Went in Monday for my 38 week appointment, and my bp was still high. The doctor and I discussed options, and we decided to proceed with an induction that night. My cervix was soft and dilated to a 2. We started cytotec at 8pm, and a second dose at midnight. At 4 am, we start pitocin. I wasn't any more dilated when we started pit, and contractions came on strong. About 2 hours later I was at a 3, and miserable and couldn't relax. I got a dose of stadol, and it knocked me out. I finally got some sleep. It wore off, and I had my water broke at a 3. Contractions were so strong and close together, I couldn't relax myself or calm down. I got another half dose of stadol, then around 9 I reluctantly got an epidural at a 4. An hour later, I was at a 5 and tried to get some rest. I woke up 2 hours feeling lots of pressure, and my husband kept asking if I needed the nurse to check me. I told him no, it was probably just a little bit of dilating no big deal. The nurse came to check about 15 minutes later and checked and I was complete! She called my dr and he just had me labor down until I felt the need to push. And y'all, even with the epidural, I wanted to die. Getting his head under my pubic bone made me feel like I was going to break him or my pelvis. My doctor was nothing short of amazing, and was literally the calm in the storm. He just stood there and stretched my perineum to try and keep me from tearing, and then the head finally came out! One more big push and his whole body came out. They immediately put him on my chest, and I didn't even have to ask for delayed cord clamping, the doctor just did it! He didn't yank my placenta out, he had me push it out like it should be.
I did have some second degree tearing where I was cut from my first baby, but the pain is nowhere near the same. Everything compared to my first delivery is just totally different. It's so nice. Baby is nursing like a champ, and doing very well. We get to go home tomorrow!(We had to stay 48 hours because of me being GBS positive)
And here's some squishy pics for reading this whole thing!
