This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. Feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd tri after 27 weeks.
If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below (and tag me) and include: -EDD and team if you know/team green if you aren't finding out? -How far along you are? -Upcoming appointments? -Anything you’d like to share.
I'm 15w1d today. Not much new. I'm still going to my OB every two weeks, but my next u/s isn't until my anatomy scan in 6/5. At my last OB appointment on Friday though she started to ask questions like if I've thought about a pediatrician and whether I plan to breast or bottle feed. Kind of crazy. I'm feeling good and have started working out again (although not running), so overall I'm in a good place right now. QOTW: we haven't really talked about this, but I assume we'll start off with the baby in a bassinet in our room.
Hey all, Just chilling today. I am 25+4 days. I can't believe I'm this far along. This is the first Mother's Day where I've gone shopping and people have said Happy Mother's Day and I smiled instead of feeling sad.
My next appointment isn't until June 8th and I'll do my GD test then. We are going to Florida on Friday and I'm nervous about flying because my sciatica has been acting up but hopefully I'll be ok since it's just a 2 hour flight.
QOTW: Baby will be sleeping in our room for at least 3 months, maybe more.

This is me too. Mother's Day was a sad day for so long, so I'm hoping we're turning the page on that this year.
Hi everyone! I'm 25w3d today. We just got back from a week long vacation to Southern California. The weather didn't really cooperate but we still had a great time and it was nice to get away. Sleep has been becoming more and more difficult the past few days, in fact last night I had to sleep on the couch because it was the only place I could get comfortable and even then I only slept about 3 hours. I'm also having a lot of lower back and leg pain from sciatica. I think we're going to start working on the nursery over the next few weeks, so I'm excited about that.
QOTW: We registered for a rock n play that I'm hoping she can sleep in next to our bed. We also registered for a sleep nest for in our bed as well, so we may try that too, although I'd probably only use that on nights MH works. I guess it will be trial and error to see what works.
Hi all! I'm 26+4 today and I'm doing pretty good. There's still moments where I worry that baby isn't moving enough (she goes through quiet days it seems, then is active again, etc) and anxiety tries to get the better of me but I try to keep my head up and not go down that rabbit hole. I go through bouts where I suddenly feel really self-conscious and insecure about my growing belly, but generally speaking I'm loving my bump. People have started actively commenting on my bump lately, which both weirds me out a little as makes me feel smiley.
Physically speaking tis mostly just the usual 2nd trim stuff though lately I also been experiencing a very uncomfortable feeling just under my belly button, like my stomach muscles are tearing or such. The area feels numbish, seems to flatten out some or such and also has lost color (so looks oddly white). I've started wearing a belly support belt in hopes to take some of the pressure off both my lower back/hips as my belly button area.
Unfortunately there's some ridiculous though serious shit going on at work right now which is causing a lot of stress and loss of sleep. I worry that in the end I may loose my job (even though technically they aren't allowed to fire me until 6wks after my maternity leave ends so even if that was to happen I won't be without an income until like mid January '18, but still), which would just seriously suck for a multitude of reasons. Meh. I try to stay positive..
QoTW: We plan on letting the baby sleep in a bassinet in our bedroom for the first couple of months, after which she'll be moving into her own room which is right next to our bedroom.

Hey peeps! I'm 17 weeks 6 days. Nothing super exciting happening. Still hoping to feel some movement soon! The Doppler is still super helpful. I'm glad everyone seems to be doing alright For now I'm impatiently waiting for my next appointment (next Thursday). And I could really go for some Duck Donuts.
QOTW: We will probably have her in our room until I don't even know when. I want to put together a nursery at some point but we are also looking at buying a house. It's not urgent but it seems like a good idea.
Question for you guys: When did you start putting together a registry? What places would you recommend? Amazon? Babies R Us? I'm thinking to wait until after the a/s next week. I'm not even sure if there is a right or wrong time.

I'm just jumping in to say hi and bye! I've been a terrible TCFer lately, hopefully I can get back into the swing of things before he comes. I'm going to be heading off to the 3rd tri check in this week.
I'm 27+3 today and feeling it more every day. I don't remember being this tired and uncomfortable this early last time around. Then again I wasn't trying to chase a toddler either.
Things are going well for the most part. I'm still nauseated almost all the time and I was diagnosed with borderline GD again. Last time they decided that it was a false diagnosis eventually, so I'm not at all concerned with it. I just have to watch what I eat and make sure I don't gain too much too quickly.
I went for an U/S a couple of weeks ago and the little guy's kidneys were getting less full so I don't have to go for another one until around 32 weeks to make sure everything is still on track. I was so happy that he is looking better, but also really glad I wont have to have MIL watch Molly while I'm at appointments. DNW her around my kid more than necessary. She already watches her 1 day a week and that's plenty for me. because of the kidney thing I've already started every 2 week appointments, which makes this seem all too close to the end.
QOTW: He will be in our room for probably a month or 2 like we did with Molly. Then I will more than likely keep him in the guest room until he STTN(or close to it) and the kids will share a room. The guest room doubles as my quiet space and craft room, so giving that up when it's not really necessary isn't on my list of things I want to do.

