I almost just fell in my toilet. As I was sitting down a plastic piece shot out one side, and the seat fell to the other side, hanging by one hinge. I guess I am replacing the toilet seat this weekend. I'm not going to cheap out and get the flimsy one this time.
She seemed a bit better last night and we actually got to play for a little while without her screaming and clinging to me. She pooped at daycare rather than home, and thankfully they have not uploaded more pictures, so I'm actually not sure how that's going. She did wake up this morning covered in green snot, so I'm sure she has some sort of bug that I'm hoping will go away very soon. Thanks for checking in!
I made my first blue apron meal tonight. I like how hello fresh packages their meals better. Aside from that the meal is something I would never pick to make if I saw it in a cook book. It was pretty good, although a little spicy.

What was the meal?
I chopped my thumb on Sunday cutting asparagus. The hard healing skin is a nuisance!

Except they subbed cucumber for the radishes.
that looks good! I did Blue Apron when DD was little (5-6 mo) and took a nap during my dinner prep time. I liked it a lot, but they're too complicated for me to try and do now while managing her (DH doesn't get home until after we have already started eating most nights).
I heard that Hello Fresh is a little simpler- I might try it and see.

lemoncupcake, I think Hello Fresh was easier to do. Their prep time was shorter (or more accurate. I feel like I also take twice as long as they think I should take). Their meals might not be as exotic and interesting, but they were doable with a toddler most nights!

We both totally dropped the ball on our anniversary weekend (it's tomorrow). BIL and his fiancee are flying out next week, so H and I were planning on going down to the city for an overnight trip next weekend. For some reason, the hotels are all like 400+ and we didn't look early enough to find a good AirBnB (even 2 months ago they were gone!).
We were going to get tickets to a comedy show, but both forgot to do it in time, and now all that's left is an 11pm show.
So, our grand plans are now going to be more "Eh, we'll see what happens." and we'll probably just end up getting an uber back to our house. Laaaaaame! It'll still be fun, but boo.
lemoncupcake I have done both and depending on the meal they can be about the same for prep/cooking. This one was one where I had to pay attention the whole time so it is a little difficult if I'm the only one here. I just try and get the girls occupied with something else (usually the tv because I'm mom of the year) and then focus on cooking.
That said, I prefer how hello fresh comes and for that factor I rate it higher in my mind.
I overslept this morning and was late getting H to preschool. I wanted to do barre this morning but with this super annoying cough I don't want to try it. It seems like any time I take a deep breath it causes a coughing fit so that's all I'd do there. S is being awfully crazy this morning. She's crawling around and hollering.
There are not enough hours between now and when we leave for VT for my brothers graduation Sunday. My list is so long. I am beyond overwhelmed. Also running on 2hrs of sleep after being up for 29 isn't helping. I want to curl up and have wine and go to bed. Ughhhhhhhhh. ETA Saturday. We leave Saturday. Fml.

Sounds stressful I hope you get some sleep first and then tackle the rest! You're SuperMom!

I did a couple things and went to the gym. SO really stepped up and cleaned a lot which was so helpful. And then I slept! For almost 8 hours! Glorious. I feel like a whole new person!

It's Friday!!
Nothing today. X is still hanging on to a nasty sounding cough, so we'll stay away from other kids today. I hope it's gone by Monday. I am SO bored and miss going to public places with other kids. I think we'll go drive around looking for yard sales today. I'm on the hunt for some outside toys.
I hired our first real babysitter tonight! Just for a few hours and X will be asleep the whole time (hopefully). We'll just go grab a drink a few blocks away. Then I come home and drive our babysitter home. I feel so old.
I'm strapped to my desk today issuing summer teaching contracts, then rushing out the door to meet my MIL and her friends for some sort of front door sign painting thing she wants to do. I'm happy to spend time with her, but just thinking about doing anything after my long hectic day of work is making me sad. Seriously cannot wait to prop my feet up and drink.

Before I slip up on accident (tw)
I am pregnant - due in Jan 2018. I'm excited and also nervous that I've made a terrible mistake. Mostly excited, though we will barely squeak in for the 2u2 club, assuming that everything goes well.
Congrats lemoncupcake And yay rivers and roads! Isn't it your anniversary today? Or did I miss a day... either way, happy anniversary!! Have fun tonight! And I know what you mean about feeling old, haha. Anytime I say I have to do something "for my daughter (or son)" I feel like I'm playing dress up. Still.

I feel the same way. I'll never forget the first time I called and made an appt for ds1 and had to say my son. I was like "who am I?"
It is so nice outside. This morning we went for a walk. Then after nap MIL picked up H to take her to a Mother's Day tea at GMIL's nursing home. While they were gone S napped and I did some work outside. I sprayed weeds, got the water table out and cleaned, etc. Now I'm going to get the girls ready and we will go to the park.
