1. I married my high school sweetheart when I was 19. Almost 5 years later here we are with 2 kids.
2. In the 15 years I was in dance growing up (age 3-18) I never missed a dance class.
3. I became a certified soccer referee at 15. I was the only female at the course as well.
4. I've lived in 3 provinces in 5 years, soon to be 4 when we move this summer. My kids are born in the 2 provinces we made fun of growing up.
5. I was the chair of my high school Youth in Philanthropy foundation for two years and coached soccer and dance starting at 12. I'm passionate about being involved in my community and look forward to getting involved in boards/organizations/coaching again once my kids are a little bit older.
caer House Hunters was really fun. It took a full day to do each house, and then the other stuff took another couple of days - like we went to a driving range so my husband could teach me how to golf. (First and last time, for me. Golf is not my game.) There is no script or anything. My husband wanted to do all of the annoying things that people hate about House Hunters. I vetoed that plan. 😬
They definitely push you to have strong opinions, and the premise of our "story" was not real (they portrayed it as me wanting to push the budget to find a style I liked in my new town.) We were in on it, though. It's all real, but not true, exactly, if that makes sense. It's not a documentary. It's the story of people buying a house.
We had a great time talking to the producer and the camera guy about different shows and stuff that they've worked on. One camera guy had done Hoarders for a while and said it was the hottest, smelliest, saddest thing.
1. I worked at a camp every summer while in high school. I'd do anything to go back for one more summer. 2. I play the viola and the piano. 3. I coach youth hockey! I love the U10 age group. 4. We know someone named to the women's Olympic hockey team yesterday! 5. We love college football at my house.
1. I was president of the band sorority in college and attended the music/arts camp that American Pie was based on when I was in HS. #bandnerd4lyfe 2. Also part of the left handed club. 3. I rang handbells for 24 years, but stopped when I had DS1. 4. I am super afraid of birds. Fish also creep me out. 5. I've lived within like 8 miles of the White House for 27 out of my 34 years, but have never been inside.

You already had bought your house though, right? Did they ask you to pretend you were doing that roll? Did you get paid?
1. I'm fluent in Spanish. I should be since I teach it though. 2. DD1 is named after my grandma and my mom, me and DD2 have the same middle name. 3. My sister is my best friend too bad we live about 1000 miles away. 4. I have watched all seasons of Parks and Rec about 5 times and still love it! 5. DH and I like trying gourmet sodas. Having a coconut cream one now!

PDQ because details:
Yes, house was already purchased! There's no way they could do a site like this without the homeowners already owning one of the houses.
They lay out the story for the episode - it's not like a scripted show, of course, but any reality TV has a story, too. It somewhat came together organically because of the area we're in, the house we bought, and various opinions we'd expressed throughout the application and early filming process. The producer pulled these threads together, though. The original angle they wanted, which would've been more true, wouldn't work because of the house styles here. There weren't any comps that would've worked.
We got a small "gift" of $500 (total, not each), which I think is basically a non-union talent speaking appearance fee, but we were never employees of the network or anything.
1. I feel old in this thread. I'm 32, ftm. 2. I'm half ecuadorian but no one can tell unless they meet my dad. 3.I was named after a Russian model while my parents were watching miss universe or a similar show. 4. My H was friends with my mom and step dad before we met and started dating. 5. I'm a sterotypical canadian and say Eh alot and apologize for everything
I like fun facts!! Even though I'm late to the party....
1- I have worn glasses since I was 7 years old. In my 20 years of wearing glasses, I have only owned about 5 pairs because I get really attached to them. I just got a new pair last month and the last time I got a new pair before that was April 2009.
2- I didn't start drinking coffee until April 2015. Oh look that coincides perfectly with when my first was born!
3- I didn't get my driver's license until I was 26. I was married, had a baby, and got my degrees before learning to drive.
4- I was (and still am, when I have time) an avid fan-fiction reader and writer. It is my biggest (and probably nerdiest) hobby. I have over 100 documents written on my computer.
I had my H guess my 5 facts and he said I should have added that I slept happily in a crib until age 4 and that we should have a "5 facts from our husbands thread" because apparently mine suck and his would be way better.
Fun!! I love reading these!! 1- got my DMD at 27, became a partner in my current practice at 30 and bought it outright at 32 2- DH does almost all of the cooking in our house but I'm excellent at ordering takeout 3- I don't like my hands to get wet in the ocean in case I get salt water in my eyes. So I only really wade in and keep both hands above the water at all times 4- I love rap. Memorizing all the song lyrics is a strength so I love the challenge of rap. Especially Eminem 5- I played bass clarinet in HS and loved it

How fun! I can think of nothing fun so I asked H to help me. 1. I know all the words to most of the popular Eminem songs (& enjoy rapping in the car). 2. From H - "You have duck feet" - when my feet are pointed straight my knees point in, so when I'm walking my feet tend to turn out a bit. You likely wouldn't notice, but I'm super self conscious about it. 3. I've been horseback riding since I was 8. I've owned a few horses but sold my last when I was pregnant w/ dd1. I can't wait to get the girls into riding when they're old enough (if they want to)! 4. I was a vegetarian for over a decade, until well after college. 5. I paid off $40k in debt in 10 months a couple years ago. H and I had some school loans and 1 car loan. It wasn't easy but it was a great feeling to be debt free (minus a mortgage) at 26 years old! (We do have 1 car loan now for our mini van + a 20yr mortgage but that's it for debt).
mikaela20, I used to travel to Canada (the Maritimes) a few times a year for work and worked closely with someone who lived there. He said eh all the time and didn't notice & didn't believe me when I mentioned it, until I'd give him a hard time about it every time! I loved going up there and everyone was so nice!
@obi, I hadn't held a newborn in my adult life until dd1 was born (& the only newborn otherwise was as a kid when my aunt had her first baby). I had never changed a diaper until dd1 either. It's true that you can learn as you go!

My name came from Days of our Lives, an evil character even.

34 here! We can be old together
I'm 33. IRL I don't feel like an old mom at all, but maybe a little but here.
I love puzzles too! Also a math and science nerd. I love all sports, but football is easily my favorite. I wanted to be a marine biologist, but was afraid to move so far from home (to be near water). I am also apparently old, at 33. Oh yeah, and add me to those that love HGTV and have probably seen every episode of house hunters.
My five fun facts:
1. I was on the varsity volleyball team starting in 8th grade
2. I lived in Germany until I was three
3. I refuse to buy e-books. I like to have a hard copy for two reasons - there is something about flipping real pages, and I also love the look of books on a bookshelf. However, I almost will never read a book twice and since having kids we don't keep any books on bookshelves. And I haven't read much since having dd1.
4. I love fishing. My biggest fish caught was a 44" Muskie.
5. We have a 1 year old Australian shepherd and this is the first dog I've ever owned.
