Vacation is the best until you get back to work and are buried. Ugh. I'm off tomorrow though lol. Had planned to take off for the bigs birthday. That won't help me get unburied, but oh well.
I don't want to go home. It's so hot in my house. sstwinklinglites I was hoping to invite you guys over some evening this week to get away from the hotel, but you would probably die if you got there and it was like 85° inside. LOL
Yes, yes I would. Lol. I've been keeping the hotel at 68* because I feel so hot all the time.
FML... I finally figured out the home warranty stuff today. Filed a claim on the website and they emailed me the number of a service provider to call. I already have an appointment scheduled with someone else tomorrow, but it's like $60 just to have them come look at it, so I suppose I'm better off with the $100 deductible.
So the soonest this guy can come out is Friday afternoon. I went ahead and scheduled it. But then when I told him it was a home warranty claim he was like "oh, I told them to take me off their list. I don't want to do any more warranty work. Well, I guess I'll go ahead and do it since I already scheduled it." And then he hung up kind of abruptly and never asked for the claim number or anything.
So I'm like, what if this guy doesn't even show up? So I called the warranty company, and told them this story. The lady there says she has to call the service provider to confirm this. Apparently he told her he has an appointment scheduled and plans to do the work. So they won't give me any other options. I have to wait and see what happens with this guy. I'm not super comfortable having someone come do the work who flat out said he doesn't want to.
WWYD? Keep my appointment for tomorrow and just go ahead and pay for it? Or take a chance on the home warranty guy?

JoBub did you Google the guys company? I'd keep the appointment with warranty be very pleassant. He probably asked to be removed from there list due to starting up and trying to get business.
If company looks sketch when you google. Tell warranty company you do not want him and you want anothet referral. Speak to supervisor or manager

I don't know why I didn't think to Google it. It sounded like an old guy on the phone, and like he must be the owner of the company. My mom said I might be in a good spot if he doesn't want business with the warranty company any more, he won't be as likely to play by their rules of just giving us the cheapest fix possible. Like if he wants to give us a brand new unit, he's getting paid either way and I'm only paying $100 either way. I just have to be really nice to him when he shows up.
The guy has good reviews on Home Advisor. I guess I'll give it a shot. This is just awkward now that I've ratted him out to the warranty company. LOL
Yeah, be nice and I think you'll be fine. He likely won't care about you ratting him out anyway, if he isn't doing that work anymore he's looking for good reviews and long term customers. Maybe ask for some business cards as soon as he gets there "so you don't forget since your brother/mother/friend needs helps" LOL Get him on your good side 😉

Oooh, this is a good strategy. LOL I'm taking notes over here on how to be nice.

I know some of you were looking for those covers for sidewalk chalk. I saw them at Target today. They had them on an end cap with other outside stuff (all Yoobi brand). I was at the Fields Ertel Target.
