I'm going to be an AW because I can and because I like seeing more threads on this board.
When I had my appointment with my CNM a few weeks ago to confirm our third loss, she saw an ovarian cyst she wanted to keep an eye on. She had also said she would talk to the OBs at the practice about my case, see if they could come up with a plan or ideas for testing or anything. I went in yesterday for another u/s - which, side note, made me quite anxious, I only ever seem to get bad news at this office - and the cyst is either gone or very small so no worries there (as I figured since it wasn't bothering me). She didn't have any of my test results they had requested and kept forgetting that their office had done one of them (since it's been several years and I had switched practices in the meantime they treat me like a brand new patient). She was very helpful in taking some extra time to talk with me and look at the paperwork I had brought with me, and she gave me the information for some IF specialists in our area.
I'd like to see an RE, but we have an HMO so I need a referral for most things. My PCP hasn't exactly been on the ball about it and seemed pretty ambivalent about whether I should even pursue testing, see a specialist, whatever, but she's my easiest source for a referral. So I'm kind of pursuing this from 2 angles hoping I can get through with one of them. My MW said that she would have her assistant look into all of it this week and see if it's a relatively simple thing for the referral to come from them or not, and/or whether their office can get some bloodwork done for me cheaper than going through a specialist, figure out a clear few steps to our plan, etc. She was super helpful and I'm glad to hopefully be getting somewhere, even if all we find out is that this is probably bad luck.
Any experience/tips/advice for seeing an RE?
