Last night DH made dinner. I said I wasn't hungry. He said 'oh, so you'll be eating soup around 8pm tonight then?'. I'm becoming predictable in my pregnant ways.

Allergies are out of control and my coffee is weak. I had a few beans left which I thought would have been enough for a cup in my French press but no I have really really weak coffee. Waiting until Paw Patrol comes on to take a shower so I can go get some caffeine.
We made it to Disney.... I'm having a hard time sleeping because my mom snores pretty loud, so it's a trip to CVS for earplugs this morning. Hopefully they work tonight...

We've had a really busy week and I'm so glad it is Friday! We have a busy weekend planned too, but it should be fun-busy, not work-busy, so at least there's that.

We have started summer hours on campus which means I get off at 12 every other Friday. Today is my first day and instead of rushing home, I am making a Target run to look at maternity jeans and shorts. We also have a new sectional for our playroom being delivered sometime today. Much excite for both of these events!
CoachTsWife, My LO will be half-way on Monday. When did this happen?!

Sitting here waiting for my anatomy scan and quietly freaking out. Already on edge cause it's a level 2 (cause I'm old and fat), and my appointment was supposed to start 30 minutes ago. I want to throw up.

I have this expecting multiples book and the author recommends a minimum of 175g protein per day for a twin pregnancy. I'm super super struggling to get this much protein in, mainly because meat doesn't really appeal to me at the moment (which feels super weird since I normally eat mostly paleo) so I'm eating a ton of dairy which is what I'm craving anyway but I also just got a pregnancy protein powder. But ugh I'm tracking all this protein and by the time I get to 100-125g I'm feeling so full and so gross. I just can't seem to do 175 and I'm stressing about it. Which is dumb because I know it's not the end of the world but the author makes it seem like if I'm not doing this and getting my protein in and not gaining enough weight my babies are going to be tiny and it will all be my fault. Someone please talk me down.

starmile , I also eat mostly paleo but am struggling with meat. Do you like eggs, peanut/almond butter? I had eliminated dairy last fall but I've been eating it again - cottage cheese and greek yogurt have reasonable amounts of protein. Also, there are beans and lentils if you get along ok with those (I don't).
But honestly, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Seriously! There are no set guidelines for every pregnancy and you're doing great. I hope you're able to stop stressing about it.

Yeah when I can stomach it I've been doing eggs... 4 for 24g protein. And 1c fage greek yogurt has 23 g. But 175 just seems insane. Beans and lentils don't really work for me either. Thank you, I know I need to focus on getting protein but I sort of wish I hadn't read these guidelines. I do need to stop stressing.

starmile, also, in the past I've used collagen protein. I think Vital Proteins is a popular brand now, but what I used in the past was Great Lakes brand. The green can from Great Lakes dissolves in any temp liquid and doesn't alter the taste much (you might notice it when added to plain water but I didn't find it gross or anything). I used to just add some to my water. Bonus, the collagen is great for our skin!

I joined the YMCA today!! I procrastinated it long enough ($0 joining fee ends on Monday). Haven't used it yet, but I'm excited.
YMCA is my favorite place! We go there everyday and DD does swimming and gymnastics there! One of the best things was sign up there, it's like a family!

starmile, 175g seems insane. I'm a believer in 'your body will tell you what it needs, when it needs it'. I've read that when resources are scarce, our babies get 'fed' before we do. Will hunt for a source for this. You do the best you can! None of us are eating great when we get hit with nausea or fatigue or food aversions. Some days all I can eat is soup.

Idk if y'all are able to drink Coffee at all but I always have a cup in the AM (or I won't survive) and it usually helps with constipation!! Hope you guys get some relief soon!

Magnesium fixed my constipation last pregnancy. I was able to prevent it this time because of what I learned last time. Seriously, try magnesium. Most people don't get enough anyway, so win-win.
So I tried regular coffee again today. Insert regrets and sadness. I still have a negative reaction to it and end up shakey and weak and miserable.
Guess I'm done for. I hoped 10wks later I would be better. You know? Like move solidly into second trimester and be able to drink coffee again. Well....newp. No coffee for me. 😭
I told my friend, that is my first post baby meal. All the espressos. She laughed and said she would bring me coffee after delivery. I said, and if you can't, send everyone an email that says "if you visit SSM, bring coffee".

Thanks for the kind words earlier! Once they finally got me in everything went fine, the tech was super nice, and the doctor had a quirky bedside manner but he wasn't unpleasant. Everything looks good with LO, so that is a definite relief. All told we were there for 2 hours (including waiting) and DD was a trooper, mostly thanks to MGC on MH's tablet.
And last but not least, we elected to find out the sex this time, and we are having a... GIRL! The tech said she saw it right away but checked a few times to confirm, the doctor couldn't see when he was scanning but he confirmed it based on the earlier pictures.

We have a YMCA right by our house, but sadly it's a little sketchy. Took a tour and a few sample classes a while back, but I wasn't super impressed. I'll have to check it out again sometime, it is so ridiculously close that it would be a shame to never use it
