imavera it really depends on the situation. A lot of docs now don't give timelines because they are often wrong (research shows that docs are terrible at predicting death). In my experience, they will say something like with treatment, life will be longer, and without treatment your time is X.
I'm not sure I'd share that information if it were me though. I wouldn't really want anyone to treat me any differently.

I remember when dd1 was receiving PT and OT her first year home. The Theripist would stop me from catching her when she fell. They kindly told me it was better to let her fall than to catch her. They said she naturally learned from a fall. If I caught her she would rely on me and not learn what was innate in her.
