How much would you all judge me if I kept DD in day care more or less full time while off on leave? So about 8 months before the summer, then I'd take her out to have two months to spend time together before she starts school...
ETA: I'm not really worried about internet strangers judging me, I'm just considering this option and am looking for feedback/thoughts.
No judgement here, it's actually probably best for her to keep her routine the same. Is she old enough to realize/care your home without her?

She'll be three in December. She LOVES day care and I was thinking the same re: routine. I was also thinking that part of what kept me sane while on leave before was being able to sleep any time the baby slept, not having to get dressed, etc. I think I would be much more susceptible to stress and related effects if I was trying to keep DD busy while also caring for a newborn.
My DD isn't in daycare right now but I have considered starting her back up part time for the same reasons. If it helps with the stress or bonding with your newborn, maybe consider it self care. If she loves it, I say go for it.

No judgment here! My kid is in daycare 2 days a week and I plan on keeping that going. Also hoping my parents will still take him for at least part of the days that they usually watch him. I think it's good for everyone involved!

No judgement ... we plan on keeping DS in daycare when I'm on the leave. He will be 3 in January so similar age to your daughter. He loves school and I want to spend the time focusing on #2/healing from giving birth. I would struggle significantly with a newborn and a toddler at the same time. I know people do it, but I know that's not for me. And I'm in a position where I'm able to make that choice (I know not everyone is and recognize that).

Miss Killjoy, yikes about the explosion! *goes to google*
Also, if your daughter loves it, and you can afford it, I see no reason to take her out of daycare! Even if some mornings you can't get your shit together to get her there on time and you keep her home, it's still awesome for most days to have the option.
I always get nauseous at work right around 10:30 when I switch from coffee to water. I can drink water everywhere else, but it really destroys me at school, which makes no sense, I fill my water bottles at home. It's so frustrating.

DH can suck it. He just told me he doesn't like days when I work from home because I didn't clean up around the house or go grocery shopping. And yes I did tell him that I am still spotting, apparently that doesn't matter. I'm pist at him now.
ETA I told him that he was being insensitive and he rage cleaned for a couple minutes.
I have a new baby friend! Finally! 8lbs 8oz of beautiful little girl.
I haven't heard directly from Mama Bear yet, just her DH. She apparently received the not so great present of a 4th degree tear. They give you pain meds for that, right? I can't even.

We kept DD in daycare for about 6-8 weeks after DS was born. I was planning on SAH, but felt that it would be the best for all of us if we kept her routine for a bit longer. We had fun over the summer, then she started K in the fall.
I'm currently sort of looking into getting DS into a program in the Fall two days a week. No shame here!

Is it the coffee? Or is switching to water after coffee at home similarly not a big deal? Are you eating differently on work days?
It's literally only hen I'm at work. At home I can switch fine. No real difference in eating. I'm a very boring eater with minimal variation in my foods or habits. I cannot figure out why this is happening, but it's seriously every day at school, and only on school days. Maybe it's because I'm up moving around so much. I have no clue.

My son is going to be 3 in June. He was going on days that I worked or was sleeping after a nightshift. When DD was born he went two days a week and is still going two days a week while DH is on paternity leave. DS and DD (who will be 1 when #3 is born) will go to daycare 2 days a week and 1 day a week respectively when the new baby gets here.
I plan on starting DS in nursery in September, just 1 or 2 mornings a week, because by then I'll be 7 months gone and will need the break from the toddler (in a good way I'm sure you all know what I mean) and so when the baby is actually here, DS can still have the mornings there and I get time alone with the baby!

Good morning everyone! Happy Tuesday! I almost vommed this morning while changing DS's shitty diaper. Really wish he would PT. Today is my long day at work, but then I have Wednesday and Thursday off so I guess I can't complain!
You know what I could really use, in addition to constant nausea? Constipation. Yes, universe, great idea. Ugh.
I mean, I am sure it doesn't help that I can barely drink water. I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday and even that was a challenge (but it was Chik Fil A, so I was persistent). I also am not wanting coffee which is probably what normally keeps me so regular.
You just started zofran, right? Constipation is one of the most notorious side effects of that drug. Have you tried a stool softener?
My MIL rang me this morning. Asked how I was, I said "tired, just tired" she replied "oh my god me too, I could barely get out of bed this morning" ... Woman please
My NT scan was this morning - all looks good but it hurt! I do not remember ultrasounds hurting that much last time - I'm not sure if it's because of my c-section scar or just the tech's technique.
And my baby looks just like an alien. I'm going to try to post in the u/s thread.
In other news - I had coffee today!!! Like I saw the Dunkin Donuts sign, walked in, ordered a coffee and was halfway through before I realized - holy shit, I haven't wanted coffee in two months!
Miss Killjoy, I'm late but totally send your daughter to daycare! My MIL asked me if I was going to take her out while I was home - um....no, I'm going to spend some one on one time (read: nap) with the new baby.
grumpycat88, Your H gets a demerit for his behavior yesterday. How is it going? Are you still spotting?
@annperkins, I'm just going to ignore the fact that there is such a thing as a 4th degree tear.

Also, I almost started bawling listening to my 3 year old belt out The Weeknd's I Feel It Coming while we were on our way to the gym. Maybe I'm just having a very pregnant day.

peggels24 yea he was an ass. He apologized. He struggled to understand how worried I've been because of the spotting bc rationally it's 98% nothing. That less than 2% freaks me out.
"I'm worried that I'm having a miscarriage and you come home to give me shit about not emptying the dishwasher?! Are you fucking kidding me?"
Logic is lost to me when I'm super emotional.
Spotting is even lighter brown now. So almost gone.
