My house is done! I love it!

The cedar shakes are not in very good shape, especially on the top, which is why the color looks a bit uneven on the 2nd story. They did their best with what they had to work with.

It's my birthday!

I slept in, the boys got me breakfast from my favorite little mom and pop place (cinnamon rolls the size of your head omg). I got flowers and the boys made cards - DH got me a spa package from this winery we live near that includes a hot stone massage and scalp treatment.

Getting ready to go shopping by myself for a while. No real needs but I have a Sephora gift card from Christmas and a couple things to return at two other places. My parents are taking us out to dinner later for pizza and beer.

Solo today as DH is working. He very rarely works weekends so this sucks especially since I've been feeling pretty blah this week and been cooped up way too much.

Trying to think of somewhere to take the kids this morning. We have no plans this weekend.

@kitchen Yes this week has been very frustrating. I kinda felt like running away but couldn't tell you what I'd rather do instead. Just in a funk. Crap weather isn't helping at all.

Work called, they want me to work a 12 hr day tomorrow. I told them I can only work an 8. I have a feeling they won't be calling me back. Someone will want to work a 12. Sigh.
Today Mark's work warehouse is having a sale, I might hit that up.

hikingmama222 I hope you feel better. The weather and being cooped up affect my mood greatly, so I can imagine how you're feeling.

We've been up since 6:30, so both my kids are used to getting up for daycare at that time. The baby went back down, but DS1 is officially and early riser now. Oh well, I guess. We're productive anyway. Did a lot of little chores around the house this morning and just got back from grocery shopping. They boys have their pics at 2.

It's supposed to rain here for the next 3 days. Like INCHES of rain. 3+ was the last graphic I saw. Le sigh. About the weather affecting my mood....

V is losing her flipping mind this week. Ever since I got back she has been having these epic meltdowns complete with lots of yelling "leave me alone". Omg. Last night she trashed her room and raged for about an hour at bedtime. She obviously needed to GTF to sleep. Then she wanted to take a shower with me this am so I used my shampoo on her hair. Omg the freak out she had over that. I had to fight a wet 30lb maniac just to get it rinsed out of her hair. If this is what I get when I travel I'm going to really avoid it if at all possible.

Plans for today are grocery shopping, running some errands hopefully child free. Or at least toddler free, and having sister and her hubs over for dinner and a game of exploding kittens.

britta that is our typical Saturday morning. Both kids are used to being up super early on the weekdays. It's nice to be done with groceries etc early though.

We hit the new grocery store that opened today - Fresh Thyme. I love it and it's super close to our house.

This afternoon we're heading to an event put on by the local symphony with friends​. There's performances, Dr. Seuss book reading marathon and activity zone. DH volunteered to stay home and clean the house. I'll take that deal.

We've spent most of the day outside. DH is building a raised garden bed and I've just been on kid duty. My parents are coming for dinner tonight. I'm hoping to buy some plants this afternoon or tomorrow.
DD2 has been refusing pureed. I steamed some broccoli and gave her tiny pieces of actual blueberries and scrambled egg. I'm pretty sure she's just over purees and wants to feed herself. I need to figure out what to give her from here on out. And it's soo messy!!

Yassss! Seriously. The rain held off until about 4ish here, so that was nice. But high 40s felt cold after the 82* day we had the other day. Spring and fall are such a joke here. How am I supposed to dress?!

Pics were...a test in patience, that's for sure. H came along, which I knew was a horrible idea, but he insisted. My sister's are horribly behaved, and today was no different, so it took H about 3.5 seconds to get annoyed AF and in a bad mood. He was snapping at DS1 for misbehaving and not listening and I was trying to take it in stride. I imagine it has to be hard for him (DS1) when we're telling him "No" but my niece and nephew continue doing whatever because my sister doesn't seem to care and doesn't correct them. The photographer was waaaayyy over the top trying to get the kids to smile, so in all the group shots DS2 looks terrified. I think her, plus the older kids yelling and laughing, was way overhwhelming him. Thankfully, I did his solo shots first and then the group shots, so I do have some cute ones of him smiling. I'm really happy with the solo shots, but we way overpaid for just those and maybe 2-3 decent group pics. Oh well. What can you do?

britta unless it's family pictures, only I take the kids to the studio. The kids behave better and I can keep my cool without also worrying about keeping DH calm. I'm sure they'd behave your DH also but there's something about having both parents there that equals disaster. We often also pay way too much money for only a couple good shots.

Mr. P is doing photography today for a church. He started at 1 and I have no idea when he'll be done. I think I'm going to go out with the girls to get ice cream. This is also pointing me in the direction of changing medicines because my back has been tense and hurting this whole time because this is not our normal routine and my anxiety is on notice.

DD got asked to go swimming for a friend so she's gone all afternoon. DH and I are tackling the to do list and getting so much accomplished! Crazy how much easier it is to get stuff done with only the baby around.

We're hoping to get our garden in next weekend.

So, so rainy today. On the upside, after almost 3.5 years, MH is thisclose to having our master shower finished. The last of the mosaic tiles went up today, now we just need to caulk and grout. WE'RE SO CLOSE!!! Just in time to sell it, LOL. Rainy days also mean naps, and today in Britta's house, the kids' naps FINALLY lined up, so Britta and Mr. Britta also napped for almost 1.5 glorious hours. I actually dreamed I slept so hard and long. Now we're kicking back watching my fav show on the DVR. I'm enjoying a delightful local vanilla cream ale. BEST.

We had fun at the circus today, but I have to say, it wasn't nearly as good as it was when we saw it a few years ago. I was really hoping for something spectacular for their very last tour. I know they're going out of business because of money issues, but still. This is the end of the Greatest Show on Earth, and that's how I was hoping to remember it. I was disappointed.

DH re-stained our deck yesterday and today we were able to put the canopy on our gazebo, and put out our patio set and bar. I'm so happy to have the deck ready for summer! I hope it's not as hot and humid as it was last summer, so we can actually enjoy it.
