I actually got up to pump. We usually do a bottle motn, then I pump. But C was still asleep and I woke up FULL, so I pumped first. Then I actually woke him up, because he was still asleep but making noise like he does shortly before waking up. (And he'd been asleep for 5 hours. I knew if I just went back to bed, he'd wake up as soon as I fell back asleep.) Hoping the fact he wasn't good and awake will help him go back down when we're done.
Me. A fell asleep around 730 so I woke her up at 815 to do pjs and bedtime and she was back out at 845. She was up at. 1, 2, and now 4. I'm exhausted. H is working overnight so I'm extra annoyed - I asked him twice not to pick up the overtime because I don't like him gone all night but he did it anyways and is now gone until 4pm, then again 530pm-3am. I know he's doing it for the $ to prove I can leave my job, but I specifically told him 1 of my concerns was him feeling too much pressure to work - exactly like this. At least it's the weekend!
kaits8 that's difficult! Seems like a lot of work for both of you since you'll be solo while he rests.
The words "whyyyyy won't she sleep" may have been muttered (shouted) several times already. I'm regretting going to the baseball game with H last night since we didn't get home til midnight and she's been up 12:15, 2, 3:30 and 4:45. I feel like she's up the moment my head hits the pillow (she's not in our room, either). I am pumping now. H can take the next feeding and DS will be up soon.
. , love the location idea! I am always wondering where people live when they post about time zones and weather too.
A slept after her 4am feeding and is still out. DD1 just woke up but she's still sitting in bed so I'm drinking coffee first. I was emotional anyways last night b/c I was mad that H was about to leave for a long couple of days (& he's mad at me but that's a different story) but I was lying in dd1's bed doing bedtime and the way she plopped herself down next to me, grabbed her blanket, and threw an arm over me to cuddle made me ugly cry. It finally hit me just how much she has become a little girl and is no longer a baby and it killed me. I feel like I was just nursing and rocking her to bed (I knew I'd miss it then, I just didn't realize how much). Plus yesterday she grabbed A's blanket and sat in the infant seat, and then asked me to pick her up, wrap her in a blanket and rock her like a baby. I want my little baby back. *Cue more ugly crying into my coffee now..*
I have to keep reminding myself that I have the youngest babe in this BMB. When you all talk about only one MOTN feeding I'm wondering why my baby is still eating 3x a night at minimum.
Today is L's one month birthday! Hopefully he chills out enough to take some pictures. Right now he is fussy, hoping he poops soon or something because he's not a happy camper right now.
kaits8 my LO is only 4 weeks old and I'm already missing his floppy little newborn body that would melt when I would burp him. He's already so strong (which is wonderful!) but it really does go so fast! I'm going to lose it when he's as big as your DD1
Waiting on cinnamon rolls to get done. I can't waaaait.
Yum! We're on the first wakeup at 2:30 and now I'm craving cinnamon rolls. Hopefully I'll still be able to go back to sleep and DD will sleep until 7...second thought might be too hopeful. Her second stretch of the night isn't usually as long as the first.
Aww kaits8, they really do grow up fast! DS asked me the other day if I will always call him my baby, even when he's grown up, and it had me ugly crying in the car.
I'm with you mosdub. I keep wondering how people's babies are sleeping so long when 4 hours is a major success for us but considering how many babies are a full month older it makes more sense.
Haven't been around much the past few days as my university best friend who is DD's godmother has been visiting. So nice to see her again!
amandamh2, mosdub, A is still waking every almost 4 hours overnight as well. Though she impressed me the other day with a 5+ hour nap!
DD is 8 weeks old and I got 5 out of her last night for the first time in about 4 weeks. She was sleeping 6 hour stretches and then stopped, which is cruel.

... just wait until they are 15 and you're discussing driver's permits and heading out to a quiet area to let them get behind the wheel.. o.O ~lip quivers~ You guys are making me cry this morning! Soooo many memories.
It's not even 8am yet and my whole crew is on the road headed south. The teens have a Biology all day lab today about an hour and a half away and DH is going to be on the road with the other three driving there, coming back to get the tiny one fed, going back to get them, and then back here again I told him I'd pump.. he's determined to do it this way ~face palm~
I should have asked for today off.. but with the whole changing of shifts and job roles, I forgot. So.. I work at 9am today.
Random encouragement to any and all.. remember that each child is completely different. On my fifth (and last.. egads, you guys make me feel old! ~laugh~ ) and I can draw comparisons, but they are each making their way in their own individual fashion and on their own path and timetable. I love the honesty on this board about rough days and negative thoughts.. too much it feels like we have to look like super perfect moms to the outside world and hold in all the guild and regret as we can't measure up to the next perfect mom who is putting on a brave face.

DD has only taken 10-15 minute cat naps because DS and the dog think if I'm in her room with her to put her down for a nap that's the best time to come in or yell mom 274 times.

THIS! Every freakin' day.. this! I feel so bad for this tiny as he seems to get no good rested sleep during the day due to being in a relatively small apartment with four sisters..
