Hmm, I'm a scientist so the logician in me says this can't be true, BUT:
My bday is the 25th. DS was born on the 23rd. My sister's bday is the 8th. My niece was born on the 9th.
That's where it ends though. Everyone else I can think of doesn't fit the pattern. Perhaps logic does win after all.
I thought she was full of shit at first too because she said something about girls beginning to ovulate as soon as they're born, but I can think of a lot of examples in my family where this phonomenon occurs and I was the only person present yesterday that it didn't work for (my birthday is the 19th, DD is the 31st). So, even though she explained it really badly (I will give her the benefit of the doubt and blame the wine) I think she may not be completely crazy.
Bahaha, what? I don't think she knows what ovulation is. Though since DD and I have the same birthday so it does work for us.

It is interesting. I mean, 3 days on either side gives you a 7 day span. So 23% of the month, and possible to have a high percentage.
Kind of like there's a 78% probability 2 people have the same birth month out of 6 people.
Or a 98% of probability that 2 people share the birthday out of 57 people.
RRCS: Temp drop yesterday, back up this morning. I'm trying not to read too much into it. I broke my foot this weekend and I'm on some pretty serious drugs for the pain, so that might be contributing to the fluctuation.
GTKY: Do you have any special "mom" jewelry? No, after this child our family will be complete, so maybe a necklace or ring with birthstones or names.

Age of LO(s): 1, 3
Month/Cycle: 2/1

GTKY: Do you have any special "mom" jewelry? I have a necklace with my first son's birthstone, but nothing for the second, yet. Emeralds are expensive haha. I eventually want something like the enhancers here when we finish - one stone or heart for each child plus my husband. Save

Bonus: One of my two is within 3 of mine. If you want a bigger sample size you could put a poll up on parenting, but my opinion is that it's without a doubt BS.
ETA: that sounded rude. sorry. Here's a cute kitten to make it less rude
I was talking to my neighbor yesterday about DDs upcoming birthday and she was telling me that 75% of women have babies within 3 days of the same day number as their birthday. This is not true for me or my mom or MIL, but it is true of the 3 other neighbors I was hanging out with and all of their moms, so I was wondering how everyone here fell.
Example in case you don't know what I'm asking. My birthday is on the 19th, so 75% of women with birthdays on the 19th would have their babies (or due dates) between the 16th and the 22nd. Does this make any sense. I feel like I'm not making sense.
Not true for me either. I'm the 30th and DD is the 16th. I almost feel like this needs to be a poll (which could just be because I like clicking on things).
This makes a lot more sense than her explaination. I will submit it to the neighborhood committee. Now, what's the probability of me explaining this correctly/in a way that makes sense after a glass of wine? After 2 glasses?
Pretty sure the probability of correctly explaining it is negatively correlated with the number of wine glasses consumed
I was literally LOLing on my way home yesterday thinking about ovulating within three days of my birthday for the rest of my ovulating life...there is just no way. Also, that would require 75% of babies to come out consistently close to the same day of the month mom supposedly ovulated.
On the other hand, the mathematical statics explanation makes complete sense.
GTKY: Do you have any special "mom" jewelry? I have a necklace with my daughter's birthstone, her name hand stamped on a circle, and a moon shape hand stamped with "i love you to the moon and back". Similar to this.

Hmm. I was born the 19th, DD was born the 29th, so not true for me. However, my sister's birthday is the 9th and my niece's birthday is the 8th so it holds true there. Also my mom's b-day was the 20th, which is a number after mine. I think it's bunk though, because what about c-sections and emergency inductions and such?
RRCS: We will start TTC in June, and I was all ready to start temping this morning to get back into the habit and get a baseline. Then I must have turned off my alarm this morning while asleep, because my backup alarm across the room alarm went off and I leapt out of bed to turn it off and forgot to temp. (Backup alarm is because I occasionally turn off my phone alarm when I'm asleep, but mostly it keeps me from snoozing too long because it is so incredibly loud and obnoxious that I'll drag myself out of bed just to avoid it going off).
GTKY: I've never been crazy about pearls, my DS' birthstone, so I didn't really think about getting jewelry. But then my mom and sister came across a pearl ring that was somehow perfectly my style and gave it to me for Christmas. I love it, I wear it all the time.

Age of LO: 4 years
Month/cycle: 4/4
CD/DPO: 17/ 6 I think ? My body is being weird.
RRCS: I think I O'd super early this month, but I really don't know.
GTKY: My daughter and I have matching bracelets that we made together one day that we don't take off. I told her to look at it when she misses me and I find myself doing the same thing while at work. Nothing fancy but it's subtle and cute colors. When she's too cool for me maybe I'll get a ring or something, but for now I love this.
Editing to add that our birthdays aren't within three days of each other but this was true for a few of my friends.
Question for the temping ladies... what thermometer do you use and do you like it? Mine beeps SO MUCH and it wakes DH up sometimes, which I feel bad about because we all need our sleep these days. I counted the other day and it beeped 20 times before giving me my temp, and it is loud. It's a Nexcare. Otherwise I like it, it's always given me readings that match the o-strips and it hasn't run out of battery two year later. Sigh.

Yeah, the Mabis one is what I have. It only beeps at the end. My old one used to beep the whole time and it was annoying. I finally covered the speaker with a piece of tape but I still wasn't sad when it died.
RRCS: Just waiting for my period to stop. At least it wasn't as hellish as usual this time. We were NTNP last cycle, but I think I'll start temping again this cycle just to see what's going on.
GTKY: Do you have any special "mom" jewelry? My H has bought me a couple of necklaces. They're NMS, but the thought is lovely. Eventually I'd like to get a necklace with DD's birthstone.
The crazy math theory works for me and DD (I'm the 23rd, she's the 25th) and for my mom with me (both the 23rd), but it doesn't work for my brother or anyone else, so...
Quick question for all of you.....Does anyone here get cramps during their LP? Like 5 days before AF? Looking back on last cycles it doesn't seem "normal" for me. I've had cramps the last two days (8dpo and 9dpo). They aren't painful like AF cramps, but still pretty strong. Trying not to read into it too much, but hard not to. My temp also dropped 9dpo and now back up this morning at 10dpo. I really don't think this is our month, I just wanted to see if anyone else experiences this? My LPs are 13-14 days. I hate the TWW. Ugh

Yep I cramp pretty solidly through LP, I also get nauseous so early pregnancy symptoms are basically useless for me.

Same here. Cramps, nausea and tender breasts every month. For me AF symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are the same.

I rarely notice PMS symptoms until the day before my period, except the last two cycles I've had a bunch of cramping and sore boobs starting a week (5-7dpo) before. Two cycles ago we were TTA knowing we'd be TTC next and I knew it would mess with my brain the next month (which it did). Now this cycle I'm 8dpo and feeling absolutely nothing again. Bodies are weird.
