Would anyone be interested in a meal plan Sunday/Monday thread? I love getting inspiration from other people. Since we're all pressed for time, I'd love to hear what y'all are eating. If there's interest, I'll start the thread each week!

I'm hoping to avoid birth control and hold out until H gets a vasectomy. I did the depo shot after DS and would go that route again if I decide to use bc again. Pull out and natural family planning for the win. We may pick up some condoms.

I couldn't do the 2 hour glucose test because I couldn't do it at the lab in town like I was told and I do have to fast. Looks like I'll be spending part of my Saturday morning at the hospital lab. This really messed with my plans of pizza for dinner.
Condoms for us once we hit 6 weeks. I was on the mini pill between DS and DD and it wasn't great so we'll rely on that and breastfeeding for a few months. We want a third so we'll go to NTNP once my body feels good again. I didn't get my period back for over a year last time so not sure condoms are even necessary but I don't want to risk babies barely a year apart just in case.
glb30 Yes to a meal plan thread. I was just making a spreadsheet of things to cook so I can use it for inspiration when I get in a rut. With going back to work soon, meal planning will be even more important.

moutonrouge, the first few months (hell, the first year) are so hard. DH and I had a very hard time when DS was born adjusting to our new normal. Our second rodeo has been much smoother, but we are still squabbling more than normal. Try to give each other space and grace and plan to talk about the challenges you are facing when you are both rested, fed, and not up in your emotions.

I'm on the fence about an IUD. We were already pretty sure that we were two and through and the complications with E's birth just add to that feeling. I think DH will end up with a V, but we aren't quite ready to do the snip. We used condoms successfully for three years between DS and DD, but we were also open to an oops baby. Not so much now. But my body doesn't react well to hormonal bc and the stories of bloodbath periods on the copper IUD scare me. So I haven't decided what I want yet. 😕

I just got the mini pill. Why is it bad? Did it make your supply tank? Or did you just not like it? Sorry. BF is going so well this time I don't want to fuck it up.

Hi twin. I could have written this except change birth complications to minor pregnancy complications and PPD.
It's been a day. We had an incident at preschool this morning that involved DS1 getting hit, baby is fussy from the shot and only wants to be held and the plumber was here during nap time so I couldn't take a shower. Why was the plumber here do you ask? Well because the threenager flushed a bottle of Claritin, a pair of nail clippers and a toothbrush down the toilet.
Then I text DH and find out he took the afternoon off to go golfing and isn't sure when he'll be home because it's his friend's birthday. So I guess it's cool if I just peace out the next time a friend of mine has a birthday? Sigh. #defaultparentproblems

I didn't have any supply issues, it was a personal preference thing. When I first started it, I gained back all the weight I had lost in my first two months post-partum which was annoying. My biggest issue was coming off of it, I was an absolute wreck physically and emotionally for a couple weeks. It wasn't long but I hated that feeling so much that I don't want to go back. I might feel differently if we weren't wanting another baby relatively close in age though, I liked being pretty confident that wasn't going to happen until we were ready last time since I was very committed to taking it at the same time every day.

I am raging hard for you right now
Ha, thanks. DH apparently figured out I wasn't pleased and decided to come home. So that's something at least.
meggypoo1 I never trusted myself on the minipill because of all my OBs warnings about taking it at the same time every day. I was okay with an oops baby last time, but not so much this time! I am team condom until H gets the snip this time around since H is on a medication right now that probably has him shooting blanks anyway.
I'm trying out the implant that goes in your arm. I didn't love the iud idea, and all though I had a good track record with the pill prior to C, I don't trust myself to take the mini pill at the same tune everyday with a LO. His schedule is so irregular still that I'm worried we week end up with an oops if we went that route. The implant is good for three years. It's in, (got it last week) and so far it's ok. Still a little bruised where it was inserted, and a little tender, but it's nice to not have to worry about taking a pill at the same time everyday.
Have any of you considered the mirena? It is safer than the copper iud from what I understand. I had that two different times. The first three years were amazing. No period at all! Eventually my body got used to it our something. and I just spotted lightly off and on most of the time. Honestly, I loved it.
For us.. Well, we got our boy. We are so done. Dh already had the urology consult and is getting it done as soon as he had two sick days available.

Today has been f'ing overwhelming. DS screams bloody murder anytime you even think about touching his infected toe. I can't tell if he's just scared or if it does hurt that bad. It looks better but I think we are taking him to medcheck in the morning. It's storming. The thunder just shook the fucking house. And DH is at work until morning when he comes and gets DS from me at the lab while I do my test.
I need a drink. Plus I think I'm getting DS's cold.

Thanks everyone for the wisdom/commiseration about marriage and newborns. H came home early as a surprise and I got a break to go get my eyebrows waxed. We agreed early morning is not the time for these talks, and both apologized for being jerks this morning.
For anyone wondering I've had both kinds of IUD's. The hormonal ones are great, insertion (for both) for NBD for me.
I had Meirna for years. No periods, never felt it. Loved it, tbh.
Now, and I KNOW I'm a special snowflake, Paraugard was a huge disappointment.
I was told it's just as effective as hormonal BC. IT IS NOT. Hormonal BC is 99.9% effective(including mirena, skyla and such, the copper IUD is only 96-98% effective. Which is why the pregnancy rate is slightly high for copper IUD's.
Also, for about a year my periods were terrible. Very heavy, lots of cramping, just not pretty. But the heaviest periods did taper off and got more manageable. So if you planned on having it the while 10 years it could be worth it if you could ride out those awful ones.
I loved my Mirena, and it seemed to help my skin though, a lot of people say otherwise.

20 minutes is how long it took to change a bandaid. It ended with me pinning him down on his bed. He's asleep in my bed and I forgot to give him cough medicine so who knows how long sleep will actually last.

kaits8 I too had been on the pill for many years before babies 7+ and am now on the mini pill. I also had acne although not severe but bad and the regular pill made it better. After I had my first baby the mini pill did improve my acne and I'm hoping it happens again this time. I have always been good about taking them so it works for me
