becole idk! The dr called me and was apologetic and just said they really needed to pencil two emergency patients in. I assume they need to deliver asap vs me they're fine to wait another day.

vlagroupie I had every intention to send TY's out too, but it never happened.
This is about to sound way worse than I intend... When I give a gift, of course, I try to give something that the recipient will enjoy, but I don't need them to express their gratitude for the item. My gifts are not given so that I can receive praise, so please don't feel like you need to send one to us, save your time and the postage. Let's be honest, most of us will read it once, toss it after a week (or whenever we get around to tossing it), and never think of it again. I know tradition and etiquette (especially among older generations) says this is unpopular, but that's where I stand.

I can def agree. I just feel bad not completely acknowledging that we received it and appreciate it.
can I send text message thank yous with him playing with stuff lol?
Um yes!! This sounds like a great idea actually. Can I do this instead of the written thank you's guise?? With the exception of mominthemaking14 gift, that monstrosity of markers and stuff is hiding in the closet currently lol. Waiting for the day when we feel brave enough to open it. Might just have to take a few pieces out at a time to give to her.

Is it bad that I think this is actually a good idea? Lol
I agree. We didn't make it to C's birthday, but in general I would love a pic of the kid playing with a toy I gave a million times more than a thank you card.
I usually send thank you cards for kid events if we don't open the gifts in front of everyone. I usually only side-eye more adult events (showers & weddings) when they don't send a note.
mom2boxers I'm not sure yet! Still waiting for the dr to call me back.
babylove518 no major signs but some kinda signs. Just pretty irregular cramping and contractions. I lost a little bit of the mucus plug this morning. I'm thinking we will try to go on a walk and DTD tonight, see if that does anything!
