I actually sort of get why people eat at places like Olive Garden when they're traveling. Travel can be a little scary and sometimes at the end of the day you want something familiar where you know exactly what you're going to get.
I will say that I consider Olive Garden "Italian" about as much as I consider chipotle "Mexican" (not at all).

One of our neighbors is getting her (masters?) in early childhood education (also a question mark). I know she's doing something at USC involving kids and education. Anyway, she asked me if she could spend a little time each week with Bill to play with him and observe him to help her come up with a topic for a paper. Even though she's basically a stranger, for the last few weeks I've let her play with Bill in our living room while I lie in bed reading. I should probably monitor them, but I figure our house is so small that I can basically hear everything andplusalso I don't want to leave my bed.
cornpop311, I have an email address for EE. I figured that way she'll have one that is some semblance of her name vs pinkbattlefrog15 when she is older.
Many people in H's family have gotten engaged at Olive Garden. I do like going there once in a while though, and it's an easy place to bring a toddler and baby.

Because of this thread I tried to grab the gmail account for E where firstname.lastname and firstnamelastname at gmail but they are both taken and now I'm really stressed out about what she will use as an email when she's older.

General FYI: google does not recognize the "." In email addresses anymore. I'm not sure if they're still letting people sign up with accounts with . Or how they're dealing with existing accounts with the . But I literally get dozens of emails a day addressed to someone with my name only I use firstnamelastname@gmail.com and she hands out firstname.lastname@gmail.com because of this, I literally have access to all of her most personal information, including access to a lot of bank account statements and stuff like that. I've reached out to her multiple times about it but she doesn't seem to care because she still keeps signing up for stuff and I keep canceling her email subscriptions.

Whoa I have a . Gmail. So if someone has the same name as me and has firstnamelastnane they just get sent my email? That seems weird.
I'm glad I have a unique last name and I don't think there are any other ppl with my first name and last name combos (at least not with a Web presence)
I still use my hotmail email that my parents made me in junior high.
I use my hotmail (that I made my first year in college #old) to sign up for newsletters and things. I can't handle anything but legit personal emails in my gmail.

I cannot stop laughing at this. This is so typical EmMilAlly's inlaws. : )
ETA- And no offense towards you, EmMilAlly, or your family. There are plenty of people in my family for whom Olive Garden would be a dream proposal location.
Anecdote: MH's Aunt uses an email address that is literally her address. Like
14mainst@msn.com.
I find this hilarious. I like to picture her thinking, "what should my email address be? Well if I use my street address I won't have to remember something else."
Hahaha.
My FIL's email address is "his name + email" like johndoeemail@gmail.com.
I accidentally laughed when he told me and then had to make up a reason why I laughed.
I love my FIL but he is like a caricature of why old people should not use technology.
@officedronette and those who agree, I don't know what you're smoking, but Olive Garden is gross. I used to be a fan, but the last time we went, it was just a disaster all around: all of the food was bad to mediocre and you had to order some things on a tablet and some things with the waiter- it was just weird and confusing. Same thing with Applebee's. I'm fine with chains in general (unlike my sister who would rather starve than eat Red Lobster) but just have had really bad experiences with those two recently.
I'm with kristhegirl. I've never seen My Cousin Vinny or a ton of other classic movies because my parents didn't have a TV in their house and my grandma didn't have cable. Someone needs to make a list for me.
Raise your hand if you have a . Gmail account and just tested the theory with another email account...FFFC...um yeah, I did.
I also just finally closed a Juno email account I had in February. It wasn't my main account anymore, but yes I still used Juno through Feb 2017. My mom still has her Juno account from 1994-95ish.
Our first date was to an Olive Garden. We also went the night we got engaged (but didn't get engaged at Olive Garden). I don't consider them real Italian but I love their breadsticks and their lemon cream cake. I'm not Italian but I get annoyed when OG releases a new dish with I'm assuming is a completely made up Italian name.
DH I think prefers chain restaurants. I don't, but when we travel my rule is that we always try to eat a place we can't eat at back home - even if that means local to where we are chains.
FFFC #2...I am embarrassed how much money we spent tonight on dinner, let alone dinner plus sitter. But the food and the service were so good. And I keep telling myself it's not everyday you celebrate a 15th anniversary.
360blessings Kion and Jasiri. They have a lot of sexual tension in this episode where they meet for the first time. It's weird to have so much sexual tension in a children's cartoon about animals.
