It's pouring rain today and is supposed to be for most of the day, so even though S is feeling better we are house bound again.
This weekend we have parents night out babysitting so we are dropping off both kids for the first time and hanging out with some friends. Crossing my fingers C is good for them! Otherwise I can't think of anything exciting going on.
aggiebug i hope you are able to enjoy a night out! boo for the rain.
nothing special here. DH has had to work the last 4 weekends in a row, so i'm hopeful he won't this weekend. we may go test drive a car or two, and i have a bunch of baby prep stuff to do. i would love to take DD strawberry picking, but it seems we're an hour from all the farms, and since she isn't a nap-on-the-go kind of gal, it seems difficult to fit that in.
Toddler: Mommy I want a snaaaaaack Me: hmm do you want yogurt. Toddler: umm yeah Me: (not really wanting to get up for the thousandth time) do you remember where it is in the refrigerator? And do you think you can get it? Toddler:, Yes! Mommy don't get up you stay there *I* get it.

Ha mission accomplished.
I totally don't trust my toddler to do this. Or not to eat every last one of whatever he got. The pantry has a knob cover for a reason.
Just swimming lessons Saturday morning and friends coming over to swim that afternoon. And probably swimming on Sunday. I also want to finish planting my flowers and replace the mini rose bush that died.

Lol well I made her show me what she got and with the way our house is I would pretty much always know if she opened the door so it works. I do remember my sister sending pictures of my nephew climbing the fridge shelves and pantry shelves to get what he wanted
Everyone is home today . We spent the morning in the backyard weeding and messing around while V played. We are going to go see Guardians of the Galaxy tonight with my brother for his birthday, so that should be fun.
aggiebug V would totally spill the yogurt everywhere, I'm impressed!
aggiebug G can't open our fridge. When he does I'll totally have to rearrange things to be more toddler friendly.
kartish hope Guardians is good! I'd be seeing it this weekend if DH weren't out of town.
agm04 hope your H has the weekend off. How does A handle skipping a nap? Would strawberry picking be worth that? G can tolerate a missed nap here and there if we don't ask much of him in the evening (so missing a nap and then a late dinner at a restaurant is a disaster, but a missed nap and then a low key evening at home tends to work most of the time.)
Had our last bible study meeting today and then lunch with all those ladies. G and Mom had a good time, though she was scandalized by his lack of clothing. Knock on wood something seems to have clicked with him & potty training today, so tomorrow we'll move on to wearing pants.
ummm DD...does NOT handle missing a nap well. it's something i look forward to in the future, but it takes her days to adjust if she misses one or has a bad one. if we could count a car nap i'd be all over it, but those don't work either. :/

