Yesterday was a decent day. I managed to squeeze in an nap, and C went down easily and a little earlier than normal. I was actually in bed by ten!
I'm going to her a haircut today. I haven't had it cut since August or September. I'm trying a new place/girl closer to my house. (Last girl I saw was an hour away, and her rates increased and it was all just too much. Hoping I like this girl.
I was going to take C with me. I talked to my mom last night. She usually is busy on Friday's, so I never even considered asking her to watch the baby, but she told me she is available this week. So she is going to come babysit so I don't have to take the baby. I'm excited for some me time.
Yup..A going to bed early backfired. I dream fed her around 10, but she woke up at midnight and was up every 30-60 mins from then on. It's only 5am and I can already tell it's gonna be a long day.

Up for the day. I think I got 6 hours of sleep so that feels awesome. DD is becoming squirmy on the boob already at the ripe old age of 8 weeks and as a result I have milk all over my shirt. She's a nibshit like her brother.
@justinslovo I hope you get to the salon chair soon! Hah.
I'm here. Up for the day. This AM, I am taking the dog to the vet for some bloodwork prior to his teeth cleaning next week. He's scared of the vet, so I hope he's not too crazy as J will be with us.
But! My H is not going back to work after court this AM. He should be home around 11 am. At 4 pm, we are taking J to a tap takeover around the corner and we're going to sample a few different beers. Tomorrow, a friend is baby-sitting and we're having a date night! This should be a pretty good weekend. 😊Oh, and this afternoon, I am meeting J's teacher in her daycare class. I don't think I mentioned that J is going to daycare 3 days a week, the week before I go back. I didn't want her first day at "school" to be super long, so she is easing in, and I am too. (I didn't want to be crying at my desk, totally distracted). I can also "drop-in" anytime, so this will give me the ability to visit her on her first few days, do a feeding, etc. I've felt much better since I came up with this idea.
renegadewhit I was able to get her into another daycare right around here. They were opening up a new room, so had space for 4 more babes. I love your return to work schedule. I am going to TRY and work from home one day a week, but there are never any guarantees w my schedule, and I'm never totally sure if my bosses actually are totally cool with it, so I try and do it when they are out of the office too.
We're going to visit a friend tomorrow and I need to sort out what to bring for a day away from home. Any suggestions? They have a PNP and the same stroller we have. I know we'll need some outfits, diapers and wipes, and I'll probably bring the ring sling and the carrier DH prefers. Do I need to bring toys or just let people passing her around be the entertainment?
moutonrouge I always bring 2 blankets in case there isn't a place for her to hang when people aren't holding her. And for tummy time. I usually bring a few small toys that fit in my diaper bag.
Like, with no wake-ups?!?!?! Holy shit, I want this. How old is DD now? Maybe it's time I go ahead and move up her bedtime and hope I get the same results.
Anothee fffc. for the life of me I can't find the 2 sets of kid finger nail clippers. Poor Jack. I've cut his skin twice now with the adult clippers. I should suck it up and buy a new pair, but I probably wont.
Last day of leave. I have been having dreams with my coworkers in them so I must be ready to go back. I'm not sure how getting out the door in the morning will go, but we will figure it out. Thankfully it is ok if I am not at work right at 8, so I don't have to stress about it.
For the FTMs going back, I felt like the week leading up to going back to work was much worse emotionally than actually being at work. Once I was back, I was busy so I didn't have time to think about missing DD. It's not that I didn't miss her, but I wasn't sad about it.
madameovary fingers crossed that LO apps catching it!
erinshelley21 C is also 8 weeks and much more squirmy while eating than he used to be! Also, I hope you and suelou18 have a great last day of leave with happy babies and lots of snuggles.
@priss08 I have a pretty good sleeper, but even I'm jealous!!
Only 1.5 hours of evening fussy time yesterday instead of 3-5 for the rest of the week, yay! DD has also been doing a 4+ hour stretch at night which is exciting. A lot of this week has been rough but maybe things are getting better now.

She will be 9 weeks Monday. She's also almost 12lbs.

I feel i should add that my DS didn't do this till like 8 months.

B will be 8 weeks on Monday and is almost 13lbs. Hmmm...I'm tempted to try this out.
However, we leave for vacation next Saturday and I feel like routines and sleep will be hell anyways so probably not worth trying until we get back.

I know lots of people are sceptical but I give a lot of credit to the MOC method.
We've been doing MOC but I haven't been as strict with it as I probably should. Like, when he wakes in MOTN, I give him the boob. I don't always wait the 5 minutes so I'm likely not helping myself.

I'm waiting for the mw at y 6 week appointment. I'm really hoping I get cleared for exercise, but I still have a small unhealed spot in my incision, so who knows.
Why is my baby not sleeping long stretches like your babies!?
Typical night is feeds at 9:00 pm, extreme fussy/crying at 9:30pm, then out by 10pm and laid in crib while I also go to sleep in the nursey. Awake anywhere between 1-2 am for the first feed. Usually can nurse this feed and get him back down. The up a second time, usually only 1-2 hour of stretch for a nurse and also bottle feed. Then have to burp lots and keep him elevated for 30 mins -this takes an hour. Then down again for an hour and up again for the day.
My baby naps some days around 7:30pm but only for 1.5hrs usually.
@justinslovo, do you have any nail files? I've been using that.
Also, I think I just decided to wean from the pump. I'm already down to 3 pumps a day and almost all of her bottles are formula already. I am proud we hit 6 weeks (probably 8 by the time we're done, since I'll slowly drop the pumps to avoid infection), but also a little sad too. But I know this was the way to go- I did a few weeks of 6-8 pumps a day then went down to 4-6 then 3. My anxiety has been non existent this way, and my OB said she was super impressed that I managed to pump without stressing over it or freaking out. And that any breast milk was still beneficial to A.
Hugs. Pumping is so hard. I'm glad you are feeling better about it. You did/are doing a great job at feeding baby. From one pumping mom to another.
