We are 2 months in and it finally happened: DH Is at work and both children woke up motn at different times. DD from 1:30-2:30, DS at 4:30, DD again at 5.
erinshelley21, ah! When I whine about my only child waking up multiple times I'll remind myself that you with multiple LOs have it even harder! Caffeinate yourself.
renegadewhit, you too. I got a 3 hour stretch last night at least, but I'm in the "all the wake ups" camp most of the time.
I wish I could consciously sleep. 3-4 hour stretches are the longest I get but they go by so fast!
So sorry erinshelley21 and @renegabewhit. That all sounds terrible. I am still getting used to this waking up at 5:30 and not really stopping until 8 when the toddler is in bed. I ended up falling asleep at 8:30 last night. T slept from 7-11 when I moved to our room finally and then from 11:20-3. He was up at 3:45 ate for five minutes and I tried to wake him a bit to eat at 6 before leaving and he ate but was sleep eating! If we can do this all the time I wouldn't hate it!

Sorry for all the crap sleep!
B had an okay night. Had his usual wake up a little before 2am but then didn't want to go back down which is unlike him. He was a little crankier than usual yesterday afternoon so I'm attributing it to the shots. Hopefully he's back to himself today.
Anyways, I'm going to start packing for our vacation today! I've got most of the stuff laid out, just need to actually put it in the suitcase. I cannot believe how much stuff we have to take with us. Packing for 2 adults and 2 children is insane. So.much.stuff. We're driving down to Florida and I have NO idea how people pack this much crap and fly with it.
I got lucky last night. C went down around 9:30 (after fighting it and being fussy for awhile.) I went to bed shortly after. He didn't wake me up until 4:30, was back down by a little after 5, and slept until about 7:15. Now we're up, I'm feeding him and catching up on a couple episodes of The Americans.

Despite napping through bedtime, last night wasn't the worst. Up at 11 and 4 and then basically up for good at 6, although she snoozed and grunted until 7.
I have a mom date today with a new friend. So I'm excited about that.
But! I have to pack for our trip to Ohio. We're flying so I'm trying to be minimalist. We'll see if I achieve that - I only just got good at it for myself so I doubt I'll be able to do it this time for the baby.
I can commiserate with lack of sleep. It was 10p before we got the twins in bedish and after 11 before O fell asleep. Woke up Anthony and got him fed and back down a bit after 12. He was up at 4 and 7.
missi and ladytiffany24 I feel you on the flailing! C has become much more active while trying to nurse than before. Usually once he gets going he calms down, but he moves like crazy at the beginning!
Put my twins in their room and didn't let them out for about 45 minutes this morning because I was tired and couldn't take their toddler antics. Mom of the year award over here 🙄 At least they sounded like they were having fun destroying their room without parental supervision

As long as there are no massive booms, I end up doing this too. Probably actually good for them
Well, J has not been napping well lately when we are at home. After kristhegirl posted the other day about nap routines, I decided to try it out. After being fed, changed, swaddled, rocked and sang to, she went down drowsy, but awake and has been sleeping for the last 2.5 hours! This is after a 45 minutes nap this AM while we were out to breakfast earlier.
kristhegirl thank you! I really had no idea I was missing tired cues (closed fists, blank stare). Hopefully it wasn't a fluke, but I started this yesterday, and the 5 pm fussy time didn't happen...we'll see if we can get 2 days in a row.
I am trying to catch up but the toddler is running me ragged today. Another oily mess in his room this morning. Thanks H. Then he threw a tantrum and bumped his chin and lower lip on the ground which led to a bloody, swollen mess.
I have to walk all 3 of us to my eye Dr appointment in town soon. My H was going to leave work early (he had an appt too) but they are doing Corp training so he can't leave. It isn't a long walk but I am worrying about wrangling both kids in public haha. So thankful right now that we got a used Valco double stroller. It is AMAZING. I think I may walk to Tim Hortons after. The eye Dr is about half way there and I haven't had a coffee yet...
I realize I'm going to be quite boring now, not that I was exciting before. Now the routine is get up, go to work, come home from work, make supper, wrangle children, bedtime, prep for tomorrow, and go to bed. Rinse and repeat Monday - Friday.

DD had her 2 month appt this morning. It went pretty well. She screamed during her shots but was ok after she nursed. We went to my bff's and had a lunch date with her and her 5 week old little boy. Both babies were great during lunch. Now we are home and she is starting to get a little fussy so I don't see me getting much else done besides snuggling her.
Jack is sleeping soooo much today. I feel like I will always be in constant worry that he isn't gaining. It is either he is sleeping too much and not eating well or he is eating and in pain. No "normal"
I hate the doubt.
Hugs. This must be so worrisome. I'm sure he is growing just fine now. Can you get him weighed somewhere or do a not as accurate weigh at home to make you feel better?
I've been really surprised how well the napping has gotten in a short amount of time. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself. Not as many chores are getting done during the day though. So it seems I have to take away some of my sleep at night to get things like the dishes washed and clothes put away. But it's worth it if it means my baby is happy.
I've been getting a little ragey at DH becuase he has no issues sitting on the couch after work playing video games after I just spent a while getting the baby down and then spend my "free time" doing chores before I go to bed. I'm really trying to give him some credit with the things he does do like take the dog for a nightly walk but I might snap next time it happens again. Like dude really? You didn't think washing a sink full of dishes would be helpful while I'm working on getting baby to sleep? Sign. I hate complaining about it but it drives me nuts. Next time I will have to tell him to do the dishes and just deal with the grunts and huffs that come from him.

I feel like we are having the same day. Good naps, cluttered houses and DH's that don't quite get the new routine yet. Hugs. It's so frustrating, but I think they'll get there.

I am going to hop on the scale with him tomorrow. I'm trying not to obcess about it so I keep telling myself I need to space out the days I weigh him. But damn is it always in the back of my mind. Ahhhhh!
3 years later I still worry that DS isn't gaining like he should be. No doctor has ever said anything about it since he caught up when he was a few months old.

I weigh both of my kids multiple times a week, and weighed DS1 almost daily for most of his first year. The anxiety of having experienced a baby's extreme weight loss and/or slow gain never really goes away.
I was obsessive about it with DS. I would get so nervous before his appointments. I felt sick when we left the hospital was DD and she had already lost 10% and the whole ride to the hospital for her weight check. I almost cried happy tears at her second one when he had gained 3oz.
