September 24 or 25....they keep changing it. I guess one day doesn't really matter.
21 weeks today!
I had my A/S last Friday. Everything went well. Baby is measuring 13oz. I saw her wiggling her toes and it was the cutest thing ever. I had an ultrasound pic but I need to crop it before I post it.
Rants/raves/symptoms: nothing new going on here.
Questions: NA
GTKY: I usually sing Hush Little Baby. It's DD's favorite song. I have gotten Somewhere Over the Rainbow stuck in my head lately and I love that song so I may sing that song to the new baby.
I've been taking Zantac at night for probably a good month now. I forgot to take some the other night and boy did I pay for it by morning. I hate heartburn and realized just How much my nightly Zantac helps.
I sing Jesus Loves Me. DD loves to sing it with me and it makes my heart melt.
Appointments/ultrasounds: growth scan prenatal and MFM appointment on the 25th
Rants/raves/symptoms: the meds have helped so much with the itching. I still itch but not nearly as intensely.
Questions: not really
GTKY: what song do you usually sing to your kids or (for the FTM) do you have any song in mind that you want to sing to your baby? I'm not really a singer but I used to have if you give a mouse a cookie memorized and would say it while I rocked my kids.

@wicky, it's never crossed my mind that some moms don't sing lullabies. My kids expect it and it's always been soothing for DS2. Especially these days since I'm trying to wean him. He thrashes and screams until I hum/sing the right song.

EDD: September 2
How many weeks: 24 weeks...AHHH! I can't believe I've already reached v-day!
Appointments/ultrasounds: ultrasound to check cervix this morning.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Not much. I still have some PGaL brain that creeps in from time to time when his movement hasn't been noticeable. I've been exhausted again and some nausea has crept back in...I'm not ready for 3rd tri symptoms yet! I should have at least a few more weeks of 2nd tri bliss. My feet are already swelling some, so I'm glad it's summer feeling out so I can wear sandals most of the time. Indigestion is real...
Questions: nothing I can really think of right now.
GTKY: what song do you usually sing to your kids or (for the FTM) do you have any song in mind that you want to sing to your baby? When I was KU with DD, the Lumineers "Ho Hey" was big and I sang that to her. So that's kind of my song I like to sing to her. But otherwise...nothing special/in particular.

EDD: September 17
How many weeks: 22 + 1
Appointments/ultrasounds: Routine OB checkup next Mon. I'm guessing the glucose screening is coming up at my June appointment.
Rants/raves/symptoms: I feel a bit off-balance and just generally uncomfortable some days (maternity leggings FTW)... all of this is due to the growing bump, I'm sure. Loving those baby kicks!
GTKY: I sing "Powder Blue" by Renee & Jeremy to DD. It's so sweet she can sing it with me now (well, to the best of her 3-YO ability). DH sings "Wheels on the Bus" to her when he puts her to bed. When she was super tiny, I used to sing "La La Lu" from Lady & the Tramp to get her to sleep. My screen name comes from the lyrics of that song, actually. ☺️ ETA: Not sure what song I'll sing consistently to the new LO -- we'll see!
@wicky, I don't necessarily sing lullabies during the day but we sing tons of songs throughout the day. Jesus loves me, abc, I sing a song that taught DD how to spell her name, I made up a song to teach her the days of the week and the months of the year, we sing a vowel song, we also sing lots of her toddler tunes that she loves.
We sing at random parts of the day but I usually always sing fun songs with them when we do bathtime.
DD loves songs and once I discovered how easily she picked them up, I started incorporating songs like the ones I made up to teach things. She would learn it in less than a week.
@wicky we sing random songs throughout the day. My kids love music and singing. I have also found it's a great distraction when DD is throwing a fit about doing something. If I start singing a song and ask if she will sing with me, 9/10 her fit is forgotten, she will sing and we can do whatever it is that I asked her to do.
DD lost and born 9/18/2013 at 24 weeks (Trisomy 18) DS born 6/16/2015 (at 39 weeks 6 days, after emergency cerclage at 23 weeks and 14 weeks of bed rest)
It was good length...but had shortened since my scan 2 weeks ago. It's measuring between 3.2cm and 3.4cm. I know that's still in good range, but seems like a big change in 2 weeks from 4cm where we've been most of the checks. I won't worry too much until my next scan in 2 weeks.

Rants/raves/symptoms: Reached V day! Also I am officially the most pregnant I have ever been while not being on bed rest. Knocking on all the wood and crossing all the digits. Feeling good; my support belt has helped SO much with the pelvic/vagina pressure. I don't feel very glamorous wearing it (it ruins the smooth cute bump and looks like I have a fake strap-on belly under my shirt) but a small price to pay to be on my feet.
GTKY: You Are My Sunshine, followed by several Scottish folk songs that my mum used to sing, followed by all the hymns from church that I know off by heart. I sang to DS all the time when he was tiny because he had awful gas and would cry for ages before the burp came up. I would just keep singing till I had gone through every song I knew and then start over again. These days I only sing lullabies if he is very upset. He loves music though and we sing other things throughout the day. Right now he likes Itsy Bitsy spider when he is in the bath, as well as Yellow Submarine.

