katrine05, sounds like its going well house-wise, FX'd! becole ditto to feeling like I have an endless checklist and DH doesn't help with most of it. He keeps saying he's going to do things and never, ever gets around to any of it. Make a vet appointment for the rabbit? He's been mentioning for two months and still hasn't, so I am just gonna call today. /headdesk adouces06, poor dude, hope he feels better soon!
I am so freaking exhausted this morning I was nodding off driving into work. And I got some decent sleep. At least 7ish hours with only one, brief wakeup, I shouldn't be falling asleep at the wheel. Worried maybe there's an issue with my thyroid cause it's been this way for a few weeks. My mom and sis both have hypothyroidism so it runs in the family. I know it's not common til after 35, but my hair is also falling out again. Bah. Maybe I'll call my doctor if this continues for another couple of weeks.
You can become hypothyroid after pregnancy and delivery. Its called post partum thyroidosis or something like that. That is how they found mine.

Here's something else I am irrationally upset about today. I was poking around my alma mater's website, and I noticed that the residence hall I lived in for 2.5 years, and the one MH lived in for his first 2.5 years, was renamed last month. The building was named after a benefactor of the university, and the person it was renamed for is also a major benefactor who pledged a large amount of money. I know it's silly, but that building was very important to MH's and my relationship. If we could have done engagement pics there, I totally would have (our photographer was based in MA and wasn't able to come down).

Did you just start back on the Zoloft? I swear it's making me exhausted and weak.
jwinct and smallpotato, The district has a before and after school program but only at certain elementary schools. It is my understanding that they do NOT bus between schools. Unfortunately, DS1's school does not have a program.
I really don't like having DS2 at a center. The other two kids were at an in-home daycare at this age and they had much better schedules because they could sleep in another room and not be woken up by other crying babies. The center also pushes them to drop to one nap before 12 months. My kids still need two naps at 12 months. Ideally I'd find an in-home babysitter for DS2 now that could take DS1 before and after school when the time comes. I'm sure it's just a pipe dream. Things will fall into place when the time is right.
erien22846 - I can't believe they don't bus between schools. Maybe they will by the time he goes to school. Or maybe, if you can't find an in-home daycare, you can find a daycare that does before/after school care and either have the bus pick him up there or have them drive him, if they have their own van. That's what we did with DD1 when she was in Kindergarten and 1st grade, before we enrolled them in the school's program when DD2 started Kindergarten.
Why is it so GD difficult to get mental health care in the US through medical insurance?
What are they giving you a hard time about? Who to see?
I find it frustrating that mental health is separate from other medical services (even though there's "parity"), so separate search function to find in-network physician. Then it took five calls to find one that was accepting new patients.
On the bright side, only a two-week wait for an appointed which is faster than I anticipated.

The MHPAEA law allowed way too many loopholes by requiring parity only within a category. So really easily a plan can require a deductible to be met on mental health but have a copay for med/ surg. It's not right. It sucks actually.

I find then the $50 copay per visit the icing on the cake
@kitchen I did little squirts with the syringe into the cheek, switching sides with each little press. The first time, most of it was spit out, but was better after that. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!
@kitchen not helpful because you nurse, but when DS2 started Zantac I had to squirt some into his cheek and immediately stuff a bottle into his mouth. I'm sorry. That sucks.
+ whatever to being SO EXHAUSTED. I'm go-go-go from 4:45 until 10 most days. And still can't get everything done. My IRL O16 friend was working as well today and we were musing about whether we'd ever feel caught up on sleep. My guess is no.
Work was busy, but not as chaotic as yesterday. As I anticipated, I discharged or signed off half of my patients. A few more should go tomorrow. Hallelujah.
I didn't have a chance to call the Vascular Surgery group today...hopefully tomorrow. My legs feel better today after wearing compression socks and appropriate shoes. It ebbs and flows.
Hi all. Baby has a raging ear infection. I have no effing idea how to get the antibiotics into him. I tried all of my usual tricks and he projectile vomited everywhere. Kept vomiting it up for the next 10 minutes.
The nurse suggested that the medicine is very important and that I should try squirting it into his cheek. So that was unhelpful AF because obviously.
I would try: 1Pump and put medicine in 2 ounces of breastmilk 2Mix into yogurt or avocado and feed 3 the doc can give an antibiotic shot- I think it's two shots a few days apart- if he won't take it. They mentioned that to me when my little wouldn't swallow anything.

That's lame. I just went to my OB for the meds side so I don't even know how they could separate that. Sorry it's so hard but I'm glad they can get you in pretty quickly.
