I actually read the thread (I like those many hours back, please). While I'm not a fan of how the admins are acting/responding to something they posted (like taking days to respond to questions), I'm comfy here and don't like change. I did create a name over on SM though, if it comes to that.
I only post on J15 and my new BMB (which is pretty dead) and lurk in parenting for the politics thread. I can lurk that on SM too.
I'll do whatever J15 does. Because I'm a follower.
I made a username on SM because it was really easy, and I had flashbacks to almost being left behind on the bump. I didn't want to be left behind again. I am still here though.

I don't really care where we land. Tapatalk makes it easy to check both places.
But I do kind of see some of the reasoning from the other side. There isn't much (anything?) being done to draw new members. My O17 BMB is pretty slow. That will eventually lead to things really dying here. I'm sad that people who are pregnant and looking for support might not find a place like July15 for support, encouragement, and education. Also, I didn't know Naria (or any other admin) at all but she is in the O17 BMB. I've seen very little support from her to others in our group, despite lots and lots of support offered to her. That leaves a sour taste in my mouth. She's mentioned being thankful for TCF ad revenue so that she doesn't have to work outside the home, so you'd think she'd want to grow the community to increase that ad revenue but little has been done. IDK...
This is all I'll say about it. I'm not going anywhere unless everyone in J15 does. My loyalty is to you guys, not a particular site, so I don't care where we are.
CoachTsWife... did you leave me in S17? Am I hallucinating?
I really don't care for my new BMB too much. It's not like I dislike anyone there, but it's too slow and is totally missing the element of FTMs complaining and getting advice from the more seasoned. Everyone there had been there, done that, so there's not much advice getting thrown around. In fact, a bunch of them got pissy when S16 created a thread welcoming us to come over there with questions. I totally didn't see anything wrong with that!

wells2010, I guess I did. You don't post there much though, do you?
My EDD dates are 10/1 (by LMP) and 9/29 (by my chart). I intro'ed in Sept but I felt like everyone was SO FAR ahead of me. When Oct picked up I lurked there and felt more on the same page as people there. I was in both for a bit but decided since I went to 41+1 with DS I'd likely have an Oct baby and figured I needed to pick one and I stayed in Oct. I still feel weird about it.

This is O17 too! Nice, but ehhhh. Needs more oomph to wow me.
CoachTsWife so from what I can gather from other posts, I think you hit the nail on the head, and that is a consensus going around.
I do not have to like the admins to post here, however, I have a very sour taste in my mouth to see the treatment that Naria has given to other posters. Had I known this a long time ago, I am not sure I would have followed the exodus here.
Naria had posted yesterday about admins treated as one, and transparency. Well, there are some ladies out there right now with some really hurt feelings because nasty facebook messages were sent by admins to them, and then they defriended them. This has me worried that this place could go dark.
CoachTsWife - it seems so much easier to be toward the front end of a BMB. I was middle for July and being toward the front of December is very helpful.

IDK, I kind of liked being in the middle of July as a FTM. I got to see most of you go through things before I did, I think it helped prepare me for things as our pregnancies progressed. But then my baby stayed and stayed and stayed and I felt like I was the only one still pregnant towards the end of July (I wasn't, but I wanted to meet my son, darn it).
Anyway, I was struggling with the very first parts of pregnancy and it felt like everyone in Sept was moving on to easier days and I was on a big struggle bus. Oct felt better for me at that time. And as a STM, it probably is easier to be at the beginning of the month.

Wait. Naria gets paid enough that she doesn't have to work outside the home?? I thought she was volunteering / making enough to only keep the site going. That definitely changes things imo.
ETA: the lack of responsiveness is completely unacceptable if this is a PAID JOB.
If that's the case, and the forums are her bread and butter (making us her product to sell to advertisers), her treatment of the posters is verrrrryyyyy questionable. I can see why people are leaving.
sharebear05yelah250 it was my understanding (AND I MAY BE TOTALLY WRONG/MISSED SOMETHING) that the amount of $$$ generated by the ads on the site were barely enough to cover servers and upkeep. Then Naria stopped posting about working and apparently made comments about how she made enough to stay at home. I haven't seen those comments myself but I've heard it from a few people. This is not a volunteer/spare time thing. This is functioning as their job.
This is the impression I was under as well, to the T.

Thank you, TCF ad revenue for allowing me the opportunity to not have to work FT outside the house. It's made the whole "we repeat the first tri every 3 months" a lot easier physically
I'm trying to copy/paste a quote from another board, so sorry if it doesn't work. This is what I was referring to, and the first "huh..." moment I had when I had already noticed she wasn't offering much support to O17 mamas even though there are numerous posts showing support towards her.
I don't want to stir drama here and I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I was just trying to shed some light about one reason others may have stronger feelings than we do here.
I'm still sitting down over here. I very sincerely doubt that anyone can make enough ad revenue off TCF to stay at home; sounds like fake news to me. Even if they are lining their pockets, I don't care. They are providing a service that I am using FOR FREE. I have no demands when someone is letting me use a service without paying.

Most social media is free to use but make a lot of $$. I think it's fair to have demands in the sense that people stop using said social media outlet if it doesn't keep up and meet needs of users.

Yeah, but what I don't get is the level of drama that happens. If they can't do their job properly, screw 'em and go. That's really all that's necessary.

Some people donated though and were made promises that were not kept. I think that is a bigger part of the issue?

Agreed. But apparently that's not how most women on a message board operate. Lol