That's good news; I agree that 3.2-3.4 is still a good range. I also think that we have hit the stage where the cervix will naturally shorten as the baby gets heavier; as in, it's not necessarily an "incompetent cervix" issue.

Yes and he has always been right on it. Today he was sitting on it, so I'm sure that's part of it. I'm not going to worry too much and just listen to my body and make sure I don't overdo it. This is the bad part about being monitored so closely, unnecessary worry

My nerd will show here. I'm actually a developmental psychologist (I focus more on studying child care/systems, but have a background in early childhood development). There is a ton of research about the importance of talking/singing to kids. We actually find that in terms of language development, singing is just as good as talking (some parents are uncomfortable talking, so we tell them to sing). Doesn't matter what you do, but communicating with your child through words or song is great. Okay, I'll take off my nerd hat now...

EDD: RCS scheduled for September 8th
How many weeks: 23
Appointments/ultrasounds: Next appointment is 6/5. I'll have an ultrasound and glucose test
Rants/raves/symptoms: heartburn and still occasional morning sickness
Questions: none
GTKY: what song do you usually sing to your kids or (for the FTM) do you have any song in mind that you want to sing to your baby? I sing all different songs. His current favorite is the Itsy Bitsy Spider, because he loves to watch me do the motions. DS is somewhat speech delayed, and it was recommend to talk and sing to him as much as possible. It's easier for me to sing than to find something to talk about all day long.

I just posted my GTKY before I read this, but yes! This is why I sing to DS a lot. Way easier than trying to talk all day for me.
Appointments/ultrasounds: I have a routine OB appointment tomorrow. Basically a 45 min drive each way for a quick listen to the HB, some vitals, and peeing in the cup.
Rants/raves/symptoms: nothing really, feeling more movement. My blood sugars have been a little more rough.
Questions: none
GTKY: what song do you usually sing to your kids or (for the FTM) do you have any song in mind that you want to sing to your baby?
I'm not a big singer. We read lots of books and I try to talk to them a lot. We talk through things, like what's going on. It's hard for me to talk. H is the talker- my kids talk more than I do too.
Appointments: Had the Anatomy Scan last week and we are team blue! So excited! They couldn't get a good look at his heart, but we go back in 4 weeks for a fetal echo anyway, so they said they will just get what they need then.
Symptoms: still with the sciatica. I can't get comfortable at night, even with a bunch of pillows.
Questions: nope!
GTKY: I sing her a song I made up and Dear Theodosia from Hamilton every day at nap time (DH does bedtime). Also, Cecelia and the Satellite by Andrew McMahon.
Appt: monthly check in next wed. Said they'll schedule glucose test, follow up US bc we didn't get a profile last time, and after that visit we start every 3 week visits.
Symptom: evening/night heart burn has started. Mild si/low back pain.
Rrcs: My biggest challenge this pregnancy is I'm having a hard time accepting how I look. I love my belly and am proud to be carrying a kiddo, but I feel huge all over. I saw a photo and video of myself at a wedding this past weekend and just wanted to cry. Vent over.....thanks for letting me get that out.
Questions: is a second US just for a profile really necessary? (I'll ask OB next week), but it seems silly to get billed for another one just for a profile. The tech agreed that there's nothing on the profile that isn't seen from other views. I.e. All facial structures are good.
Gtky: started with lullabies and nursery rhymes with dd and plan to do the same with DS. Now it's lots and lots of Disney songs.
savigirl, just remember that being pregnant is a tiny blip of your life and when it's all over you can get your body back to the way you want it. Hugs! I know that doesn't help you cope with the changes now.
I'm not sure about the profile. There may be a reason they want it. I would call and ask bc that is a pretty big bill.
Appointments/ultrasounds: Ultra sound on Monday. They found a possible issue with her heart (might have a hole between two chambers). Good news: It's caught now so that I can see a specialist for an early diagnosis and if there are issues, they will be ready to deal with them. Also, they didn't rush me to another hospital the same day. Bad News: I won't know anything until Friday afternoon. Which might be good because I'll hopefully be less emotional and ready with questions. Don't worry I'm staying away from googling too much about it. I did a little research on medical websites and asked my SIL for her thoughts and what questions we should be ready with (she's in the final steps of becoming an OB, most likely dealing with high risk patients). I've also been told that this is fairly common and can range from a small hole that will close on it's own, to a larger hole that will need surgery. But if this isn't caught during the ultrasound it can lead to issues later in life when the surgery cannot be easily performed.
Rants/raves/symptoms:No really issues besides waiting for the fetal electrocardiogram. I felt her kick on the outside Monday morning. She's been active on and off, but most of the time it's like she's trying to stretch out from one side to the other.
Questions: Nope.
GTKY: what song do you usually sing to your kids or (for the FTM) do you have any song in mind that you want to sing to your baby?
My daughter it was You are My Sunshine.
My son it was Twinkle Twinkle. He still requests it once in awhile. But he's also a big snuggle bunny.
sarenu, sorry for the worry with the heart. My daughter was born with a VSD (hole between the two ventricles), so let me know if you have any questions or just need to chat.
