Hope you don't mind I'm starting it this week @feegan!
MoM irritation of the day: That moment when you post a before/after shot of one twin and a bunch of people comment about how cute "they" are. As in both. My boys really don't look alike. They're almost 1.5 (not little squishes anymore). One is a blue eyed blond, the other has brown hair and brown eyes. And the caption of the photo made it clear little dude just got a haircut. Wtf?
On our trip this weekend, someone in Walmart said "You're a lucky woman" as they walked by. That was such a wonderful change from the usual comments.
I also met a soon-to-be grandma of twins at the wedding. It was so refreshing to be asked questions because she wanted to know what to expect, not because she was being nosy.

I'm laying on the couch watching two robins try to make a nest on the downspout outside the front window. It was really cool to watch until I realized that these two suck at nest building. I think they lost all the progress they made yesterday and now a bunch of grass/twigs/building materials are hanging down about four feet from where they are building the nest.

Wait , so people thought the before and after pic was two different kids?

Yup, lol.
ETA pics: Two different children The same child before and after a hair cut
Speaking of haircuts, R is scheduled for one tomorrow. I suppose I should get G's hair trimmed at least in the front so it stays out of her food better, but I just can't find a style I like for a little girl.
Sorry your husband wasn't paying attention @feegan! That's frustrating (but total props to you for doing it! I always mean to and then end up paying someone once or twice a year for a full overhaul bc I don't keep up with it)

It was a struggle, but both girls are sleeping in their cribs!! Transitioning from those darn rnp's was a nightmare!! They wake up around 2/3 to eat and then sleep until about 7 so I'm a happy mommy! It was my goal to have them transitioned before going back to work so now I feel so much better about that too!
After two rough months, my girls are finally sleeping better! I put them down at 9pm and A just woke up at 4:15am to eat. I'm going to get L up, feed her, and go right back to sleep. One happy momma over here.
I'm heading up to MI today (yes, again, for the second time in less then a week), but this time it's just the twins and I to see my cousin who's visiting my Grandpa. She's bringing her new baby (well, he's 8 months old now) and I just couldn't not go meet him when it's only a 3.5 hour drive away. We're staying overnight in a hotel, so this will be a first on my own. I'm hoping the hotel has extra staff on hand to help me bring up the PNP's because that's the only thing I'm not sure how to manage on my own with kids in tow. Here's hoping the trip goes smoothly and the kids don't decide to be jerks. Heh.
I'm back to struggling. Last night was so rough that I don't even remember how many times I went into the nursery. H is sending me to sleep somewhere else in the house so I can get a night off.

I'm glad he's giving you a night off! You deserve it!

I'm so sorry you had a rough night, but am happy that you'll have a night off.

I'm so sorry! But yay for a night off. YH has redeemed himself.
I ordered first birthday party invites yesterday. I swear I'm not crying.
OMG!!! Already?!
What is the theme? Tell me more....since I'll probably just copy you. LOL
Bahaha! Theme is rainbow sprinkles (cue all the feels from me because they're my rainbow babies)! We're having it at a metropark pavilion, and I'm living on the edge because their pavilions are first come first serve so we couldn't reserve it. Like heathens, we're holding it during prime church hours on a Sunday to hopefully limit the competition. I plan on sending my sister and SIL over to decorate and stake our claim first thing that morning. I've made banners and have a rough idea for how I'm going to make a poster board collage of all their monthly pictures. So far, the menu includes rainbow veggie wraps, grocery store sheet cake with tons of sprinkles, obvs, rainbow fruit kabobs, and oreos and pretzels dipped in chocolate and covered in...you guessed it...rainbow sprinkles.
Thank guys. Traveling and then coming right back to regular life was hard and we now all seem to have stomach bugs. But! With our raises, we can afford to hire someone to help clean! I just have to contact people.
@feegan One of the hotels we went to had cribs on wheels. The kids loved riding up in it. Alternative: luggage cart.
I tried to wake up MH four times this morning and finally gave up. He stumbled downstairs after I'd given milk to the bigs, changed and dressed all four kids, had the bigs collapse one of the baby gates, and started feeding the littles. All he had to do was pull out the strollers and help load the kids into them. We got the kids to daycare at 7:50am. Only 20 minutes from our goal!
I asked MH what he thought would help us get to daycare earlier. He said practice. I asked him why it took him so long to get downstairs. He fell asleep again. No suggestion for how to get him up so he reliably helps me in the morning. Do not want to manage one more person in the morning or nag him to help me. I would arrange with him that I do drop off and he does pickup, but he's chronically late for pickup too.

A cleaner will change your life. Ours comes 2x/month and it's the best $200 I spend. HANDS DOWN.
pbandj714, That theme is so cute! How are yours that old? I guess I ought to start thinking about a theme so I can plan and practice making their cakes (a bunch of us in my moms group took the wilton class). I don't know if I'm ready for this.

That's our hope. H wants weekly, but I don't think it's in the budget.

Thank you! It's insane. They're just over 10 months so I thought I'd better order them now before I lose track of time and it's too late.
I wish you much luck with the cakes! I considered making them for a hot second (I made our cake and cupcakes for our wedding), but I know it would just stress me out.
