So far so good. It's been 2 weeks since my cerclage was placed and today I'll go to the MFM for a cervical check and ultrasound. Hoping my cervix cooperates this time and stays at 3cm or more!

Currently. Everything looks good. I go to the ob Friday for my first visit of second trimester. I expect to do bloodwork and a second 24hr urine sample. My bp is fantastic still. Home readings are 115/74 or so consistently. But, it's still early. Pree signs started around 32wks-35wks with DS. I'm only 15wks now. So, I have a ways to go right now.

Is there a reason they would do another 24 hour? My MFM said after that first baseline they're able to now do everything from normal urine samples and she's hopeful I won't have to repeat the 24 hour.
i hadn't heard that. I failed my first one. My urine was too diluted. So they don't have a full baseline sample. They did a creatinine and protein blood sample, which was fine, but they don't have my baseline urine protein.
Personally, I want to do another. I know it's a nuisance. But I want to make sure the numbers aren't climbing. I don't know for sure they will ask. It is just my assumption.
Dirty semi-lurker since I had pre-e last time but no one seems concerned yet this time.
Has anyone with pre-e concerns been told to follow a certain diet? No caffeine/low sodium? My midwife has said nothing but I was also the one who had to bring up baby aspirin with her, so there's that.

I was not given instructions on diet specifically. Just eat balanced and don't gain a bunch of weight. I already don't drink caffeine and with my Hough blood pressure I'm always watching sodium anyway. Maybe that's why nothing was mentioned?
I kind of hate the "don't gain a bunch of weight" directions.. I felt like all rules of calories and math went out the window when I was pregnant with DS. What and how much I ate or exercised didn't seem to corrolate with my weekly weigh-ins. I know now it was probably due to water retention, but the doctor who induced me (never met him before that) really busted my chops about gaining so much in third tri last time. Like 6 lbs in 4 days? I was not eating THAT much, Dr. JudgyMcJerkface! .

i didn't get diet instructions. They did say the whole, your weight goal is x pounds. But I'm just rolling with what happens right now. My prebaby clothes still fit. My jeans are still falling off..it is only in my stomach. I can't wear my high waisted dress slacks, but let's be real...I'm 15wks pregnant. I have gained about 6pounds in 15 wks. Personally, I'm okay with that. I am trying not to get upset about the weight gain. I am constantly hungry. So I am constantly eating. And I do not have any energy or lung capacity to exercise. I do take the baby aspirin. I brought it up, but she was adamant that I begin it ASAP.

That makes sense if they didn't get all the information from the first one.
My MFM was telling me they (at least in their practice) no longer induce early for just protein in the urine. Even if numbers are climbing. That being said, if there are other factors, like impaired liver function, other pre-e symptoms (headaches/blurred vision) then they'll induce. She said recent studies have shown that increased protein in the urine alone isn't enough to warrant induction. The other factors are more concerning.
my bp was 160/110. My ob was on call when the office sent me to triage. She said, no matter what this urine test says, you aren't leaving; you are having this baby. Looking back at my medical records, I can see my liver and kidney enzymes were already increasing. I was 37wks on the dot. I don't doubt that induction was the right decision. Mag was miserable. A baby that was small was miserable. But both of us alive is much better.

Oh yeah, BP is definitely the other big factor. Especially if it's rising and IV meds are having no impact. I totally agree that induction was definitely the right choice. I was on hospital bed rest for a week before induction as they monitored everything and made their decision. I think I did 3 24-hour catches during that time so I was surprised when the MFM said she was hoping I would only have to do the one this time.
I was almost induced at 31 weeks because my blood pressure had spiked really high and had the IV meds not brought it down they would have pulled her out. That was the only time I felt actual panic during my pregnancy because it was the closest I felt we were in an emergency situation. The IV meds brought my BP down though, and they monitored me overnight, shot me Up With steroids, and put me on bed rest.
