For those of you who have had a labor buddy before, can you help me understand the benefits? Not sure if I want in or not. We tend to be super private and last time I was totally in the zone with labor and didn't want anyone checking up on me. We didn't tell anyone what was going on (including our parents) until DS was born. Thoughts?
DD lost and born 9/18/2013 at 24 weeks (Trisomy 18) DS born 6/16/2015 (at 39 weeks 6 days, after emergency cerclage at 23 weeks and 14 weeks of bed rest)
salmon2017 it was nice to not have to inform the board if you disappeared for a few days. It wasn't like live blogging labor though some people's labor buddies did. Mine was like adding the person to my group message that hey I'm in labor and hey baby is here.

I didn't do a labour buddy in my S15 group, because I felt like it was just as easy to post it to the board as it was to text someone. So that's what I did and what I'll do again this time.SaveSave

This is what I was thinking, too. But then I thought.... eh, maybe it is easier to send a text on the way to the hospital and at some point after baby is born. The details you provide are up to you, of course, no matter what. I'll probably just send a text: "Hey, let S17 know we're headed to the hospital!" (However I won't send it if we happen to leave for the hospital at, say, 2AM.) Then I'll probably send a second text after baby arrives saying something like: "Baby Little Star was born on ___ and it's a ___! Everyone is doing well." I'm a pretty private person, too, salmon2017 , so that's probably as much as I'd share thru text and on the board anyway. Sorry -- maybe I'm going to be a boring labor buddy. 😔
ETA If we decide not to buddy up, though, I'll just post on the board. Or if theres an odd number, I'm fine with no buddy. I'm happy either way.

Thanks for elaborating for me! I think I will give it a miss - I will plan to post when things get started if I remember, or you will just get a birth story once it's all over!

Yeah. I can do either. I'm happy to just post here on the board after LO is born.

I'll probably skip, more just because I'm nervous that I won't be a good buddy for the person I'm supposed to post for, since I'm likely to be the first person to go and then I'll (hopefully) be home with twins, am a FTM, etc. That said, I'm excited to follow everyone else and I'll definitely post my own updates. I'm always on tapatalk and I'm sure my phone will be close by as soon as I'm ready to update! I also might end up a scheduled C, if I make it that far, so at least there's a heads up

I like the idea of having a buddy, but I'll probably skip too. I didn't have a labor buddy on Jan 15 either. For me, it's just as easy to post on Tapatalk and I won't have to worry about posting an update late in the night and waking someone up.
