My adoption peeps with get this one...I spent my first day away from DD today, she's 8 weeks old. I got home and she gave me the biggest smile. I no longer doubt our bond
Our older son was such a tough baby. He cried for the first 3 months of his life. There were times I wondered if his crying was related to being adopted. He became the most insanely bonded to us child ever, I joke with people that he would climb inside me if he could (even now at age 4 lol).
He had colic or whatever going on as a newborn and I totally was projecting my bonding concerns onto newborn fussiness.

I'm so sorry you had to deal with 12 weeks of colic.

This may have made my eyes a bit teary. Just a smidgen. So beautiful.
Our daycare workers commented that they couldn't believe how happy our now 3.5 yo was when I picked him up every day during the first few months we had him. I think at first it was more, "thank God! A familiar face!" To "that's my mama!!" They both do it now still and I love it.
