OMG my appointment was such a shit show. I get there at the appointed time and wait over an hour. Then I go to reception like, do you know how much longer? A couple minutes go by, they say doc will see me in five minutes. At this point I'm pissed because I've waited almost an hour and a half.
I go in and doc instead of apologizing says oh, I didn't see you before because I didn't know you were here. WHAT. THE. FUCK.
1. I made an appointment 2. When I made the appointment the receptionist asked me to call before I left home to make sure the doc would be able to see me because she might have to deliver some babies this week. So I did call ahead and they said to come in. 3. I was sitting there for an hour and a half looking at the receptionists and they forgot to tell you I was there???
I get that shit happens but how is this not your fault? The doctor was like well it's reception's fault. I don't care!! Am I taking crazy pills?
I've been going to this doctor for 20 years, she delivered both my babies but I guess I have to look for a new one.
So LO will not sleep in the crib. He occasionally naps in the pnp. But he will put himself to sleep in the bouncer and the rnp. He's gettingtoo big for both. Anyone try a dock a tot? Is it worth the money? I think is problem is he likes to be cozy and the crib provides him no coziness. Would a dock a tot potentially help with the transition?
I have one. We loved it before the reflux got ugly...once it was under control we went straight to her crib. It is not supposed to be used in the crib, but we did use it in the bassinet when she was sleeping there. My bet is that your LO is used to the snugness of the RNP, as well as the incline. (Which is why he also loves the bouncer). I don't know if the dock a tot would necessarily help because the sides don't come up that high and it's much wider than the sides of the RNP.
With my first we had a hard time transitioning from RNP to crib because she also was never swaddled. Nightmare. I am really happy to have avoided that. We attempted to move her around 3.5 months because she was too big for the RNP and I worried about her legs being crammed. It took almost a full month to get her in her crib flat consistently. (Also horrible timing with the dreaded 4 month sleep regression...but I was clueless!) Heres what worked for us.
1. I propped the mattress of the crib up with a pillow under the mattress (between bedframe and mattress) to slightly elevate the head. It wasn't as much of an incline as RNP, but she wasn't flat.
2. I took a big sheet and rolled it up the long way. I put it under the crib sheet in a "U" position to create a little nook to put the baby in. The crib sheet was tight over it.
3. I slowly moved the sides of the "U" wider until she wasn't even touching it. And then got rid of it. Then I slowly lowered the mattress until it was flat.
We did all of this before she was rolling. Thankfully because I don't know if we could have pulled it off. I realized none of these things are considered "safe sleep" but it's what we had to do to get her in her crib. I imagine a dock a tot in the crib would perhaps replace the rolled up sheet...
Sorry for the long post. Just sharing our experience. I researched/googled a lot because I was at such a loss on how to get her in her crib. I hope your LO is a thousand times easier, and you find something that works quickly!

Thanks, flyinghorses6. With DS1 we never transitioned because he was in the crib from day 1. We lived in a one bedroom apartment and had room for just a crib. So this is new to me. I'm going to try propping the mattress. He has reflux and the pediatrician recommend putting him on an incline for sleeping. For the U under the sheet was LO's head in the U or her feet?

I made a rainbow cake. It's not finished - I have decorations - but it's pretty freaking rainbow! When the 4 year old asks for rainbow cake, she gets rainbow cake...
ETA tell me it looks okay. I planned on a different display, so I'm pissed I cut it. I will make this right! I WILL!

littleredfish awesome productivity today! I've done about a third of that so far today with one baby...
I haven't had sheets on my bed for nearly 3 weeks, and slept with a pile of towels on the end of it for like 2. Not sure I can toot my own horn too loudly. 😂
littleredfish, so glad you got to speak to your H. Sorry the call quality was shitty.
AFM, I did four loads of laundry this morning while DH played with E. Then I showered and went to therapy.
Then DH and I went to a nursery and bought a paperbark maple for our front yard. It's our early anniversary present to each other since year five is wood.
Don't worry, ladies, I'll make sure I still get the wood on the actual day. Ba dum bump.
Now I'm making carrot soup. I already set off the smoke detectors once. Nothing says Shoes in the kitchen more than something ablaze.

Need....margarita.....now!
I needed DH to be on time tonight so I could drive into the city. Guess who was late that made me 20 minutes late for the sound check for tonight's concert? He was very apologetic and I pulled the baby card with the director.
The chick playing next to me never showed up either. That's interesting. She was also only to half the rehearsals, so I'm not surprised.

My baby is not sleeping tonight. She sleeps when I hold her, but as soon as I put her down, she's whining and restless. Apparently I'm the only parent who can hear her, plus DH is tired. 👍🏼

I should have clarified. In our house, rainbow is a color. When J asked for a rainbow cake, she means rainbow colors, not a real rainbow. Girl looooves rainbow colors LOL
MH took over the 5 a.m. feeding and cleaned up around the house, which was appreciated. But I guess since his doc said he could do anything - from sex to exercise - as long as he wasn't in pain, he decided to start helping out again. Yeah... Thanks...
So today is party day. FX it goes smoothly and my family stays in check.
Question: it looks like C jammed his finger in his eye and busted some capillaries. It's not horrible looking and doesn't appear to bother him, but it's definately noticeable. Should I call the pedi? I assume it'll heal on it's own, right? FWIW J had awful eye issues for a year, so I'm kind of sensitive to eye problems.
