Good morning! G had mercy on my and slept until 7:30. She has been waking up around 6:30 lately. I have to work for an hour or two tonight. I may take G out to play and/or spend my michaels gift card.
M was up singing at 6:15. Ughhh. But DH is staying home today because a friend is in town so I made him get her up and do all pre-sitter activities while I got to shower and dry my hair in the morning for once. So that was nice. And then I got to work and the internet wasn't working. Not like I need that or anything.... Luckily it is back now.

We are going out for an early Mother's Day brunch this morning! The other day I was reminded of a cute breakfast place near our old hood, someone on FB was praising it for being so kid friendly so I told MH I'd like to go. Brunch is my fave, but hell no to dealing with a zillion other families trying to do the same on the weekend. Eggs benedict, here I come!
DS is cracking me up so much these days. I put the foam numbers 1 and 0 right by each other and said, "look! If you put 1 and 0 together, it becomes a TEN!"
I was convinced that Disney would never make another movie as amazing as the classics. I was wrong. Moana is easily in my top 5 favorite Disney movies.

I guess my early UO is that I didn't care for Moana! I mean, it got a few laughs from me, but I was mostly bored. I didn't find the songs that everyone is raving about to be all that great or catchy. Nothing made me cry. The only reason why we didn't turn it off is because we were tired.

On another note, I am SO FULL of brunchy goodness. I also have to rave about the toddler friendliness of this place: They put down kraft paper under the high chair so I wasn't worried about the inevitable mess. They brought her cut up bananas with a toddler fork the moment we sat down. They had the standard placemat with crayons, but they ALSO had a little basket filled with toys (magnifying glass was a surprising hit!) and board books to keep her entertained. She did get squirmy toward the end, but it was one of our best dining experiences to date.

Stick-in-the-mud, party of one.
I enjoyed it simply for the cinematography. It was beautifully crafted. But -- I'm a creative type, so I really don't watch movies the same way the average person does. I analyze edit cuts and review sound the entire time and it drives DH crazy. Haha!

Today I wore a button down tucked into a pair of nice work pants. My DD looked at me and said "You look like someone that owns a building. That tells people what to do!"
Also, This sounds awful BUT yesterday was teacher appreciation day and I guess the week is teacher appreciation week and I've gotten nothing from any of my actual students. I've always had at least a THANK YOU note or something!
I think I'm feeling down about it more than normal because I'm just down and out this week and was thinking it'd help raise my spirits a little bit.
If it makes you feel any better it's also nurses appreciation week and I have yet to get anything or any sort of recognition from my employer. Everywhere else I've ever worked have always given us SOMETHING. But newp, nothing here yet

+1. I think I would have enjoyed it better if there wasn't sooo much hype about it, people saying that it was the BEST disney movie to date... I was expecting a LOT more. It was OK, and entertaining at parts... but most of it was boring and uneventful. DD was even bored... and i'm pretty sure the fire monster gave her nightmares for like a solid week because her sleep went to complete shit shortly after watching it.
I went to visit my friend who had a baby a couple months ago... he's a little peanut and SO freaking cute. It gave me the baby bug a bit. We've been preventing lately, but now I'm thinking about maybe not preventing anymore!
I loved Moana and I totally cried like 20 different times. I was like a month post partum though so that might have influenced some of the crying. I didn't care that much for the main song that got most popular but the intro song is my favorite of all time. The animation is gorgeous and I appreciated the complete lack of romance. I also had a lot of good feels about representation. I feel like it was a win overall.
I didn't like Brave or Frozen and I expected to not like Moana either because there was similar hype. I know I am picky tho I am ready to watch again
Apparently MH washed the diapers with no soap??? I can only assume because they still smelled completely like pee. Like seriously, I ask you to do this one time. It is not hard.

A got bored during Moana so we didn't finish it.. in going to try again but she's still loving Trolls right now! So good, and such a better soundtrack than Frozen

Fair enough, I'm a designer by trade, I look at things with a critical eye too. It wasn't aesthetically unpleasing, just overhyped and not highly entertaining to me.

Oh jeez. Maybe just not enough soap? Happened to me once in the early days.
I'm also super controlling of the diaper laundry -- which, as I type it, sounds crazy -- but I can't always trust that MH will get it right, even though I've told him many times.

He thought about it and said, nope, you're right, I didn't use soap. Headdesk.
