Hanging out at my mom's today so she can get prepared for watching the twins on Mondays for a month. My aunt came over to see them too. Watching these two sisters are hilarious.
@feegan kids are such punks sometimes! Same to you HeyMrsPotter- I hope they don't make the screaming a regular thing!
nic1231 and callmeKD, do you have all the feels or are you excited to get back to work?
Raining here today too. Izzi and I are enjoying some alone time while the other 2 children nap. It's nice. Even if she is ignoring me and about to pass out.
Oh, will you guys TTMA the twin z pillow? Do you all love it as a nursing pillow or am I missing something? We only use it around here to prop up the girls once in a while. I find it too bulky to use for nursing. H seems to think $100 for a pillow used to prop up babies for a couple months is excessive but before I sell it, just want to make sure I'm not missing some amazing other use for it down the line.

I never used it as a nursing pillow. But mine love to just chill in it while i'm (bottle) feeding them on my bed. Or we sing songs in it. Basically, we use it all the time. But I have an IRL twin mom friend who hated it. Just preference, I suppose.

I used it briefly for nursing but found it didn't hold my girls up high enough and I ended up leaning over to bring my boobs down to them. But I looovvveeeee it for bottle feeding. It's the perfect angle to feed bottles to both babies at once and I can even use my body/boob to hold one bottle in place which gives me one hand free. Even at 8 weeks they still nap in it as well. However I bought mine used for $30 so I have no regrets. Had I spent $100 on it I might have felt guilty about not using it for nursing.

I'm the opposite as far as maternity leave goes. I'm dreading going back. I wasn't happy in my career to begin with and I feel so much happier and calmer being at home with my girls. So the compromise is I'm only going back part time (2 days a week in the office plus 1 day working from home). I think (hope) it will be a good balance.

We went grocery shopping yesterday. I had the double frame stroller and DH pushed the grocery cart. I kind of hate going to stores because it's always a big circus answering questions about twins. So this lady comes up to us and I'm immediately trying to hustle out of there. She goes "twins?" And I said yes twin girls. And the lady said "you are so blessed. I bet your heart is so full" and walked away. I was floored. People usually say we have our hands full or double trouble or better me than them or some other somewhat negative comment. This lady was a breath of fresh air. Yes!!!! We are SO blessed.

MH thinks older people tend to say "blessed" and younger people say "hands full." In either case, comments every time we're out.

Nope, I did not love it. I feel trapped under nursing pillows. I occasionally use it now to bottle feed both at the same time but I really don't think you need it.
DVMmomma, is your ticker right - they're 4 weeks old already?? Time flies!
mustloveerica, thanks for posting pics! I'm a visual person, and they look quite content!
@feegan, I'm glad you feel good about the weekend and your husband.
Today was the day of odd choices. Today was my husband's day off. Instead of checking off the last few to-do list items and cleaning the inside of the house, I wanted to drive around to garden stores to get plants for our front yard. We ripped old shrubs out last summer, didn't get around to planting in the fall, and my nesting was telling me it HAD to be done. At least when we get visitors next week, they'll have nice landscaping to look at rather than a clean house. Oops.

We ALWAYS have the girls propped in it. Like, constantly. I do all feeds in it. Plus, I find it very comfortable to sleep on
river, yes! The ticker is right. They were 4 weeks old yesterday. So crazy
@wineandcupcakes and mustloveerica, how do you sleep on it? Like as a pillow in one of the holes?
Yes.
lol I just lay across it long ways I guess if the girls are on their play mat. Or if I'm watching tv I lay in one of the holes with my head propped up. It's really more of a I'll lay down anywhere tool when you're sleep deprived with twins.
DVMmomma, It's all preference. I feel like if you don't love it now, you probably won't love it more down the line. My girls are 8 months and we use it every day, multiple times a day. When they were teeny I could only tandem nurse with it and they also slept in it often. We weaned to bottled at 6 months and I prop them in it to tandem bottle feed. I'm really tall so found it a little low for tandem nursing, but I often put a couch pillow under the front to bring their heads up higher.

This. I had to use additional pillows with it for nursing, but for bottles it's amazing. In the early days I had to supplement bottles after nursing and then went to bottles full time, so it was a must. Especially first thing in the morning or doing bedtime solo. We also really loved it for modified tummy time that didn't make the kids scream bloody murder. My H has fallen asleep on it countless times if he lays down next to G's crib on a difficult night.
Thanks everyone! I hadn't really thought about how H would bottle feed and now that you all mention it, I can't picture any other way. I also want to take a nap on it now. I think I'll hang on to it for a while and see how I like it when they get a bit bigger. Right now they only last like 10 minutes and then get pissy for a nap or a boob.
While I don't think I'm cut out for a SAHM I'd definitely like to be part time but that's not in the cards.
I'm debating on calling my OB to ask for Reglan to boost my supply. Week 2 at work and today only pumped 19 ounces in a total of 5 pumps. So frustrating!! I eat plenty, drink even more. Anyone else try Reglan? Did it work?
