Thanks ladies. You have equipped me with a ton of information so I can go to HR not being super clueless. trixi282 Asher is 8 months now and they will be 14 months apart. I'm pretty sure that the wrinkles and white hair are right around the corner!
junkytrunk I'm due August 16th. I'm getting more excited as I get used to the idea, but my only concern is that I started a new job last September so I don't qualify for FMLA
Definitely talk to HR and discuss... One of my good friends at work got pregnant right after starting at our company (9 years ago) and although when her son was born she had only been there for literally 9 months they told her they would honor the FMLA and she was ok to take 12 weeks. (and got the disability benefits too, so it was only 6wks PTO/unpaid time after that ran out - we accrue starting day 1 of employment).
Legally they of course don't have to stand by it, but depending on your company, they might just say "it's all good, you can take 12 weeks!"
I hope they do!
And congrats on the new job, I can't remember back that far to know if I knew that.... pregnancy brain and all....
I got KU with E about 2 months after starting my new job and I was able to take up to 12 weeks off and got short term disability pay, even though I didn't reach my anniversary of employment until after E was born. Hopefully your company will do the same!

Awesome day to have a baby! It will grow up to be an awesome person! Obviously, since it is my birthday. ;-) lol Congrats! You make beautiful babies; can't wait to see this one on my FB.

OT, but does anyone read Katie Bower's blog? (I think pinkluna used to..) She just announced last week she is pregnant with #4 and she didn't know until she was 18 weeks along. She was still nursing #3 and never had a PP period. Crazy business.
