Hi! Checking in from the road. Disney vacation was mostly successful with a couple fails. Exhausted is an understatement. Hopefully I'll get to be a little more active in a couple of days when we're back home and settled in.
Gawd, Mil talks to FIL all freaking day. It was 4x yesterday plus her iPad was dinging all day with messages. They already facetimed this morning and the damn message won't stop. H is lucky if I message him 1x a day when he's gone, hell... make had 1x the whole time he's gone. 🤣. Who's the weird one here? If your h is traveling, how often do you all check in?

When my H is traveling it's usually for work, so yeah we'd just check in in the evening. Except this time since he's like 14 hours ahead, it's mostly just been emails back and forth. We face timed for a little bit yesterday since it was Sunday for him

She's the weird one. H is either "working" (in Vegas) or sailing if he's traveling, so either way, not on his phone. Usually we check in once in the morning and once in the evening.
Just facetimed for the second time, she was "watching" the boys. While "watching" the little tore apart the bigs new birthday toy. Total chaos. GDI, hang up the effing phone if you want to watch them. My patience is non existent today.
Because I'm an idiot. It was such a bad idea. Trying to get more toy storage in here
Was thinking the same thing.... NO MOVING FURNITURE WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT!!!
I thought it was going to be so easy! I flipped it on its side so I could just slide it right across the hard floor. And I thought I was going to just push it right down the stairs and then H could rearrange down there next weekend. It just didn't work out the way it did in my head. LOL.
In the end, minor damage to the door frame, the wall at the bottom of the stairs, and the couch. Not my proudest moment.

bazinga - When H has been away traveling, we check in once in the evenings.
JoBub - Instead of more toy storage, you need less toys. Our plan now since we're losing a bedroom will be most toys in plastic bins in the garage and minimal toys in the play space, and rotate them every month or so.

We're back from Red river gorge. I had absolutely zero service the whole time. We had a good time though!
chrispy1122, tell me more about COSI. Is there a lot for their age to do? We are thinking about going to the ohio state fair and making a weekend out of it and visiting COSI as well. The last time I went was before we had a kid, so I didn't pay attention to what ages it's good for.

Yeah, definitely! We checked out some of the exhibits on the first floor and then headed upstairs where they had more of the kid stuff. That's how I plan to do it when we go again. They have a big kids play area that the kids liked. We were at COSI for about three hours and the kids didn't want to leave.

OMG can someone come explain this "less toys" concept to every other adult in thus child's life? We saw my parents for like 4 hours on mother's day and he comes back with 2 new toys. And then after a week with H's parents I don't even know how many they bought him. I'm counting at least 5. Oh, and another one arrived in the mail yesterday that H ordered. And he said he bought him something on his trip too. And none of these are "birthday presents." These people are just psycho.

Just put as much as you want away where he can't see it. DS actually plays with everything when he has a limited number of toys. When he's got this whole room full of crap he plays with like two things and everything else is just strewn around.

Yeah I have a donation box going right now and also a tub of things he's grown out of that I'll save for #2. But at some point we'll need space for 2 sets of toys because they won't be playing with the same things for a while. So I'm planning ahead a bit, but hopefully thus is the last storage cube shelf I ever purchase.
Yeah, toys are totally out of control here. I feel so overwhelmed. We have them upstairs, down in the playroom and a bunch hidden away to rotate in and out. It's just too much!
And last spam of the day re my life.... the little found the birthday cake in my office. Smashed the top of it through the box lid. It looks bad in the pic, but it was literally crumbling as we were cutting it. 😂 We told the big the jungle had an earthquake....