goofynewfy, I would make a list of things you absolutely must have on the registry and then a list of things you would like to have. It is so overwhelming to be at the store and try to figure out what you need. Check out Lucies list It will become your registry bible. Well, for me it was. So helpful when weeding through all the stuff.
We did registries through both Amazon and Babies r us. The Amazon one was great for people addicted to prime like I am and the BRU registry rewards program was really nice. We paid for a convertible car seat with the registry rewards just because people bought us the things we needed. Free money wins in my book and you can return anything on your registry for a year after the baby comes. Great for the things you thought you needed, but didn't actually use. Like that bottle steamer you forgo because the dishwasher is easier. I didn't do a Target registry, but know a lot of people do them and don't have any complaints.

@ketchup, I feel like every so often I have a few days where she is less active and then she'll pick back up. Obvi, on the less active days I still freak the fuck out, but I'm saying I think it might be normal to feel less movement sometimes.
goofynewfy, I did a registry at Buy Buy Baby and one on Amazon. So far the Amazon one is much more popular as far as people purchasing from it (so far people have bought a bunch of stuff from my Amazon registry and only 3 things from BBB, so I guess everyone loves Prime). I picked BBB because they I have a lot of coupons for 20% off and they also accept bed bath and beyond coupons. Also I tried going to the store to do my BBB one but got completely overwhelmed after like 15 minutes and left. I ended up doing it 90% on their website so I could look stuff up as I went and I highly recommend doing it that way. I second the lucie's list rec, it helped me a lot because I was (am still) clueless about what we would need.
nutmeg8484, I'm so glad his kidneys are looking better! I hope you have a great 3rd tri!
cali, I didn't realize bed bath and beyond was connected to buy buy baby!! I never even thought about it. I don't know if we have one near us but I will have to check.

Hi y'all!! I'm 24+3 today, u/s tomorrow. Hoping all looks ok, my anxiety always ratchets up before I go in. I've been doing ok except for exhaustion, seriously, so tired...I tried to paint the trim in the nursery and paint the closet and had to stop twice to nap. There may have been tears, too. Except I can't sleep at night, I'm uncomfortable and find it really hard to fall into deep sleep. Guess I should get used to it! They've been pretty active, which is nice. I even caught a couple kicks on video yesterday...been trying for weeks and it's so hard to capture, so that was neat. QOTW: we're going to try the double bassinet pack n play or cosleeper in our room for a few months probably, then they'll move to nursery. The nursery is on a separate floor so I made sure to get a reaaaalllly comfy glider that I can actually sleep in from time to time as necessary.

king26 Mother's Day was super emotional for me this year, so crazy to be in a different place this year than the last few!
cali three hours of real sleep a night is my norm a lot, too, these days.
muscari I'm sorry for the work stress!! I hope it sorts out! I may need to start wearing a support belt, too, I tried walking with NH today and was feeling a ton of pulling and discomfort on the underside of my belly and am thinking I'm just too big for too much movement these days!
goofynewfy we have Amazon and BBB for a lot of the reasons others have mentioned. We got some big ticket stuff ourselves at BBB but the bulk of things others will buy will be on Amazon, I bet.
Good luck moving to 3rd tri nutmeg8484 hope the GD doesn't become an issue and baby' kidneys stay on track!

HI all!
25+5 and the MFM admitted me to the hospital today. Baby B, who is our small one, is now over 500 grams. One of her doppler reading on her umbilical cord was elevated so the MFM admitted for better monitoring and to start steroid shots as well as a course of mag sulfate to prepare for an early delivery.
I asked the MFM if I was in until delivery and she said that if they monitor for a few weeks and everything ends up looking okay then I could possibly go back home pre-delivery. The OB was much more realistic. In her opinion, we will deliver before 30 weeks with a good chance of delivery in the next two. She is really hoping that we can make it to 28 or 29 weeks because out comes are so much better.
I should get a NICU tour tomorrow as well as a consult.
I really, really, really just want to graduate from this check-in to third tri with two inside babies that are doing well.
QOTW - plan is for babies to stay in our room for at least six months.
