I wish I could hold baby girl for some of her naps. I am trying to avoid toddler waking her up, though. He's so loud. Our house is small. And if she naps elsewhere I can actually do things and sometimes play with F, which he appreciates.

DS2 naps like 45 minutes at a time 3-4times a day. Sometimes in the pnp sometimes in the car seat. His longest nap is usually in the afternoon in the bouncer. He's had a few crib naps but they are usually short. Sadly he is starting to be sensitive to noise during his naps. It is such a bummer. DS1 startles him with frequency. I really need to start putting DS2 in his room for naps.
Our goal is to have him on a "schedule" by 4-5 months. It will all go to hell when he starts daycare though. Their schedule never lines up with ours.
R is an hour into her second nap of the day. And I'll be putting K down within the hour. The toddler nap is my fave time of day. Does that make me a bad mom? Lol.
No!!! I live for that nap. I purposefully do not schedule anything during that time so I don't "waste" my toddler free window doing something I don't want to. And I am obsessed with my toddler!
I have to thank flyinghorses6 for making a comment about 1.5 hour wakeful periods. I was doing this for her first name but not after that. Since I read that, I've been watching LO and helping her get to sleep easier. I think I've been thinking her sleep was random...but it really isn't. It's like a lightbulb went on!
I feel like I'm doing something wrong? LO just was napping in her crib. She cried after about 35-40 minutes and had eyes wide open, was kicking, and smiled when she saw me. I picked her up, and she's out cold in my arms. How to help her sleep longer in her crib?

Maybe give her 5/10 minutes to see if she'll go back down? Is she swaddled?

Sounds like she woke up after 1 sleep cycle. Basically babies enter a lighter stage of sleep between sleep cycles. Once they learn to put themselves to sleep, they can flow more easily from cycle to cycle. What I try to do is intervene as little as possible. Go in and try shushing her, if that doesn't work pat her bum/belly, if that doesn't work pick up and resettle and put back down. Sometimes I don't stand a chance of settling K back down, other times I can. I'm currently holding her because she has crap napped all day and is making me crazy. I have been struggling with naps and getting her down for the night lately. She's been fighting it like crazy.
