I'm taking the kids to CFA for breakfast, mostly bc our pantry is getting pretty bare, and then we have a speech check-in for B and need to stop and get a 'sprinkle' gift for a friend. FFMC: I do not love the name they've chosen. I think I'm just going to have something monogrammed with the initials instead of the first name.
Annnd my kid just came out in a winter hat, mittens, shorts and a polo. Go figure.

Morning everyone. We had a busy weekend. We decided to have a little BBQ yesterday and had some friends over. It's been forever since we've seen everyone so that was fun. We decided that everyone will host a BBQ once a month this summer to make sure we see each other at least that often.
I also spent Saturday going through 12 month stuff from SIL. When they didn't give us 12 month stuff before, I thought maybe they gave it to someone else and we were starting from scratch. But no.. we got 2 large bags full from her on Friday. Now I have to return a bunch of new stuff that I bought.
Oh and today is Closing Day Part 2 on our lot! Let's see if this crazy lady goes through with it this time.
Morning! I'm pumping and having my coffee so I thought I'd pop in quick to say hello. We've been busy working on small house projects lately. It's making me so excited for summer. We met some of our neighbors yesterday. They have a 4 & 6 year old. DS1 is very excited to have some new friends to play with. He kept yelling "Hi neighbors" every time we went outside. C is doing well. He turned 5 months old last week and is such a happy guy.

I was up every 1.5/2 hours last night and I didn't go back to sleep after the 3:30am wake up. DS2 would not take a bottle from MH last night either. I truthfully don't know how I'm supposed to function with so little sleep. It's starting to affect (effect?) my work, too. Nothing major, but I'm making a ton of dumb little mistakes daily now, despite double checking my work.
jubilantsquirrel Maybe it's time for some sleep training. I had to break down with M and do it when she was 7 months old because I couldn't function anymore.
I think you're right. I didn't really have to do any sleep training with DS1 so I don't even know where to start. I'll have to do some research and figure something out.
It's weird though, because he always has his longest stretch (3 hours) in the morning. I nurse him at 5am before I leave for work and he always sleeps until 8am. But the rest of the night it's only 2 hour stretches at best unless MH and I are able to do a couple of dream feeds.
jubilantsquirrel Can he roll both ways yet? I can't remember. We put H on his tummy last night. The first 3 times he woke up he put himself back to sleep before I got in there. He only woke up 2 more times after that and one of those was because of a coughing fit. I'm going to try him on his belly again last night. I'm calling it a win though considering he's been waking up so much lately.
So he rolled belly to back for like a week back when he was 6 weeks old but hasn't done it since. He can easily roll back to belly though. I also have him in the Merlin suit. I haven't tried not using it yet, but I can give that a shot as well as see how it goes.
Good Morning all, L and I took all 3 dogs for a walk around the cul-de-sac ! It was an adventure to say the least! I hate bugs but don't want L to be influenced by that so bugs be damned! This Friday is L's hearing test... finally! My mom isn't up yet and the drive is 1.5 hours away and I need to keep him awake so I'm thinking of putting dogs in Daycare for the night Thursday and getting a hotel. @sarahwithanh, good luck today!

H was in the merlin too. I think his hands by his face kept waking him up. How does he do on his belly? He can lift his head up and everything right? As long as he has good head control, I'd try him on his belly and see what happens. If it's worse, you can always put him back in the merlin.
Yes, he has great head control and he's pretty happy when he's on his belly during tummy time. I'll try that tonight, thanks!

cheshie6 I was just thinking about his hearing test. Glad it's finally coming up. I'm keeping my FX that it goes well! I wouldn't worry too much about the rolling. C is one of the older babies and he doesn't roll around much. He would much rather stand it seems.
cheshie6 don't fret! A month is seriously a huge difference at this age, being the youngest baby yours should be the last to roll or close to it. This is when it's tough having the youngest baby.
Definitely going to be a PNR day for me. I'm crushed at work today.
One thing that's exciting this week is that I get to see Cute Partner on Wednesday! I'm going to be down by his new firm so we're getting together for lunch. What to wear...
cheshie6 E is still only rolling back to belly consistently. And she's an older baby. Don't worry about it.
tgrimes1980 I am dreading getting that first pp period. I thought I was getting it around 3 mo pp and I was freaking out. All my sorries as you get through this.
I am just trying to put my house back together after being away for vacation for a week. With E's awesome crib nap this morning I got so much done!! I'm about to attempt the transfer for nap #2 now....
cheshie6 my DS was a late roller. I wouldn't worry! What finally got B to roll was propping a mirror up--he was so curious about the 'other baby' that it was enough to motivate him.
ETA: C is rolling back to belly, but she's really only been doing it consistently for the last week or two. Before that, it was a very occasional thing. To my knowledge, she hasn't made it 100% from belly-to-back.

Omg I had to walk away from my desk for a minute. I don't usually mind these condensed cubes but the person next to me will turn towards my direction to eat his lunch and listening to him chew is making me gag. And I feel like he's just watching what I'm doing on my computer so I have to try to hide TCF. I miss my old private desk.
Happy Monday! Yet another week of solo parenting. H will be gone every night except tomorrow. May should be a little better, but I'm feeling drained after almost a month of basically being on our own.
One exciting bit of news is that my company is announcing a new maternity/paternity leave on Thursday! I've heard a few rumblings, but the fact that guys will get paid leave is big!! I don't know what it means for me since I'm back from leave now, but I've been assured by my bosses boss, that it will include me in some way! Way to move into the 21st century work, good work!
I've been super productive today but motivation is finally starting to wane. Tomorrow I have to sit in a training on how to search a discovery database that we had to hire an outside company to set up for us because there are that many tens of thousands of pages of stuff I have to read through. Like holy fuck. I'm really nervous about this case.
Also tomorrow I'm getting up unbelievably early to go to a 5:45 a.m. Orangetheory class. Before I go I need to pump and also eat a little something, and the studio is 15 minutes away. I'm kind of excited about it though. The idea is that H will work from home in the morning so that I can go to the class, shower there, and head straight to work. We're hoping to make this a once a week thing, because every other day of the week, he is the one that gets to leave the house before everyone else is awake and go work out and do whatever TF he wants with his time while I handle feeding and dressing myself and both kids, greeting and briefing the nanny, etc. etc. Wish me luck. I want this to work but 5:45 is SO EARLY.
Yup. It's weird though because I was spotting yesterday and then stopped. I'm doing the same thing today but these cramps are freakin ridiculous.
I *think* I maybe have had two PP periods, but I'm not sure. The first time was just light spotting for like a day. I didn't even need a liner. I thought it was just random spotting but then about a month later it happened again. This time the spotting lasted 2 days, but again I didn't even need a liner. So, not sure what to think there.
Cramps are the worst. I really hope they let up soon for you!

lol, welcome to my life dashook! I leave for work at 5:20am every.single.GD.day. While 5:45 is super early, I hope this works out for you! Plus, I think getting up really early is easier when it's something you want to do vs have to do.