Aw man. Well hopefully that means she'll continue to nap for a long time, which will give you a bit of a break in the afternoon where you'll only have to tend to the baby!
And thanks, I'm super impressed with G too. This is the kid who never once noticed a wet diaper or peeing, who wouldn't stop playing or even pause mid sentence to poop, just keep right on talking, strained though it might be. I'm shocked we've made any progress at all.
Spent the morning cleaning, the afternoon with gma/gpa, and the evening being pissed at DH. At least I got my 5th workout in! It'll be difficult to do it this weekend so I'm glad for that.
lilyelayne it was good! I really enjoyed it. It was different from the first one though. We had A with us and the little monkey stayed awake the whole time even though he normal is asleep at that time, silly boy. He was so good and didn't make a peep though.
At work today and hopefully am meeting up with a friend of mine tonight. She is in town for her son's college graduation, and I'm hoping she has time to come and see the boys before she heads home tomorrow.
Hola! I dragged the family to the mall with me this morning and I cannot describe the diaper horror that took place. Let's just say poor S is clearly not over her stomach bug. I picked her up and the look of panic and horror on H's face was hilarious. I am not sure mine was any better. We still have clean up to do, and now get to bleach the bathtub and the bath toys too. So much for date night tonight!
Low key day at home. I think G and I are both getting a little cabin fever. Tomorrow will be our first diaper free outing, going to my grandmother's, so hopefully that goes well.
My post college roomie is in town visiting his parents so he's coming over for a bit. So excited to see him!
I got to see my friend last night, it was so nice. The visit was brief, she had dinner plans with her kids so stopped by to see us before then.
So last night we were bathing A in the kitchen and a honey bee flew down my cleavage! DH wanted to kill it because I'm allergic to wasp stings but I was freaking out that he'd miss and it'd sting me so I told him to take the baby out of the tub and stood there frozen. After a minute it crawled out and flew away. So scary!
Had a good time with my friend and her kids over for swimming yesterday. DS did fine despite a bad nap and having to share his toys. He was fanned over by the two older kids.
Today we walked to see the fire engines and get crepes for brunch. Then we went to the playground. I just got DS down for a nap. That kid has been fighting naps and bedtime so hard lately. Thinking maybe we'll transition to blankets and sheets on his bed as we get closer to starting potty training.
H is making fresh pasta for dinner and I may head to the store to get the couple groceries we need for my lunch and the week.
We are on our way home from visiting my nephew! We had a good visit! I opened my big mouth and said I didn't agree with a statement their pediatrician made* and I think I offended my BIL bc he believes anything the doctor says apparently. But he seemed okay today when we went to lunch before heading home. Baby G is doing great and the girls just loved holding and loving their cousin. We also got in some swimming at the hotel!
*the pedi said that the baby doesn't want to do anything but stay home and be held, when my sister asked about sun care and bug repellent. Basically the doctor said don't take him outside of the home...ever.......😒 which is so wrong on so many levels IMO.
dreemkin love tit for the nephew visit. That's weird that the pediatrician would say not to take him out. We were told not to use sunscreen until 6 months, but shield with blankets or other shade producers of we were out and would use sunscreen on ourselves.
dreemkin that is such an odd statement. Unless babu G has immune system issues, I can't imagine that being recommended advice.
V discovered the joy of large cardboard boxes today, it was pretty cute. Now he is in the tub and will be getting an early bedtime. He needs it today.
seamonster V has started stalling at naptime and bedtime. One more story, he needs his doll, his doll needs a pillow, his doll needs a blanket, his doll needs a Binky, and so on. I've been humoring a couple of requests then I just shut the door on him. But sometimes he stalls so much at naptime he never ends up napping.
kartish we've had so many weekend where if it weren't for the stroller he would try to skip his nap. And he needs his nap. I'm glad he's a champion napper at daycare and gets in 2.5 hours there to make up for his maybe hour ones on the weekend (he'd sleep better if he wasn't getting overly tired from fighting the nap).
dreemkin I was thinking some more on your sister and it really sounds like she may have PPA. And it can be really hard to see it in yourself and get help. But it helps for someone to say something in love and support and give actual resources and direction. I'd encourage her to talk to her OB about the possibility of PPMD, especially PPA (which tends to be overlooked if there aren't signs of PPD). It's normal to worry about your baby, but things like never going outside are extreme.
seamonster thanks but my sister wants to go out and do stuff and even wants to drive to visit us sometime soon (3 hr drive by herself). It's her H that is agreeing with the Dr. My sister said she thinks the baby is ready to go grocery shopping this week and my BIL said, "No, YOU are ready to go" (implying the whole "the baby doesn't want to do anything" mentality).
And no immune issues or health issues at all for the baby. But for some reason the doctor said if he catches a cold he could be sick for two months and you'd end up going to the hospital for antibiotics...again such a weird statement. It's almost like he's trying to scare them and that's so uncool for new parents that are already nervous. Then my mom said (who went with to the appointment) the pedi kissed the baby on the face...that's not germy?!?
dreemkin does your sister have a carrier for the baby? It could be a good compromise between her and BIL because the baby would be all snuggled up in the carrier, less chances for being touched, out of the sun and whatnot. But your sister could still be out and about?
