Hi ladies,
I could use some T&P at the moment. I was all set to be discharged today until I had a couple of high BP during the night. I figured it was due to S being up all night cluster feeding plus the beautiful postpartum sweats were happening.
Today doc wanted me to stay bc pressures were still a bit elevated but not scary high. My husband and I pushed to go home as I get some white coat syndrome. Doc said we could go if she ran labs and everything was ok. So labs come back and my liver function is 2.5-3x higher than it should be. Therefore doc is now concerned that I have PP preeclampsia. I have labs again in another hour or so. If they stay the same or go down we will monitor. If it is going up then I have to go on magnesium for at least 24 hours.
It's reminding me too much of my first baby and I'm scared. Any positive vibes are appreciated.
I hope the labs come back ok enough for you to be able to go home. I'll be thinking of you, update us when you get the chance and try to get some rest! (Easier said than done, I know.)
Hope your labs come back clear! So sorry you're dealing with this. I had PP preeclampsia with my first as well.
When was your discovered? My first had to come early 33 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. I remember magnesium being awful with a baby in nicu. Thankfully this baby is already outside and doing well.

My pre-e wasn't bad, it started at 36 weeks and I was induced at 37 after home and hospital bed rest. He ended up spending over a month in the NICU for a totally freak infection and condition that they couldn't figure out what caused either. The pp pre-e was diagnosed 4 days pp, I had to go back to triage since I was discharged 12 hours after delivery. Luckily after a transfusion and a ton of other meds my BP came down to normal range so I got to leave with just bp meds and avoided magnesium.

Oh man I hope things resolve quickly! I'll be thinking about you, keep us updated. Easier said than done but try to rest as much as you can. Are you able to keep your baby in the hospital with you for this extra time?

Well. I got taken off of magnesium a couple hours ago. My labs stayed stable overnight. Now I'm waiting on the doctor for who knows how long to find out next steps. All I know is more labs scheduled to be drawn at 6pm

Labs are due to be drawn at 6. If liver looks stable or numbers trending down and my BP is stable I'm supposedly going to be discharged tomorrow but closely monitored for awhile.
Of course I just puked. That felt lovely with my c section incision. I'm hoping it is just my body clearing the last of the magnesium and due to breastfeeding and not eating at all for a few hours before magnesium and only eating a little since. I'm talking a protein bar, some carrots, and an apple.
Liver labs are looking better! One is back to normal levels and the other dropped 19 points and is headed in the right direction. My BP has all been acceptable so Seth and I should get discharged today!!!!!
Amazing how my nausea and crappy feelings resolved right after hearing that. I'll still have to monitor BP at home for awhile and get follow ups but I can go take a shower at home and see all of my kids. 😃
