She does scraptbooking and bakes and they have a ton of baking stuff. Plus some nice decor. I know she likes hobby lobby too but no thank you.
Get something small and cute to attach it to. That way it's personalized but way way less work.
...I'm currently searching the anthropologie sale section for something good. We got my parents an Easter basket and I used up all my gift ideas on that :/
I found a little sign that has patio rules in red, white, and blue and went with that and the gift card. I feel good about that. And I found ceramic mugs the kids can paint and then you put in the oven for grandmothers. Win!
The past 2 days I've been getting terrible headaches in the afternoon. I mentioned it to my personal trainer yesterday, and after I was done warming up and stretching, he was going to do a quick rub of my shoulders to see if he could find any knots that might be contributing.
My shoulder massage ended up lasting over half our session. My entire left shoulder was one big knot. He said, "Damn girl, my lats aren't even this hard and I work them out on purpose. I don't know how any blood is even getting to your brain. No wonder you have headaches. Look at all this stress!"
So I hardly got a workout, but I did get all the knots massaged out of my shoulders and I feel much better today. (But, yeah, definitely something to that stress you mentioned yesterday 360blessings)

Today is my first day back in the office since my dad died. I took ONE day off after he died then worked from home for 2 days.
My jerkface boss pulls me into a room and says that he's sorry for my loss but I better not let any timelines get messed up for projects. Wtf. I have never done that. I'm one of the most responsible workers on the team. I'm so mad.
Also, I've probably mentioned this before but DS is a lover and loves to hug and kiss people. We are working on the "please don't kiss people we don't know because that might make them uncomfortable". So we're at chick fil a and he just said hi to 2 other adults and then turned to me and said "mommy I did so good! I said hi to those grown ups but didn't kiss them!"

Wtf? Do you have an HR dept to talk to? That is some bullshit and totally unacceptable.

@justinslovo he said it was short but he thinks it went well! It was with 3 people. The person who would be his boss said they would be in touch on Monday to arrange a second interview so that sounds promising? I would be so happy to tell my boss to GTFO.

lonegalathome we also had an early Sesame Street dance party. We were up at 4:30. At 5:30 I gave up hope that Ella would go back to sleep and turned Sesame Street on in our bedroom. Girlfriend danced like her life depended on it to every.single.song. And would pat me on the head if I started to doze, she wanted an audience.
So tired. I got home at midnight from a private screening of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (such a good movie!) I was wired and didn't fall asleep until almost 2. I need like 11 more hours of sleep. Caffeine ain't cutting it. 😴😴😴
I have had a weird but goodish day. The not-really-an-interview went well. But while I was waiting two of my coworkers including the one who sits right next to me came in. I knew they split their time between our office and another but didn't realize the other was in this building across campus. Oh well. Worst that they do is tell my BD that I was meeting with another business director. Anyway the new BD is putting out feelers because her person is interviewing and likely to get a promotion to another division. She is very encouraging of his professional growth and doesn't want to hold him back. That sounds nice as most BDs try to hold on to their people. I am meeting with him next week.
After our meeting I headed back to my office and within 30 minutes my vision started getting wonky with tunnel vision, flashing and black spots and I could read anything on my monitors. No headache or other symptoms but when I told another coworker in case I fell out or something she called our safe line. They told me to call our employee clinic. The clinic only has a voicemail line and doesn't accept walk-ins. They finally call me back 45 minutes later after the flashing has subsided and said they will have to call back to see if the doctor there today can help me. :/. 2.5 hours later and still no call. Found a friend with a bp cuff and it was 161/100 and pulse 110. It came down a bit after but is still pretty high.
I stopped by my BDs office to tell her what was going on and requested a one on one to touch base next week about my professional growth and development. We scheduled a meeting and when I got back to my desk she emailed me that she was giving me a special merit bonus of one weeks pay as a thank you for helping with one of her new divisions. I was shocked but very appreciative.
Now I'm home and hoping to get my bp under control so I can enjoy our night out.
I really want to do something fun with MH and R tonight, but I can't think of what. R is such a maniac these days and won't be contained in any stroller or highchair, so it's never relaxing when we take him anywhere. I just feel like we need a fun night out together. We're all kinda blah. (Well, not R. He's never blah.)
Sam completely screamed and flipped the f out during nap time today and even though he was up for some cuddling he was up for no sleeping. So my afternoon plans of either doing yoga or running on the treadmill were replaced with angrily eating Froot Loops out of the box standing at my kitchen counter.
This famous DJ/producer just released his new music video and it was filmed at my school. You can see my entire school. It's so weird. And SO random. Like, of all the schools, why mine? It's old and crumbling af and doesn't look like a traditional HS like you see in the media.
The kids are all abuzz. It is pretty cool...we don't have too many claims to fame. (Just one super hot TV actor alum. LOL)

swarley, that is crazy! Our math program just teaches them the basic fractions like half and quarter. I am afraid for my own DD who will be in third grade next year.

The 3rd grade test was crazy- all word problems with multiplication. I was telling a co-worker no wonder the kids hate school so much, they're expected to work at levels that are almost a year ahead and for most of the kids on plans like 3 years ahead of where they truly are at.
I had to pull something from the pep rally last minute so I taught 7 boys a short cheer in 20 minutes and threw them out there. They did so good and everyone loved it!! I absolutely love this group so much, I'm going to miss them. M
Now to relax for the weekend, 4 days of testing next week. Yuck.
H and I both work all weekend so W went to H's parents house. He bawled when we put him in the crib. I wanted to stay until he calmed down but H wanted to get on the road. I feel horrible leaving, but he's safe.
Part of the problem is he isn't as comfortable with H's parents as mine. He could be staying with mine this weekend, but we're trying not to show favoritism. And it's good for him to hang out with the other grandparents too. Mom guilt is hard. I want to snuggle my baby.
MH and I both fell asleep on the couch when he got off work. Luckily I woke up after only about 10 min and R was just sitting there watching Lion Guard. MH is still asleep, even with R climbing on him like a jungle gym.
I'm shoving the last of my Cadbury mini eggs in my face in lieu of dinner. F my diet, apparently. MH is asleep, so he can't judge me.
