This might be a dumb question, but I keep thinking of all these new things I don't know about twins!
How DO you guys tell them apart? Or are all of yours different enough looking that if you really look at them, you can tell? Once I told people I was expecting twins, they asked me and I just said, I dunno... I guess I'll mark one with a sharpie every few days so I can tell?
Mine are identical girls and are just ~4oz different in weight. Currently, M has a bit less hair than Izzi. But uhhhh. That's it. They're starting to make different facial expressions so that's helpful. Worst case scenario I have to undress one and look at her back- Izzi has a birthmark thank god.
Does anyone else stuff the crap outta their kids before bed? My two are currently all. Get that boob away from me! And I'm like. Take it! You drink more! Drink it right now!

Yes! It's works with N. she sleeps 9-10 hours. It only works sometimes with E. he gives me the side eye and cries when I try to shove the bottle in his mouth. 😜

I painted one of C's big toenails the first few weeks. Mine are most likely fraternal, but when a stranger puts me on the spot asking names, sometimes I blank because they do look an awful lot alike.

That's W. He needs a big bottle as soon as we get home and another at bedtime 30 min - 1 hour later. It helps him stay asleep better between bedtime and midnight.
Z will not take extra formula at bedtime. She just snacks on her evening bottle.

That still happens to me. I usually just say Z and W. They don't need to know which is which. For that matter, I struggle to call them by their names. I usually have to go through the whole list, including animals or just settle on "hey, you."

Lol our girls are fraternal and they really look very different. But if they have hats on I seem to be the only one that can tell them apart. Even DH struggles if there's a hat covering Harpers crazy hair. Must be mothers instinct lol.

Like when someone asks for my kid's birthday, and I immediately freeze up like OMG I SHOULD KNOW THIS. I still second guess myself sometimes.
We went to the pediatrician a while ago and they asked for birth date.....and I gave them mine. Oops.

My step sister has 10 year old ID girls. They have grown into different body types as they've gotten older but when they were really little they looked so alike that even their mom had trouble. She painted their toenails different colors.

My go to response when one of the kids yells for mommy is "yes baby" or some other term of endearment instead of their names. It saves me from the kid telling me I'm not whichever name came out of my mouth. Lol.

For some reason MH is convinced ds2 was born on the 14, he was born in the 16. Three years later he still gets it wrong and has me second guessing everytime I'm asked his birthdate.

Do y'all memorize SSNs? I've yet to memorize DD1, she'll be 2 in June, and on a good day I can remember DH's last four for the phone bill. Lmao. I don't think I can successfully commit 3 to memory. At least not anytime soon.
LydiaDeetz, I have not memorized the kids SSNs and have yet to be presented with a compelling enough reason to work on this. After a year of Kinder, my twins have their school ID's memorized so I just ask them whenever it comes up for school.

I have not. I don't even have a guess at DH's other than the first 3, which is not really helpful at all.

Heck no. Just my own. DHs I have saved on my computer if I need it. Def not the girls.

I know mine and DHs. I've yet to be asked for the twins'.
This sounds just like my DH. He can't focus for shit. He's incredibly forgetful (even forgetting his therapists appts where he gets his meds prescribed!). We actually are going to marriage counseling soon because a) we have issues stemming from our infertility journey and b) because I feel like he's an anchor around my foot - I always need to help him, show him, tell him, nag him and remind him about things and 7/10 they still don't get done. It's really isolating and frustrating to feel like you are the only one taking care of things around the house.
With the babies it's frustrating because he thinks it must be easy being here with them while he's working. He would think that - because when he's with the babies he doesn't do anything. I have to tell him to give them tummy time, read books, go for a walk in the stroller, put them on the playmat, etc. it's frustrating.
Things never get done because he can't rally and just do it. All of his tasks come with a "half time" or "quarter time" break and when he does have energy, it goes to golf - because lord knows that man can wake up at the ass crack of dawn and golf all day but taking the trash out when the bin is full is just too much.
Anyways, all of this to say - maybe he has an underlying issue. Maybe he isn't hearing how this is impacting you - regardless of how many times you tell him. Sorry. I know how it feels to feel like you do it all and it sucks.
ETA: my DH does better with lists, but unfortunately, for him to really get shit done, I have to "mommy" him. Esentially he has to ask if he can golf, and I say yes so long as the list is completed. Then he gets it all done in one shot. WTF?! Why can't he be an adult and get shit done? Anyways, I told him I don't like him anymore and I have a hard time even standing him and if it wasn't for the fact that I don't have money of my own since I'm in grad school and on ML, and the fact that we have newborn babies who deserve a family, I would divorce him right now.
I may have mentioned this before... somewhere I read that you should not get divorced within a year or three of having kids because it's such a big adjustment for the individuals and the relationship (excluding extreme cases like abuse). I've used that several times to take that off the table and talk to MH instead. Often talking is harder than giving up. I hope counseling helps you and YH work better together.
I think more people go through this than we think. DH and I have never fought so much in our lives than the first few months after having our oldest and then twins. It's SOO tough! But it does get better. Hang in there.

Nope, I only know mine and at the time my now exh. Never memorized my 8 year olds and most likely will never remember the twins' either
We have some sort of crud affecting all of the ladies of my house. DD1 has a watery eye and some green goo coming from her nose. Both twins are stuffy. And I'm a combination of both plus exhausted. I don't need to take the twins to the doctor right? Not febrile, eating, pooping, peeing. A bit cranky but otherwise normal. I just get nervous because they're so tiny!

As long as they aren't febrile and are making lots of dirty diapers you don't need to take them, I hope everyone feels better soon!! Maybe add some probiotics to your regime so they are getting those through your milk.
