully capable of doing it.

Hi all! Survived the wedding last night with N. She was a freaking doll and the baby banz headphones seriously saved the night. The band was so so loud and she was happy as could be with her headphones on and slept in the ring sling. We were out until 10:30...And then she was until 4:30am. Dying a slow death over here now.
Hi! We had the baptism class tonight (aka meeting with the minister...not really sure why it's called a class) and then took another load to the storage unit and had dinner at my parents. DH was able to leave work a bit early so he could join us, which was good. We've been eating take-out like it's our job so it was lovely having a home-cooked meal.
I'm exhausted from all the packing...3 more days and then movers come. I can do this...

I leave a wubba nub in the crib, I think it's technically against safe sleep practices but I feel it's small enough and firm enough that I am not as concerned. C does roll both ways proficiently. C is the same, he wakes himself with his hands and prefers holding something to fall asleep. He actually has done quite well with the zipadeezip since he can hold the cloth of the suit, it took a few nights before he really settled with it though. He is out of it now and his best night's sleep have definitely come when he ends up on his stomach. I say go with it if it works.
