laurensc927 , I think they say 5-10 lbs for first tri. I was up 6, so that was good I don't have a scale at home, so just weigh at the midwife's.

grumpycat88, yes, I get the hungover feeling too. I have had a fair number of headaches on and off. A small cup of coffee seems to help though

I've already had my well rounded breakfast and morning snack. How long do I have to reasonably wait to eat lunch? This mama is hungry today.

On a side note what is the normal weight gain for 1st tri? I have my 12 week appointment Thursday and want to know if I'm on track.

5 lbs in 1st tri, but it's frequent that women lose weight because of feeling like garbage. Bulk of weight gain (for me) tends to be after 28 weeks.

Thanks grumpycat88 blabbermouth, I'm up 2 lbs (am starting on the heavier side). My concern is I'm going for my appointment after work and my weight gain will skew higher b/c of that. If it's 5 at least it will give me some wiggle room this week.

laurensc927, with DD, MH told one of his close friends and then we were getting congrats texts from acquaintances before family knew. I know she wouldn't have told anyone so I do feel kinda bad but I needed to respect MH's wishes and she doesn't seem to understand that. Sorry, apparently I needed to vent about this lol.

blabbermouth me too! The hunger is fierce and I haven't been making the best choices. I think my only saving grace has been trying to stay active or I would definitely have gained more. I am trying to make better choices lately though so I don't end up creating bad habits that weren't there before.

So is mine lol. When they weighed me at the first appointment they asked my starting weight and I told them whatever you have for today since I weighed myself this morning and haven't gained yet. It was the truth plus it doesn't add an unnecessary 2lbs of gain that I weren't there yet lol.

laurensc927, I think you're fine. I'm up 8-10 lbs depending on time of day (13w3d today) which I think is on the high end, but it is what it is. I think total goal gain is 25-35 lbs, and last time I gained 35, then was back at my PP weight by 3 months. Your body is going to do what it needs to do to support a pregnancy.

laurensc927 don't get too worried about it. Your doc will say something if it's too much/too little. I finally hit my pre baby weight 2 weeks before finding out I was pregnant with #2 (when DS was over 2 years old). Our bodies grow and change to accommodate just like bostonbaker said.

I'm ok with weight gain just want to try and stay on track as I've had numerous friends gain 50+lbs. My wish right now is that my bloat would start to form a true bump so once I hit 12 or so weeks I can stop hiding it lol

I get irrationally annoyed that the ob scale is higher then my home scale and I intentionally wear the lightest weight clothes I can.

I always gain a good bit in first tri. I'm up like 8lbs or some shit already, despite keeping my eating moderately clean and healthy and working out regularly. Drives me crazy.

I personally would not take DS to a funeral at his age. I would include him in the food/gathering afterwards though. If you decide to explain it to her, simple and concrete.

Yay beefinch! So glad for the strong heartbeat. I have a SCH and had more pink spotting over the weekend so I know how annoy and scary it can be.

I have only gained about 1lb, if that, during the 1st tri. I've had such bad evening sickness that my snacking has been curtailed and I credit that. I gained an ungodly amount in the 1st with DS (and through the whole pregnancy really) so I am actually a little thankful. Don't let my 1lb fool you though, I sill look like a house. I'm starting out about 13lbs heavier overall this time so hoping to keep my final weight at a reasonable amount.

Also, I told my boss today. Telling your 60 year old male boss you are pregnant has got to be in the top 10 most awkward moments. I wanted to blurt out that a nurse got me pregnant, we didn't have to have sex. I've got stellar social skills, obviously.

It is sort of a pet peeve when people think they should get to know, or be told a certain time or way. You tell whoever, whenever you are comfortable. Period.

My cousin took her life on Friday and we are going home for her funeral. We leave Wednesday, services are Thursday from 2-4p then food/gathering afterwards. First of all, I'm so sorry for you and your whole family's loss. I had to take my 1.5 year old to a funeral last year. It was a mess and I opt for leaving her with family for just the service. Then you could pick her up if there's a luncheon, etc?
