We spent Sunday doing some last minute prep for baby. I went to bed at 10 having some irregular contractions which had been happening for about a week. Woke up around midnight with stronger contractions and timed a few. They were 10 minutes apart, and stayed that way for the next 3 hours. Then around 3am they started getting to about 7 minutes apart so I woke H up to let him know it was probably happening.
We called my SIL at 5 to meet us at our house so she could get DD1 off to daycare. We got to the hospital at 6, got admitted by 7am. I was at 6cm by 8:30am when they did my epideral and broke my water. They let me labor down, and were going to come check me at 11:30, but I had an uncontrollable urge to push and everyone came in the room at about 11. After about 10 minutes of pushing H announced that we had a girl!
It was such a different experience from DD1. The labor was way quicker (about 12 hours total rather than 28 hours and 10 min pushing instead of 3.5 hours), and recovery is going better. I had a great nurse who was so helpful at coaching both me and H through everything. We were also really happy that the hospital changed from 'breast is best' policy to 'fed is best' so we didn't get any of the pressure we were worried about.
I'm a little sad about this pregnancy and delivery being all over with since we plan on this being our last, but I'm so excited about our family as we imagined it being complete!

Congratulations! I understand being a little sad about the pregnancy being over. I'm feeling the same way since this was definitely our last but I know our family is complete.
