My baby was so hard all day but he has been ok tonight. Had our second wake up and now he is back in his crib.
I hear ringing in my ears from all the crying. I don't know what was wrong. I think maybe his reflux is getting worse because he was throwing up big amounts in an angry way after feedings. My H is home today so I'm glad I won't be alone if baby is hard again today.
Sorry I've been MIA, life w/ a toddler & newborn (and husband), man. All humans are currently asleep so I'm trying to catch up. DD2 slept 930-130, 2-430, and 5ish until now again. If I'm awake when it hits 5 I'm usually up for the day, so once dd2 went back down I got ready for the day, moved to the living room and folded laundry while enjoying a cup of coffee with my good dog (he isn't drinking coffee, just lying calmly on the couch, which is why he's the good one). H goes back to work Thursday..I think the space will be good but I'm bummed our (possibly last) leave together is ending.
Also, I finally called the Dr about DD1's possible allergies yesterday (every time I thought to call before yesterday she seemed better so I waited). The nurse agreed it sounds like allergies but wanted to ask the Dr about meds (she mentioned Claritin or Allegra) b/c she's under 2. I'm hoping we hear back today b/c DD has developed a pretty bad cough and listening to her crying in her sleep and coughing all night is heart breaking
I know the dosage for Benadryl for her..could that help with seasonal allergy symptoms? I've never personally dealt with allergies so don't know if I'm better off waiting for the OK for one of the above mentioned meds or if I should try a dose of Benadryl to see if it helps.
Thanks .! If I don't hear from the Dr this AM I think I'll give a dose. I may try to wait until closer to her nap time in case is knocks her out, at least I'll get a good nap out of her from it.
Also, I'm glad A is less fussy! It can be so frustrating and hard for SO's to not take it personally when baby is extra fussy and they can't interact as happily with them.

I reintroduced the arms-in swaddle last night, and I think it helped DD stay asleep fully until she was actually up. Usually there's a lot of semi-awake time in the morning.
I have more to do today than usual. We need diapers, I have a doctor's appointment, and I'd like to go to new moms group. I have FOMO about missing new moms group, otherwise that would be the thing to cut. We'll see.
kaits8 I always thought benedryl was a really safe drug, so even if you tried it I don't think it would hurt. Hope the nurse gets back to you quickly! Poor girl!
kaits8 benedryl doesn't do much for my seasonal allergies, but it also wouldn't hurt to try. I hope they call back soon.
Well, I guess one upside of shots is the baby slept from 10:30 am to 5 am. H took the 5 am feeding, so I just got up at 6:30 am- the baby is back asleep. I'm having some coffee and pumping. I've taken Reglan a couple times yesterday for nausea, and whoa. Didn't realize til I googled that this medication helps supply. I'm basically pumping constantly. My stomach feels better today, so I'm hoping I feel better and don't need to head to the doctor.
I hope baby wakes up more soon. While the quiet is nice, she's more active now and I know it's because she's still dealing with her shots. She is sleeping comfortably now- no crying in her sleep- so that's helping me just enjoy it. Ha
I was woken by Fin yelling "uh oh mama" over and over. She had her diaper off and was standing in a puddle. I need to get my head wrapped around potty training. But I don't wanna!
Jack is enjoying the over supply that eating a whole row of oreos gave me. He has been nursing now for 45 minutes. He typically is done in 20.
Rainy here today, so I'm thinking maybe I'll find a kid friendly exercise video so we call can get some steps in. Currently all camped out in my bed on our electronics. No good.
I might experiment this milk increase theory with golden Oreos today. It's for a good cause.

Haha- me too! I wonder if the half lb. of Italian cookies I ate yesterday Is responsible for all the pumping I've been doing. Maybe I'm saying reglan, when it's actually cookies!

Also- the nausea started after I ate all those cookies. Am I 5? I literally think I may have eaten myself sick. I'm embarrassed to even admit this. Hahaha.
I know it's because I'm with him all day, but lately in the evenings (especially at bedtime) C prefers me. Last night I fed him, and then H took him for snuggles, hoping C would fall asleep so we could put him down. He started being super fussy and crying. I took him and he calmed down. I know it's because I'm the one with the boobs (ha!) And I'm with him 24/7, but it's frustrating. And it seems to be a newer development.
We're trying to get C down earlier in the evening, but he fights it so hard. He's so used to going down at 10 or after. But even when we do everything we normally do, he still never seems to go down any earlier. Is this just his normal sleep cycle?
For those who take fenugreek, how much per day? Dr said to take enough to smell like maple syrup but didn't say how much.
Also where do you buy brewer's yeast? Couldn't find it at Meijer yesterday
When I took it I think it was a progression of pills...9 on day 1, 10 on day 2... ending at 16 per day. The LC said if I didn't see an increase by then it wasn't working.
@justinslovo How do you feel about mesh ring slings? It's crazy hot where I love and I've been thinking about getting one so I can babywear and not swear to death.

I used a mesh wrap with Fin in the ocean but never a sling. I have heard the fabric can slip sometimes on the rings. I don't have first hand experience with them, but I might point you towards a light linen fabric instead.
Unless of course you are interested in it for being in water then go for it! I think amazon sells some inexpensive options and you could play around with it and return it if you find it doesn't hold tight on the rings.
That's what I was worried about. Slipping and such. They are pretty inexpensive so I could always try it and return it if it doesn't work out.

sterl724 babies have a naturally later sleep rhythm. Some don't go down "for the night" until midnight! I can't remember how old your LO is, but I'd try to embrace his natural rhythm for now and then very slowly work on moving it up.
jnow are you doing saline for that congestion, at least? I recommend the mist. Much easier to administer than the drops! I hope you're all getting better sleep soon.

He gets up at 7 am (give or take 15-20 minutes) like clockwork. I kind of wondered if this was his "normal" for now. While I wish he went down a little earlier, it is nice because we typically only have one wake up.
He's 7 weeks today. (Which is crazy. Makes me realize how lucky I am to be able to take off as much time as I am. I could be prepping to go back to work!
