Just scored a 2 hour nap. Mom watched L so we could go grocery shopping and unfortunately was very fussy for her the whole time we were gone I guess. I thought he'd be sleepy because he was up all morning with me and we did a lot of engaging activities! Since we got back from groceries around 12:30 though he's been passed out! He just ate because lawd forbid he sleep longer than 3 hours before he needs to pig out haha, but now he's back to sleep. Time to get ready for friends to come over!!! Yay socialization!
moutonrouge that sucks what bottles have you tried? Does she use a paci?
I think we've almost tried all of them except Nuk and Playtex. Kiinde, Avent, Dr Browns, Comotomo, Munchkin Latch, Tommee Tippee, The First Years, and the ones that came with my pump. At some point I felt like bottle type wasn't the problem.
She won't take a pacifier. She reacts to those in the same way.
moutonrouge Are you giving fresh milk or frozen? If frozen, have you tried smelling or tasting it first? If it tastes/smells soapy, perhaps a lipase issue could be causing her to resist taking bottles, rather than her hating the bottles themselves?
Hopefully you'll figure out something that works!
Fresh and also chilled is what we've tried. I haven't bothered defrosting what I have frozen - usually we offer milk from the same day or the day before. Today's milk was chilled from last night. I've tasted 5 or 6 day old milk and it tastes pretty much the same to me, and smells fine.
I've been having such a bad week. I meam, Monday was ultra shitty with the whole car accident thing, I'm still in a lot of pain but both kids are fine. So DS is jumpimg off the walls and wanting to play but I can't because of injuries.
DH wants to take me out to dinner tomorrow after the kids are asleep but I would rather just save the money.

Thanks all for the support. We have until July and I've been told that some babies take to cups at 3-4 months instead of the bottle. We may try a sippy cup soon - I bought one with the last batch of bottles.

That's a really good idea. I hate she won't take a bottle for you. It sounds frustrating.

I know it doesn't feel like it but she will eventually take a bottle. Its frustrating but they do realize if they want to eat... they need the bottle.

I just keep hearing about reverse cycling and it scares me. DNW to be up all night with a baby that won't eat all day, especially when I'm working.
. so I misunderstood the play date and it was "sensory activities" Think- bubbles, music, etc. There were 8 babies there (7 weeks to 5 months) and I could have died over the cuteness. It sounded like they were talking to each other at times. And then at one point, I looked over and J was holding hands with another baby!! Here she is painting:
Poof! (just the picture)
She made one for each of her grandmas for Mother's Day!
This was so easy, and the "older" babies seemed to really enjoy it. We put paint on a sheet of paper, put it in a ziplock and put the babies down for tummy time over the painting. They liked the color and the different sensation of the ziplock. And now I have a cute Mother's Day gift for the grandmas!
I had to have my gallbladder removed yesterday. 😥At least I get to spend Mother's Day with my amazing Mom! She dropped everything to come help us. ETA: key word missing

We were supposed to go to a grad party tonight, but we bailed. H worked longer than planned, and C hasn't taken a single really really good nap today, so he's in a bit of a mood. I'm working on getting him to sleep now, and then I think we're just going to drink beer on the deck for awhile.
H had already told me that I get to sleep in tomorrow. I'm super excited.

White noise machine users: do you leave the noise on all night or put it on a timer? We picked up machine for DD tonight and I don't know what I'm doing other than have it loud.
erinshelley21 I just use an app on my phone when he's fussy, and I use a timer. However, some food for thought:
Is he in your room or his own? If in his own, do you use a monitor of any sort? Because if we did use one in C's room, I think the noise all night long through the monitor would drive me nuts.

She's in her room. I've learned to ignore the fan and humidifier in DS's room over his monitor so I'm not too worried about that. I'll probably try the timer before I go leaving it on all night.
moutonrouge DS1 wasn't great about taking a bottle after the first few weeks. I stressed out worrying about it in the weeks leading up to daycare and the daycare folks had him taking a bottle like a champ by the end of day 1. YMMV, but in terms of getting ready for daycare, I wouldn't stress.

I leave it on all night. I need white noise to sleep to though.

I have a white noise machine in each of the girls' rooms, both of which stay on all night. I'd prefer to not have the noise over the monitor, but we live in a ranch so theyd hear every movement we make without it (both once they're in bed and we're still up, and at 5am when the animals start screaming for bfast), so it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
