The Derby isn't as much of a big deal here in Ohio as it was back home in Kentucky, but I've always loved the excitement and fun around Derby Day. Hats, mint juleps, Derby pie, celebrities, horses, the parties, etc.
Other than likely watching the race tonight, I don't have much on the books today. Big kids up early and I'm baking cupcakes for a friend's daughters bday. Just me and the kids today so I hope they aren't too wild.
I miss my crazy toddler. We dropped him at the grandparents 12 hours ago. By 0130 (5 hrs after drop off) I missed him. Motherhood is strange. I was so looking forward to a weekend without him here (and sleeping in!), and yet here I am.
We're doing family pictures this morning and it's like 45 degrees. And obviously I have sundresses and shorts picked out for everyone. I think we'll change at the place because it is freezing! At least I'm cheap and they are at JC Penneys and not outside.
Then the kids have soccer this afternoon even though it's stupid cold and super wet and supposed to rain.
Party this afternoon. Hopefully clearing/prepping guest room before that, though. (To become Elena's room. It was the catch-all so now we have to actually think about what to do with everything that room "caught.")
The baby (MH gets mad when I call DS2 that. "He's a toddler". Whatevs) is still sick and it's crummy out. I think I'll clean and we'll snuggle in between. I need to bleach my couch today. We must be dirt balls because that thing gets dingy 😕.
Please do not call him "the baby" forever. A former coworker referred to her daughter as "the baby" - this girl was in high school. Unsurprisingly, that "baby" still lives at home with no job and not going to school. She's 20.
(I mean, right now, yes. He's the baby. Your husband is clearly crazy because toddlers are still babies.)

Funny I call Sam the baby and DD says "mom he's a toddler now".
We're headed up to Philly for a few hours to spend some time with family. A is magically taking a nap and I'm so excited it's borderline pathetic. She usually naps 12-1:30 on weekends and that's the same exact time as this lunch so I was stressing out. We tried to keep her extra active this morning to attempt a car nap and I guess it worked!!

My right boob has been intermittently leaky since we weaned 6 months ago. But last night I noticed instead of clear/cream colored fluid it's a darker tan (not bloody). Anyone else have something similar happen or knowledge about this?
You can come fix my yard next jnetx. Really it's just the flower bed, DH won't do it right. I'm this.close to renting a tiller and going after it myself.
We got up and went to breakfast at our favorite Mexican place, then we hit the park and grocery store for ribs tonight. DH is about to take DS1 fishing, DS2 is talking in his crib, and I get a kohls/target solo shopping trip later! Not a bad Saturday.

Umm so I left the dog outside for a bit in our fenced in yard. I went outside and there mud everywhere. She started to dig up the dead cat. The cat that died three months before we got the dog. WTF?!? Thankfully the cat wasn't like completely unearthed. I dumped the soil back in the hole and put a bunch of large stones on top. How in the world did she figure that out!?!?

One of my boobs started leaking tan colored...stuff...back in college/pre-any kids. My OB sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound, just in case. No issues noted from those and the issue eventually cleared itself up.
R got his second haircut today. He screamed like we were torturing him the entire time. The woman cut his hair significantly shorter than we wanted, but I'm amazed she was able to do it at all with how much he was screaming and thrashing around.

All three boys ended up in my bed. This has never happened. O and I have now been up since 4. Dh gets home at 8 and I am more than ready for him to be home.
JR was meltdown city all. day. yesterday. It was rough. Reasons for meltdowns ran the gamut, but my favorite was when she peeled apart her peanut butter sandwich and got it all over her hands (cue freak out), then the dog started licking her hands (cue 2nd freak out), then I tried to wipe her hands (cue meltdown). I feel like this is starting kinda early, no? I am not looking forward to age 3.
I wish my children would sleep in. Even 7am would be nice.
I'm supposed to show the house today but Hunter has a fever and won't let me put him down. There is so much cleaning to do, it's never going to happen. I might try to reschedule for later in the day since i can't show it like this and H is of course at work.

Why can't DS2 sleep past 6:00?!?! If we don't lock the door to our bedroom he comes in multiple times and wake us up. We've yelled at him for repeatedly not listening to us about this but nothing changes. If we lock our door he rattles the door so loud it wakes up everyone. I hate it but nothing seems to get through to him. :/
